I’ve moved!
Please update bookmarks and feeds and all that good stuff. The javabeans.wordpress.com site will stay up indefinitely, but I’ll be updating here instead.
I’d been thinking of upgrading to my own host for a while now, but I’m lazy. I should’ve done it earlier — it’s a pain moving once you’re settled in. I love WordPress.com, but I’m amazed at how quickly I outgrew their services and found myself itching to play around a little more. And finally, thanks to the lovely mily2, I moved off my butt AND got the idea for the new domain name.
Why Dramabeans? Partly because I wasn’t going to spend $5,000 to buy Javabeans.com. Also because someone once misheard “javabeans” as “dramabeans,” and I thought, how appropriate.
It’s basically the same as before, but few nifty features here include:
- Much, much more web space! Now I can post files without feeling guilty for encroaching on my file limit.
- You guys can now edit your own comments! You can only edit them within 10 minutes after the initial post, but that should be enough to fix any errors, etc. If it’s not, you can always post another comment.
(If you’d like a bigger window of time, let me know and I should be able to tweak it.) - Spoiler tags! I’m not sure if I’ll be using them yet, but it’s a nifty feature.
- Ads. Yep, I’ve sold out. I’d been resistant to the idea, but I figure if I spent all this time on this blog, a few pennies never hurt. If I end up hating them, I’ll remove them.
- And lots of other little details that only matter on my end.
I’m betting there are tons of little bugs in some of the older posts, which I’ll be fixing slowly. Thanks for moving along with me!

thundie, i tried editing (my own post) and i got an error message, BUT it let the edit go through! i figure i’d rather have the feature AND the glitch for now, so i’ll leave it until i can figure out how to get rid of the error message. hopefully editing still works on future commenting…
sarah, help i cant change the feed. when i click the button above it says invalid xml? cat display page? try again? how do i fix it? help pls? thankies!

Marzy, i think the new feed should work now. As I suspected, I still have to work out a lot of little bugs… but i was too impatient to do them all perfectly first. hehe.

… it’s also funny how as your ads you see where to buy good cocoa beans and such, i guess thats the confusion with your name.

Congratulations on your move. the new domain name is so appropriate because you can be such a drama mama when the occasion arises for certain caps which I so love the style. Its like watching the actual episode and feeling the emotions. I hve recommended other friends to visit your site for their daily k drama caps fix.

I am glad that you have your own dot come now…but at the same time, the silly me can’t help but worry that you’ll change into a commercialized site. I like the sorta personal space you have in your blog that is made purely because you love watching k-dramas. I think none of that has changed and it does not look like it’ll change but I just can’t help but worry. I really like your blog and of course your honesty in all of your reviews. Hope you’ll continue the “Javabeans” style.

So happy that you are moving to a better home. I am all for the commercialization of your blog (as long as you continue to do what you are doing for us non-Korean viewers). You’re absolutely right. For all the time and effort that you’ve put into this blog, you deserve to get something back. It was always mind-boggling for me to see how much work you’ve put into this site to enable us to appreciate these K-dramas. Hope that your site and works will always be as witty, frank, cool and entertaining as they’ve always been. I don’t think that you’ve realized how much influence your blogs have over all these artists that have been featured here. Your web-celebrity status is just going to get bigger from here on.
