He may portray a curt, no-nonsense television PD in his role on On Air, but it’s geek chic for the fashion magazines — Park Yong Ha takes on round-rimmed glasses and a casual, just-rolled-out-of-bed image for April’s Elle issue.
Over the weekend, Sung Yuri held her first solo fanmeeting in her ten-year-long career (having pursued her acting after gaining her start as part of pop girl band Fin.K.L.). (An aside: Sung Yuri’s had a tough time gaining recognition as an actress, but I’ve been seeing articles floating around in recent days acknowledging that Hong Gil Dong just might be the breakthrough she needs to be called an actor. Her early role in Thousand Years of Love was panned; she didn’t fare much better in Prince’s First Love or Snow Queen. She’s admitted that her approach to acting has also changed over the years, and while I don’t think you could call her skilled just yet — her Hong Gil Dong role has been critiqued as overacting — it’s a sign that she’s improving.)
On the 30th, approximately 500 fans attended the two-hour-long event at Joong-ang University Art Hall in Seoul. Notably, the event was attended by her former Fin.K.L-mates Lee Hyori, Ok Ju Hyun and Lee Jin.
My big question heading into Who Are You? was whether the handling of the body-possession of Seung Hyo would create weird Electra complex moments for Young In. Thus far I’m glad to report that I haven’t found the developing Young In–Seung Hyo relationship to be creepy; and in fact Episode 8 brings more opportunities for their “real” (unforced, unrelated-to-body-possession) relationship to grow.

Napoleon Dynamite – “니가 없는 곳에서 노래를 부르네” (Singing in a place where you aren’t). Personally, I’m not a fan of naming oneself after a pop-culture phenomenon wholly unconnected to said self — why identify yourself in relation to something else, rather than create your own pop-culture identity? — but I have no complaints about the music of this indie band. Shinhwa members at their 10th Anniversary Live in Seoul concert, March 30, for which they sold approximately 22,000 tickets to their two performances. The group celebrates while boasting some questionable styling choices — I count at least three ajummas and a gigolo in their midst.
Meanwhile, group member Minwoo prays for another ten years:
The series is still funny and enjoyable, but now we get more into the mystery aspect.
Plus, Seung Hyo’s hard, cold exterior starts softening, which continues through Episode 8. Aw. Perhaps proportionally, Yoon Kye Sang’s really growing on me too, not just as an actor but as fangirl eye candy. And he sings! (Just barely, but that might be enough to excite G.O.D. fans anyway.)
