hey hellolily,

i don't think you're whining about something stupid... weight is a sensitive issue with me too.. in part because i've always considered myself on the chubby side & also because i've gained 20 lbs due to taking medication for certain health issues in the last few years..

seeing women who are already thin & beautiful go to the lengths they do to make themselves even thinner & appear more attractive.. to be honest lately has been causing me a lot of personal angst... although i know better, it's hard not to think about losing weight rather than doing away with my vanity instead..

it doesn't help to consume so much kpop culture & entertainment where those issues are rarely dealt with in a sensitive or thoughtful way.. in my humble opinion, it's irresponsibility on the part of the entertainment industry, society at large, and perhaps human nature itself that's to blame for women's damaged self-esteem..

the day teenage girls stop being depressed about their appearance and we never hear of suicides related to self-image... i'll be able to say things are right in the world where issues of beauty & health are concerned...

Yeah, it’s easy for her to say.
I have no confidence in my body. There are moments where I'm content with my body but it's very fleeting.
Having a healthy body seems like it just isn't good enough.
I can be such a hypocrite. Don’t ask me to tell you honestly if I think you’re fat because I would never say anything to hurt your feelings even if I know I’m lying. That’s why I’ve stopped asking that question myself. I can’t show my insecurities around my friends who have insecurities about their own bodies.
My body is such a huge dissatisfaction and I have to face it everyday. I hate how I can’t wear certain clothes because it accentuates my problem areas. Being fat is like being flawed in an obvious way. I’m a rational being but this is the one irrational thing I can't let go. I hate seeing the fat on my body.
I lose a bit more confidence every time I see a skinnier girl and start to compare our sizes.
This issue will never go away.
Sorry if you think I’m whining about something stupid. This kind of positive effort (the campaign) really isn’t helping they way we would all like with a skinny model telling you to love your body. It seems like nothing could counterbalance the negative images that are constantly out there. Especially when you see your favorite actress shedding the weight even though she was already healthy to begin with.

Actually, Olive airs "How to Look Good Naked," so they might think that it is a good tie in/launching pad. They air the original British show, not the American show. I don't know if the show is popular, but I am always a sucker for the British show and the host Gok, is infectious. He's this tall, thin Asian gay men with face piercings and crazy hair and yeah. Lots of fun.

I would pay serious money to see a Korean version of "How to Look Good Naked"

So she used to be a model? It explains her long leggy good looks.

I thought she was a hoot in Bad Couple which I just so happen to be rewatching. I love her kookiness. She reminds me of Lucy Arnaz with her crazy antics.
