Oddly named innovations
by | July 23, 2008 | 13 Comments

I know this post is off-topic, but DongA.com brings us this lovely image of a newfangled device being called a “scissor bike.” I don’t know about you, but those are two words that, when put together, conjure up some pretty unfortunate images, but oddly it’s very apt (the bicycle folds upon itself for ease of carrying). I don’t bike much, but I’d actually get me one of these — more useful than a razor scooter, less bulky than an actual bike.

heh. similiar genre: the pocket bike..the most ridiculous thing i’ve seen thus far.

Ha ha. It looks pretty cool, though I don’t know how far you can bike with it!!! ;P

Oh Lord! Those wheels are tiny. How would one maintain one’s balance for long?
It looks like a really awkward position to be in while riding. Don’t think you can take it for long hauls.

The name sounds rather painful. Scissors and a bike are not a good combination for a name. I wonder how one would look riding such a thing.

    Um…that looks…painful.

    agreed…doesn’t look too comfortable!

haha novelty gift maybe? i’d stick to scooter and skateboard for function.

oh wow, how much does a thing like this cost? it doesn’t look very sturdy though… those wheels look like the size of CDs.

It doesn’t look comfortable, but I’d try it out just to see.

Ive actually seen some one with these. but they kind of look wierd. They are comfortable as bikes get, but just strange.
kind of like seeing a unicycle on the highway…..bad analogy but what ever.

how do you ride that? i think i’m gonna fall before i spin the wheel.

The wheels are so small, too much pedaling. Not very practical.
