What does winning the Olympic gold medal get a hot rising athlete? An ad campaign with a top star, of course.
“Marine boy” and two-time Olympic medalist swimmer (one gold, one silver at the Beijing Games) Park Tae-hwan is teaming up with Yoon Eun-hye to sell clothing for the apparel company Basic House. They recently coupled up to shoot photos for the winter line.
The clothing brand expressed a desire to go for high-profile stars to head their winter campaign, and I guess pairing a gold medalist with one of the most popular young actresses around oughtta achieve that nicely. (Although I don’t know why they had to give Yoon Eun-hye fake hair instead of letting her wear her own proudly. At least get good fake hair; she looks like she’s wearing a mop on her head. Or frazzled straw.)

word to what mars said. park taehwan is definitely an amazing swimmer, but mang, he’s not great at modeling [but then again, he's NOT a model]. he lacks expression in those photos. i think he looks better in ads and commercials for other things where all he has to do is smile

The juxtaposition of YEH doing her hot steamy model poses and him doing his “as long as I dont blink or breathe, I wont come out blurry” makes the shoot that much odder. That said, this is part of her day job and not part of his, so the comparison isnt fair.

He’s cute but to me he just looks like a little puppy. He doesn’t look like a model at all. And he’s just not the model type for fashion. Yea I agree, I hope he sticks to his sporting endorsements. He looks way more natural in the pool
