I know we’ve all probably been guilty of the “whorey Hyori” play on words at one point, but now she’s she’s just helping everyone arrive at that conclusion, isn’t she?
Here she poses for her promo poster (”It’s Hyorish!”) for her recently leaked third album (which officially releases in early July). Hopefully this time, her album makes news on the merits of its own songs (ha) rather than for ripping off others’.

The poster looks more like an advertisement for jeans than an album cover. For me personally, it’s all in the phrase “U go Girl”…it doesn’t seem like a great phrase to use on a cover. Or am I wrong?
Totally irrevelant question: Is it true that Hyun Joong (or however you spell the romanization of his name) from that boyband SS501 is going to star in the Korean version of HYD as Hanazawa Rui’s character? I’ve been reading it on Popseoul and K-Popped. Needless to say, I’m definitely disappointed if that were true (but if it’s true, I hope I’m proven wrong about my judgement).

In the Korean music industry (but this applies to most other countries) it always seems like in order to be on top you have to race to the bottom, close to gutter level.
It doesn’t matter if you’re a veteran now like Hyori or emerging from your tweens like the Wondergirls. The music industry will objectify and make you all equally slutty.
Its a shame they feel the need to market female singers in this way. I’m not opposed to using sexual allure in advertising or marketing but again its like a race to see who can exploit their sexuality the most for the almighty won.

i feel embarrassed for her. it’s sad if the producers and managers of her new album and the image knew what it sounded like and decided to market her this way. if it’s unintentional, it’s also sad that they don’t have a good english speaker to do some sort of quality check to make sure it doesn’t sound they’re calling her a whore.
