This week: People tell the truth for money (is that the only way to get that to happen these days?), American Idol is apparently under way again (I don’t really know; I’ve never seen a season through), Heath Ledger dies (RIP), and Ricky wins a challenge in Project Runway?! Something’s rotten in entertainmentlandia.
First, the answer to the question I know you’re all dying to know (lol): Yes, I am calm again.
I know it’s hard to believe, but I don’t actually haaaate Chang Whe — I can back off now that the knee-jerk rant has been exorcised. I still think he’s a disappointment as pertains to the execution of the character, and I don’t buy the “Actors can improve, so lay off” argument, because why should a viewer be told to restrain from criticism because an actor MAY, in the future, possibly improve? I care about his performance NOW.
But this isn’t a Jang Geun Seok bashing site, and he’s not terrible, just mildly disappointing in comparison to the other actors. I still reserve the right to wail on Chang Whe The Character whenever he deserves some virtual bitchslapping, though. Which may actually be less often as the story progresses. Perhaps.

Are Gong Yoo and Im Soo Jung dating? MBC every1’s news-entertainment show News Agency! Kura’s Desk thinks so; they’re reporting that the romance is on.
Last year, reports that the two were dating spread when Gong Yoo and Im Soo Jung were seen together at the Jeju International Airport in September. At the time, Gong Yoo issued a strong denial to quash the rumors, saying, “Im Soo Jung and I are merely good friends, and a group of our friends had met in Jeju Island.” Im Soo Jung, on the other hand, had an indirect denial, saying, “I’m touched, since this is the first time I’ve been involved in romance rumors in my career.”
Even amid heated interest from netizens, the two denied a relationship; the topic gradually faded away. But as Gong Yoo’s military enlistment neared (his service started on the 14th), producers of the show began taking more of an active interest, keeping watch over the star’s home and hinting that there’s proof of a relationship. But, naturally, they’re keeping mum for the present until they reveal the facts of the case (because it’s all about ratings!), in the January 25 episode of the program.
Now that the action has really gotten going, the silly humor has been curbed to manageable bite sizes, I think. There are still plenty of instances of the trademark Hong sisters jokiness, but it’s inserted at greater intervals and with a little more restraint.

F.T. Island - “너 올 때까지” (Until you arrive). I love the string intro on this, brief though it is.
