As for you black Americans or blacks from other English speaking countries thinking about coming to Korea to teach, don’t believe the hype.

It’s pretty much all hype. Yes, there are racists here, but I meet more racist white people here than racist Koreans. I’ve discussed it at length in my blog from time to time as the mood or experience strikes.

But yeah, I blog about whatever hits me upside the head…right now, it’s more left leaning politics and my new MySpace boyfriend John “I’m a liberal hotty” Cusack than Korea.

I think, for now, I’ve pretty much covered the basics on being black in Korea. I did the podcast, although I should maybe listen to it again and do a follow-up/update. But yeah, Koreans can be racist but if you’re black you know what racism feels like anyway and it’s not as bad as white folks, ironically, make it out to be.

re PopSeoul — they’re funny. Their m.o. is pure hate and, while it’s mean, it’s very funny. What I don’t like about PopSeoul isn’t so much what they say as that’s how they roll. What I hate are the idiot comments they attract over there. But a blog that is pretty much about saying mean things about celebrities is going to attract the same sort of comments that Perez gets. They entertain me though. I just usually don’t bother with reading the comments.

Finals…finals…and more finals. I have a crick in my neck and a sore in my legs.

2 more to go. So far, I got my biomedical lab grade back, and it wasn’t too impressive. I’m quite pist, but let’s just say that serving as a one credit course makes me feel a tad bit better.

I am spoiling myself lavishly once all of this is over.

You all made me, a babyboomer, feel so very old but coming to this blog everyday is a therapy to reinvigorate me from daily chore and humdrum. Javabeans, thanks for creating this haven

Oh ’75 is definitely Generation X. Basically if you were a fan of Madonna before she started staying “oh bloody hell”, you’re Generation X. If you think Gwyneth Paltrow IS British, then you’re definitely Generation Y. (And if you think Ben Aflleck is an ajhussi, turn off the TV and go do your homework!!)

Mm hmm. Rain and Colbert are the Pac and Biggie of our generation. Where previous generations debate the photos at Grassy Knoll and the global warming, we fight over the before/after shots of Song Hye Kyo or our favorite vato loco, Hwanhee. Smell the inconvenient truth Korea, stop getting nose jobs!!
