I’ll admit to being skeptical when I heard that the cute, bubbly Moon Geun Young would be dressing as a man in the upcoming period drama The Painter of Wind on SBS, but as with Yoon Eun Hye in Coffee Prince, she’s made the transformation (appearance-wise) more credibly than I would have thought. The drama stars her as a woman who dresses a man to pursue painting (which women couldn’t do in Joseon times), whose mentor is played by Park Shin Yang.

Moon Geun Young is a great actress. I’m confident that she’ll do well. I’m not quite sure what to think about the odd couple though. Park Shin Yang + Moon Geun Young. Who knows, maybe it might work.

Wow! I’m amazed by her transformation. I was skeptical at first when I found out about this drama, but now I’m just wishing for it to be good because I know that MGY is already a good actress.

One could go as far as to say that she looks more boyish than some of the boys in the kpop industry at the moment. But they’re all pretty girly so it’s not really saying all that much to begin with but yeah… *stops rambling*

i think he looks like a young guy though the way she was holding the pen and book is still a bit girly .. but good for her for doing a credible change (honestly, i still think YEH’s transformation was more radical as she’s always looked really girly to begin with)..
but i really like MGY, she made me cry so much in Autumn Tale so hope this is a good drama (the guy seems to be a lot older though)

MGY’s dress-up is pretty successful, though I could still see a tiny trace of ‘her’ in the picture above.. Is this the first time PSY is acting in a period drama? I would love to see how that turns out to be.. BUT, not very optimistic about the pairing, crossing my fingers that they won’t turn out to be looking like father-daughter
