Gong Yoo and Kang Dong Won… related?
by | November 4, 2007 | 17 Comments

Well, kinda.

The family (in-law) relationship between popular actors Gong Yoo and Kang Dong Won has recently come to light.

Kang Dong Won has recently given interviews mentioning his family ties to Gong Yoo, explaining, “Gong Yoo’s grandfather and my grandfather were close friends since childhood, and vowed kinship as each other’s family.”

Kang Dong Won first mentioned the information at a 2005 fanmeeting for actress Ha Ji Won, before the release of his move Duelist. He revealed that he’d only come to know of the kinship the year before, although he has not explained the details of how the relationship came to be.

Apparently, that wasn’t exactly considered newsworthy back then, but now that Kang Dong Won’s more visible from his recently released film M, and Gong Yoo has shot to fame with Coffee Prince, it suddenly seems more interesting, doesn’t it?

They both make me ask myself “Why can’t American boys look that pretty?” It’s upsetting….

    HAHAHAHA “related”
Well.. in China.. I called all the close friends of my parents “uncle” or “aunty” so does that mean all of their children (with whom I became friends) are my “cousins”? Some of those guys were kinda cute.. LOL.
I’m not knocking the closeness and ‘kinship’ type relationships between their grandfathers – don’t get me wrong – but excluding ‘that’ are the boys (actors) close in a family-type way? That is the question.
Both rock my socks as actors though – and singers..?

Hehe…that’s cute. But it’d be a juicier story if one of them were a girl, or better still, if Gong Yoo and Yoon Eun Hye grandfathers were bosom buddies. Then they’d destined to get married like that drama with Lee Dong Gun and Han Ji Hye “My Bride is Eighteen”. :-)

Amen to that Evey Helm. The pretty-boy pictures made me smile :D . Thanks Javabeans
