And I totally agree with you about Jang Geun Seok. The role could have been acted better if a capable actor was casted. But I’m trying to continue on hoping that he’ll improve on the next episodes since his role is critical on the story.

I am totally loving Kang Ji Hwan’s acting. He nailed the role with flying colors. And I especially loved it when his eyes does all the talking. Gosh, what a good actor.

totally agree with you about kang ji hwan taking this drama in another level. he shines. and i can forgive everyone else’s acting because of him. i just loveeeeee watching him shines.

Happily, there’s only a few more live episodes to go, and I should be able to pick it up at my local dvd supplier soon. Looking forward to pausing it during interesting moments, which means whenever KJW does something cute/sad/romantic/etc.

Haha, after reading your recaps for so long (i love them, btw, they’re so entertaining!), i’ve finally started watching the series. It’s truly very good, but your recaps add something special to them too, so i’ve been watching the eps while also reading over your recaps.
One thing i’ve noticed, though, was that during the scene in the beginning of this ep where Hong Gil Dong was fighting the guards or whoever, you said something about him finding the weapons store, but when i watched it realized that it was actually wine! (the word on the jars means wine in chinese, plus they look like the wine jars i see in ancient chinese dramas, unless those were merely storage jars?). I only noticed this because at the time i was semi-marveling at HDG’s ingenuity at using the wine on the fire burning all around them!
Anyway, Keep up the good work, i really enjoy your recaps, they add another level of understanding and enjoyment of the series =)

chang hwe’s bodyguard looks hotter than chang hwe does. i wish the bodyguard played the prince instead so i could see more of him.

i’m glad this guy plays hong gil dong. i think if joo ji hoon played him, then the playfulness would go away, making the drama too dry (sorry, JJH!). i love the casting, except for CH’s actor. >.< he’s okay, but could be better. he needs to move his eyebrows, his eyes, and his mouth(positioning of his smile) MUCH more.

This is also the first time I can actually watch Sung Yuri. She does over react but it’s better than her stiff acting from previous dramas.

As for Jang Geun Suk, don’t be too rough on him. Isn’t being emotionless part of his character? He’s emotionless because he’s basically a robot being controlled by Lady Noh. (Until Enok warms him up, that is… hehehe..)
