Waffle boy returns

Aren’t you glad there’s news on pretty-pretty model-actor Kim Jae Wook, aka Waffle Sun Ki?
This time, he’s making news for appearing in the music video for new artists Dear Cloud — for free. The band is described absurdly by Sportainment news as “British modern rock” (dude, British is a nationality, not a genre!), and its members are close friends with Kim Jae Wook.
Dear Cloud

I haven’t been able to get my hands on the music, but from what I’ve heard (via streaming), they’re mellow pop rock, like a quieter My Aunt Mary or — to go with the Britrock comparison — a bit like Travis or Keane. Which means I don’t know if I like them or not — they’re melodic and listenable, but could verge on bland. Or not.
Following the success of Coffee Prince, Kim Jae Wook had received lots of offers from big-name singers and artists to appear in their music videos, but he chose to focus carefully on his own future and declined the offers. However, upon hearing that his friends’ band was coming out with their debut album, he wanted to offer whatever help he could, and made the proposal to appear in their music video, under the condition that he wouldn’t get paid for it. He explained: “I’m really glad to have been able to participate with my friends in their first step into the recording industry.”
Dear Cloud is with Antenna Music, the same company managing Toy and Lucid Fall, and their title track is called “μΌμμμ” (Ice Fortress). You’ll have to wait till mid-November to see the music video, but you can start drooling now.

thanks for posting this! it seemed like there was more info/news of upcoming projects for the other actors of cp, but not very much for kim jae wook. ^^;; ooh, and he modeled for an an too? i’m looking forward to the mv! but to wait ’til november… :[ as for dear cloud, i do like “brit” rock depending on the mood i’m in. if for example, i’m in a mellow mood, i like listening to keane…but other times i prefer other more “intense” genres? haha. XD
He’ll also be in the new Antique movie.
..still looking for some/any promo pics for that.
Yeah, he’d be in Antique Shop movie with Joo Ji Hoon [Goong]. There’s a thread in Soompi, with loads of yummie pics
Thank you
Yes he will appear in “Antique” movie with Jo Ji hoon, Choi Ji ho, Yoo Ha in.
He’ll play the character “Son woo”.
Movie director is Min Gyu dong.
Also “Ha rim” form Coffee Prince played in the MV from “8eight” band.
Haha. Waffle Boy. What an endearing term and ‘delicious’ memory from Coffee Prince. Sigh. There will never be another drama like that for a while…Sidenote: I used to love jdrama and this actor called Naohito Fujiki. I tell you KJW is a deadringer for Naohito! Javabeans, I don’t know if you watch jdrama but if you ever have a chance, watch ‘Love Revolution’ with Naohito Fujiki and Esumi Makiko
thanks for the great news! can’t wait to see the mv and drool over kim jae wook! XD
Hmm..I wonder what kind of project he’ll pick up next.
I can’t really picture him as a typical lead in a cheesy kdrama. o.o
He might fit into something like Mixed-up Investigative Agency. lol
OMG he’s way too hot..:P
Ahaha, surprisingly, I was not super crazy about Kim Jae Wook when Coffee Prince aired…but I totally respect him for his acting though.
he has a cool look.. & soulful eyes.. i like his acting.. can’t wait to hear dear cloud…
ahhhhhhh!!!!!! i love him!!! i want him to be my husband!!! in my dreams!!!
He’s so sweet!
Now I like him even more. XD
Cool news. But actually, British modern rock is like how people describe bands similarly with the term Britpop - aka Coldplay, Keane, Travis (like you listed) and could be considered a genre by the word “British”, since they’re distinctly different sounding from any other modern rock band from say the US or Canada, for example.
Because “British” differentiates the sound from say other modern rock bands in the US that sound nothing like British rock, which do collectively have a similarity that ties it together as a genre.
