Watching KMM act out Kang's personality in this drama brings to mind the character of Mr Rochester in "Jane Eyre".

Does anyone notice the similarity of the 2 characters where both are gruff & rough but caring at heart and yet unaccustomed to showing their emotions ?

The barking, rude and high-brow attitude of Mr Rochester seems so mirrored in KMM's portrayal that I think he'd fit right into the drama of Jane Eyre too (if there was one) : )

However, while Rochester becomes partially blind and happily dependent on Jane in later years, our story in BV doesn't develop further and we are not sure if RuMi gets to enjoy bliss with Kang in future or not. Or do they really part ways and never meet up again..

Hmm, maybe it's because Rumi loves him too much now, so she doesn't fight back as much, plus the fact that losing your hearings can really weaken one's spirit...who knows? But Kang Mae is always being hurt by the people he loves the most....ahh....I just hope we have a good ending...

I couldn't wait to watch the episode, so I read your recap (which I loved)!

I'm not usually slash crazy, but I can't help but think how cute Gun Woo and Kang would be :D Their relationship intrigues me a little more than either one of them with Ru Mi, even though I like her.

I agree with you about the Kangmi dynamic, in fact I was thinking the same thing. It's like she's always whimpering around him or something. I understand it in a way, I think how she sees him changed big time after that first concert, but I can't help but always remember when she was yelling "at him" on the phone. They need more of those moments :)

i preferred this episode more than episode 11.

i was also wondering why she didn't stand up against kang mae then, cause it does seem like the right time to do it. but then she has always confronted him in private.

but ouch, the cold remarks that rumi throw at gun woo is seriously deliberate. why she don't do that in private, really? i mean, she's not too happy to break gun woo's heart and her habit was to always confront in private. (see the ones with yi deun, kang mae...) so why durumi sshi, do you have to hurt gun woo in public????

Actually, i dont really that Rumi has changed. But that maybe Kang has an influence on her. Just like how she influences Kang in smaller ways. It gets better. And as a Kangmi shipper i dont think it leans so much towards when at the start it didnt. It was leaning the other way and some progress has been made. This just happened to follow the hug to i think its ok. Next few arent pretty, esps for Kang Mae and Kangmi.
Just IMO. love ur recpas by the way. thanks :)

yay! halloween is on a friday this year.I dont know where all you guys live, but I live in South Florida and we had a cold front this week. Its so funny because I am like freezing and its like sixty degrees! Its so cold that i can barely get dressed in the morning. I like the "cold" though. As for the drama, I am still watching episode 12. Are they going to add the extension? Because for the drama to end in three episodes would seem kind of rushed.

I have no idea what if anything I'm doing for Halloween. I better make a decision soon.

thanks for doing the recap!! I loved Bad Family and I agree with you about this: "Nam Sang Mi’s character fits the epithet much better." At this point, I think Gun Woo junior would make a better life partner for Gun Woo senior than Ru Mi.

I loved Lee Jia in Legend and thought she really got into character (maybe except for the last 2 episodes of that drama where she seemed to have turned into a totally different Sujini), but she seems to be lost in this drama- like she doesn't really know who her character is supposed to be and is trying to bluff her way through.
