Ok, I know this is an old post but I'm just watching Miss Mermaid right now and wanted to find out more about the actors. I must have missed this post the first time you wrote it :)

I'm surprised that both Woo Hee Jin and Jang Seo Hee (the Miss Mermaid star) aren't more popular. They're both really pretty and act really well!

funny thing is, in most cases, we know they're lying. and these celebrities know that we know. but we ask, anyway. and so they lie, anyway.

@ anastassia:
no they didn't separate nor will they separate.. shinhwa is the only group who i believe will never break up.. they have come to a state where they do shinhwa because they love to, not as their main career.. as minwoo once said, shinhwa would have separated already if they're doing it for money.. seriously, eric earns MUCH more money as an actor than as a member of a 6-member boyband..

ermm. your post here make me want to know more about them.. In previous when I heard about Shinwa I thought that there as as the typical korean pop band. But after done some googling I have found there are talented and have their own solo project which is good for them. I will says a very mature groups.

Or did they have separated?

You are so right that eventually you would run into them. When I started watching Kdramas, I had heard about Eric, Dongwan, Minwoo and Junjin separately and later found out about the group. I have been a fan ever since. I prefer their later albums as a group but out of the 3, I prefer Minwoo's cd because I am not so much a fan of ballads. He is a very talented little guy! I do, however, adore Hyesung's voice. I too was amazed at Junjin's voice. With him being my favorite, mostly because of looks haha, I didn't know that he actually had that kind of talent in him.
I like how each member of Shinhwa has their own strengths that will allow them to continue to be successful even after their boyband days are over. I can't say the same about the other groups currently out. I do think Andy would make a great host and I hope Junjin will get a good role as an actor. I think he did well in Gumiho but seemed awkward in his other drama. I saw a few episodes of Person I Love and I guess Dongwan did pretty well. It was hard for me to see him play such a character and disassociate his real personality.

infiniti512, let's see... In terms of music, Minwoo is definitely my favorite. I don't like all of his songs, but I enjoy most of them, and I think he's probably the most all-around musical talent in the group. That's to say, he might not be the best voice (that's Shin Hye Sung) or the best actor (Eric?) but he's got the strongest all-around skill set when it comes to writing songs, singing, dancing, producing. Shin Hye Sung has a smooth, lovely voice but I don't really like his solo music -- it's kinda weak and blah for my tastes. Kim Dong Wan's solo stuff is kinda in the middle -- he's got a few bland ballads but a few tracks I like (written by Minwoo, not coincidentally). He is, however, a pretty decent actor. But I only saw bits and pieces of The Person I Love so I don't have enough of an opinion on his acting to make a definitive statement. Y'all know how much I dug Que Sera Sera and Eric was a large part of that. He still has a ways to go as an actor but I think he's improved so much and may be a better actor than he is a boybander/rapper.

Andy seems to have a nice, friendly, approachable personality -- while it's not strong enough for a genuine acting career like Eric or Dong Wan, it'll serve him well for MC'ing shows, and I think he does better in a group context. I think he's got his niche in the group but he's not the one with the most pop and flair. And Jun Jin... I was actually surprised to hear a single he'd sung because I barely recognized his voice from Shinhwa songs, which makes me wonder if he was underused in the group. But it could just be that he wasn't intended to be a leader but the guys each broke out with their own personalities in a way that they can now stand on their own, even their "baby" Jun Jin. I haven't seen Gumiho (9-tailed fox) so I can't comment on his acting; he has the serious, reserved image down pat so that can only work in his favor if he decides to pursue acting further.

Phew. I can't believe I know that much about Shinhwa, given that I've never gone off searching for info on them. But I suppose that's how ubiquitous they are in the k-pop-culture landscape; if you're into korean entertainment and pop culture, you're gonna run into Shinhwa in one form or another, sooner or later.

me me, Donghae shipper! i still cant help wishing them together! like ripgal! we love our Donghae couple and cant help wishing..ahhhh those are my fave Shinhwa songs too.. from the latter days..(eusha eusha was fun even if it was overly processed, IMO) i like their eigth album a lot.smooth, nice beats and rhythyms.. i still think they are cool despite the new boy/gurl bands.. they have this mix of everything for me, they are one of the few i really love.. and my choices for boybands i really like are limited.. Dongwan's good at acting, Eric too. Andy's hosting style i like, Minwoo is a great composer/producer/dancer, Hyesung is great at ballads.. Junjin is a good singer too, dancer. So yeah they rock.
