i know of a lot of korean singers who had car accidents in the past..
i dont find it surprising though..
theyre all tired with their manager/s..(and the managers are almost always the ones who drive) early in the morning or really late at night after a performance somewhere..

I find that article incredibly stupid. I was involved in a car accident no more than 6 months ago, and it was something so traumatic and frightening that I would never want to experience it again. For the korean entertainment industry to associate and integrate car accidents with success is just mind-blowingly (if that's even a word) idiotic. Human lives are not to be messed around with, nevertheless for success. Stupid morons. Sorry if I seem to be overreacting, but car accidents aren't something to be taken with a grain of salt.

This kind of worries me. After saying, “we consider ourselves lucky in this accident," they go on to thank their fans for the success of their album. In a normal situation, wouldn't the person being quoted continue that conversation by saying how lucky they were to come out of it okay; to be safe; to thank God (if that's what they believe in) that nobody got hurt, etc? Instead, they follow it up with "We thank all the fans who’ve shown love for ‘Bad Love.'" I mean, sure, your album is doing great... but didn't that accident... lucky or not... phase you at all? The fact that they appear to value their safety so little is beyond disconcerting. And just what were they lucky about? That the accident contributed to the success of their album/songs, thus boosting their career... or that they survived it without any real injuries?

If one of them had lost an arm during the accident, I can just picture them standing in front of the camera, smiling, while waving their ONE good arm, saying, "Thanks for buying our album--that makes the loss of my arm totally worth it!" It makes me wonder just how far some people will go to be successful... I'm not saying they did it on purpose or anything... but still, it makes me think/wonder.

I remember thinking this was odd when Son Ho Young mentioned on Yashimmanman recently that such is the belief that singers have in the entertainment industry. He spoke of the accident during his G.O.D days, which had occurred right before the release of their third (?) album, and the album had shot up the charts at the time. However, he brought up the subject during the segment that was tied to the question, "When did you regret believing (acting on) a superstition?"(?, unsure of exact translation).

HOLY. what a load of bullshit!. It's almost saying, if you want to be a popular popstar, try to get into a car accident and try to experience near death, or kill yourself.

I'm starting to loose interest in some korean music artists because i keep comparing them to artists from the American music industries. There seems to be a bit of a different pop culture. If artists in the US were to experience accidents, i doubt their music becomes famous. People would shrug it off like it's a natural occurrence.

Ahhh but dear javabeans, using the F word.... f***ed up - it does explain the situation above quite succintly I must admit LOL quite a common word in many societies these days too (I use it too at times!!), but actually, what I so like about you and made you stand out differently from many was you can write it as it is from your 3D point of view, unbiased, kind, elegantly simple, informative, infused with humour, infused with intelligent personalised rantings inc. ... your writing is classily simple - so if you could, you so don't need to use the 4 letter word, for to me you are above that and I didn't expect it from you. Aisah.....I'm really old fashioned hoh *chuckles* but all my 4 letter words would come out when I'm behind a wheel and the other car does some dang dangerous thing!!!
