And I thought Lucy Lui is an American, as in born there and went to school there, that may also account for her unaccented English. On the subject of Rain, I kind of agree that Rain have to practice hard with his English as I've seen his interviews and he basically repeated the same phrases over and over again. Sometimes I got the impression that he did not grasp what the interviewer asked. Anyway, I hope, with the help to copious studies and practices he can overcome his language barrier as I also agree that no matter how good an entertainer you are when you speak your native language, when it comes to English, you may look like a simpleton/fool if you can only understand the basics and how can one even act in English? It won't translate well. Yes your fans like me will think Rain is cute, but to those who don't know him will automatically discount him off. For example, a lot of Malaysian dramas in English are a bunch of disasters as while the actors can speak great English, the emotions don't translate as well as when they are acting in their native language. Hey, if I am angry I'd rather say 'babi!!!' (pig, which is a curse word in Malay) than 'fuck!!' for example as Malay is my first language. No matter how great of an English speaker I am (and I can say I can speak well if you excuse my lapses in grammar and such), I am still more eloquent in my native language. This goes the same way for Rain, he must learn to master English, not just basic English but all facade of English if he wants to be a great entertainer in America. Having said that, I don't actually care whether he makes it in the US or not. Surprisingly, while many of his fans want him to succeed in everything he does, like voting for him at MTV Movie Award, we also love him as he is, the great and cute Korean entertainer who gives his best in everything he does ^^

Even though I crave to watch my idols on the Hollywood silver screen, part of me can't deny that Asian actors and actresses don't get very far in Hollywood, with the exception of Jackie Chan and Michelle Yeoh. No one can top Jackie's martial art and Michelle is very international. I still resent what they did to Jet Li and I don't know why on earth would Jet Li accept a role in a movie called Danny the Dog. Suddenly my kungfu hero turned into Danny the Dog?
