Jung Il Woo’s girlfriend-y wishes
Young actor and soon-to-be university student Jung Il Woo, known for his “killer smile” (…which you can’t see in the pic, I know), is in a new movie, My Love. The omnibus film (several short films linked loosely by theme) features five separate couples, and its stars include Kahm Woo Sung, Choi Kang Hee, Uhm Tae Woong, Ryu Seung Ryong, Lim Jung Eun, and his love interest, talented young actress Lee Yeon Hee (at right).
His role in the film shows a different side to him than he showed in the sitcom Unstoppable High Kick, where he played a tough guy always getting into fights. Instead, this rather ordinary character doesn’t care too much his looks, and meets Lee Yeon Hee’s character, an underclassman at his university, when she asks him to teach her how to drink. But, at the press conference for the film on the 16th, Jung Il Woo admitted that if that were to really happen, “I’d be the one to get drunk first.”
He went on to reveal a simple if-I-had-a-girlfriend wish: “If I were to have a girlfriend in real life, I’d like to walk the streets of Myungdong holding hands.” That, naturally, agitated the two thousand fans in attendance, who then went wild when he and Lee Yeon Hee sang a cute song together for them.
The press conference-slash-concert also boasted performances from R&B singer Lyn, balladeer Sung Shi Kyung, Humming Urban Stereo and others. My Love opens December 20.
