Newsen reports that Penthouse is coming to Korea. Porn lovers rejoice!

Penthouse Media Group has made a contract to enter into an exclusive license with Korea’s own adult media corporation, N Tree Media. This new media enterprise between the two groups marks a first step in advancing into the large potential Asian adult entertainment market, as a stepping stone to advancing into China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Taiwan, and Malaysia.

The licensing agreement will span both on- and offline spheres, joining with Penthouse Group to franchise its merchandising, which includes broadcast entertainment, lingerie, jewelry and other items, in addition to adult movies and photos.

Personally, I’d thought Korea was doing just fine manufacturing its own pornography without the Americans lending a hand (insert immature snicker here), but apparently that’s not the case. What good is it being the world’s most wired society and the “bandwidth capital of the world” if you can’t get your porn the new old-fashioned way — through the interwebs?

Actor Gu Hye Sun and singer-actor Lee Minwoo (or just “M”) first worked together in the sitcom Nonstop 5, but they had their first meeting some time before that.

And, apparently, Gu Hye Sun was less than thrilled.

On the cable program Park Kyung Rim’s Wonderful Outing, Minwoo had a segment where he’d call his friends and ask them to meet up. Lots of entertainers have been the recipients of the call, and on a recent episode airing October 26, he called Gu Hye Sun. She was home resting (she’s currently filming the historical drama series King and I), and despite the late hour, she came out for her friend.

Others who’d showed up included Kim Min Sun, Kang Kyung Joon (also from Nonstop 5 — I love that they’re all still buddies), Kim Chang Ryeol, Shim Eun Ji, and Kil Gun. The MC and recently married comedienne Park Kyung Rim asked for a show of hands for whoever liked Minwoo best of the six Shinhwa members. Everyone raised their hands, except for one person — Gu Hye Sun.

It’s official. Jisun says goodbye to Loveholic.

The woman who fronted successful rock band Loveholic since its inception five years was sent off with tears and best wishes by the band and fans in a farewell-and-thank-you concert on the 27th. (Actually, there are two final concerts; the second and last takes place tonight, the 28th.)

Jisun managed to hold back her tears all throughout the concert, but finally burst into tears when bassist Lee Jae Hak brought out a letter.

Initially, she explained that she hadn’t prepared any special comments: “I don’t want it to give this a special meaning. I’d like to just treat this performance like a regular conversation.” But as they performed more and more of the songs spanning Loveholic’s career, she said solemnly, “I’ve been able to sing some truly great songs.”

After their last song, Lee Jae Hak took out the letter he’d written at the time of their very first concert, saying while holding back tears with difficulty, “I’m happy I can send you off with smiles.”

Jisun said at the end, with tears falling: “While I was in Loveholic, I came into my voice. I don’t know where we’ll be able to meet again, but if we do, please accept me warmly.” At a fan’s shout for an encore, she performed the song that had opened the concert, their first single, “Loveholic.”

She ended with: “Today, I didn’t cry that much. Tomorrow, I’ll cry my heart out” and thanked her fans.

I’ve figured out the reason that two such good-looking and charismatic actors (Gong Yoo and Odagiri Joe) would voluntarily be photographed together looking so sloppy and bedraggled in their respective grannywear.

It’s because of the hotness vortex that would cause some kind of malfunction in the atmosphere if they both came in each other’s hotness zones, causing all sorts of cosmic mayhem. So they had to tone it down for fear of wreaking unspeakable damage upon the world! *Chris Kattan doing Antonio Banderas voice* Too sexy! Too sexy!

I’ve seen open threads on other blogs and always wondered what they were. Then I found out and went, “Ohh, why didn’t I think of that before?” Especially considering how I myself derail comments sometimes with completely off-topic comment hijacking.

So I’m trying out this open thread thing, which is what it sounds like — a thread open for any and all kind of comments. Nothing’s off-topic here! Or maybe everything is. Whatever. If it works out, I’ll try making it a weekly thing. I’ll start:

• The air quality sucks here — all the fires have turned the sky into a perpetual ashy, reddish blob of potential lung cancer. The winds have died down, but the fires are still going; you can smell the fire in the air. (A news anchor strongly advised against any exercise and basically told residents to stay indoors and not move much. Or breathe much of the outside air. I was totally onboard with that.)

• And what do you think, Colbert or Stewart? (My preference runs to Colbert — “gutly,” snicker — but I watch both.)
• I have a new header! Praise Luv here for her lovely creations.
• As for new U.S. shows, Chuck makes me laugh out loud like a crazy loon.
