If that's what they're going to need to promote a horror movie, then it wouldn't be that great in the first place. It's a good call on the editing staff's part; having that unnecessary scene cut out can make all the difference. Especially for people's perception on the movie. It's not really smart to attract attention to things that were probably never essential to begin with and can easily be cut.
