Model Kim Ji-hoo commits suicide. :(

WHAT. THE. HELL.
Following the suicide of actor Ahn Jae-hwan last month, following the suicide of Choi Jin-shil (whose death was related to accusations regarding her friend Ahn’s suicide) earlier this month, following the suicide of transgender entertainer Jang Chae-won just a day later, we have, sadly, yet another suicide.
On October 8, news was released of the suicide of model Kim Ji-hoo on October 6. Not many other details have been released, other than a police officer’s statement that this was indeed suicide (and not foul play).
Only 23, Kim Ji-hoo was a fashion model and actor, appearing on the MBC drama Before & After Plastic Surgery, family sitcom The Unstoppable High Kick, and tvN’s cable reality program Coming Out, where he came out as gay.
His body, found on the 7th, is currently at the hospital, with funeral services planned for the 9th.
UPDATE:
Apparently Kim Ji-hoo hanged himself in his room. While there was a recent header on his mini-hompy that said “In a little while, I’ll come to you in my next project!!” there were also postings that he put up on his message board on October 3 that displayed a downturn:
“Life is like the wind,” “What’s there to agonize over? Meetings are happy, partings are sad, everything is just a moment.”
He appeared on “Coming Out” and started being bombarded with hate replies on the Internet after coming out as gay.

OMG..this is just SAD…:(
So many deaths…
why are there so many people committing suicide? tragic
RIP, buddy.
I’m dumbfounded. I don’t know what to say. May god bless his soul.
But what is going on? I hate october so far.
Rest in peace….I am crossing my fingers that tomorrow..next week…next month we don’t have another car accident, suicide, or injury. What is going on?
this is scary. what’s going on right now?!?!
thoughts go out to his friends and family…
what’s is going on??????
i don’t know who he is, but too many news on suicides….something’s not right….
RIP
Seriously?? I don’t mean to sound rude and disrespectful, but I’m getting annoyed here. It really must be very tough to live under the spotlight constantly and I understand the pressures of a celebrity lifestyle amount to heights we can’t even begin to understand…..BUT they decided on this life. It was their CHOICE. Like Jung Jun Ho said to Choi Jin Shil before her death, this kind of stuff comes with the territory. And then when they can’t handle it, they can’t just fade out of the light like other stars who retire and go live as a private citizen (like whatever happened to Shim Eun ha?). Instead, they take the ‘easy’ way out for themselves and hurt the loved ones around them (Choi Jinshil’s 5 and 7 year olds!). By the way, I used to think she was more grounded than that. The way this is becoming a trend, I’m ALMOST left with no sympathy.
*Sigh. Sorry for my rant. Done.
I’m getting scared already with all of these can’t Korean Celebrities be more careful and cherish their lives? just think of all the people who love them the most before doing something really drastic…
may he Rest In Peace
Whoa. That was way harsh, Tai.
(I understand the frustration, and I feel it myself. But let’s not forget that being gay in Korea, or transgender as with Jang, is an unbelievably difficult thing. Not that that’s the exact reason, because I can’t know that, but there’s really no comparison for us Americans or Westerners, unless you think back about fifty years.)
like okay, is Korean celebrities hunted by sucieders??? What the hell is going on in Korea right now? 4 entertainers died in less than one month.. Is this for real??? Like come on!!! I guess depression must be a disease in Korea:
it’s really sad.I think something need to be done, I dunno..but a counseling group specifically dedicated for celeb might be of help?my thought goes to their immediate family members
wow….speechless. RIP
i feel like all these suicides are giving almost courage to the rest of the people who have been contemplating suicide but haven’t been able to go through with it. it’s so tragic
ohmygoshhhh. this is so sad. I’m not gonna lie, I don’t know who KJH is. But as soon as I saw the title of this post…I was just like..oh my gosh. Are you kidding me? It’s so sad. So many celebrity deaths recently. Hopefully something changes.<3
May he rest in peacee.
lulz at Korea and their “trends”.
to be honest i should be really sad and upset and empathetic, but after the majillionth suicide within this short amount of time, it’s getting quite out of hand.
I remember reading about an increase in suicides statistics in Korea after Lee Eun Joo’s suicide in 2005. It is the social effect of celebrity suicides.
It is scary. What if this is what is happening in Korea —Suicides (especially celebrity suicides) are reported and talked about frequently…and more people reading the news will accept it as a norm?? Obviously those who are in a fragile state of mind will be more influenced by these news….
hopefully this wont turn into the domino effect (i think it already has though)
As soon as I saw “suicide” in the title I said, “NOOOO!” Even though I have never heard of this person before, I’m really sad he chose to take his own life. I hope this is the end of it. NO MORE!
Erm. This is completely irrelevant, but as I typed in dramabeans.com, I suddenly had this feeling (deja vu? sixth sense?) that someone had died. When I actually saw the sad words “suicide” plastered on the page, I was very very shocked. RIP. So many suicides.
Wow. As soon as I saw this, I thought to myself, “Why doesn’t my grandma’s pet penguin just commit suicide now?!”
It’s really tragic to see all these people end their own lives, and I think that they’re all able to do this because they gather courage from other’s being able to end their own lives. Already, so many Choi Jin Shil fans have died. All those who were contemplating suicide suddenly see her ending her own life, and probably thinking, “Oh, why not me as well? If they can do it, then so can I.” Because they might be fans of that actor/actress or that celebrity is their role model or such.
And while it’s tragic to end your own life, it’s also not a very smart decision. Why should you choose to end something that others don’t have a chance at from the beginning or are cut short of?
that dude’s a model? wtf
rest in peace kim ji-hoo
suicide rate among gays is also higher in america – things are difficult unless you live on the coasts or major cities. only 23, sigh…
Oh my flipping cow… another one?
what’s up with people and suicide? I think it’s true that when suicide of someone famous, like the actress in Last Scandal of My Life, it’s usually common that there are a larger tendency of people to commit suicide. Well, it’s statistically more common that way.
=_= How sad. I just hope that the series of suicides will stop soon. NO matter how hard life is there is no reason to kill yourself.
Oh.My.God.
Another one? Wow…. This is so unbelievable… R.I.P
This has got to be one of the saddest moments of the Korean entertainment industry when so much actors have chosen to end their lives….
R.I.P to all of them…
I don’t think it’s ever appropriate to judge someone negatively for suicide. It’s easy as an outsider to say this and that but if you’ve never been affected personally by a suicide or (god forbid) contemplate it yourself, you’re really not in a position to understand the victim’s situation. Suicide is not an “easy” way out nor is it “selfish.” I’m not defending the people who do suicide because I don’t agree with it in any way or form, but I do know enough to not belittle their decisions.
Celebrity action will be followed for sure in any socio country life.
Live in Korea is hard but believe in God and proper education is the way to prevent it.
Korea must do something before things went overboard,( It has actually)
Read this article. One of the very comprehensive article regarding suicide cases in Korea. Yes, life in Seoul is demanding and depressing but their police force is taken everything lightly and their education too is taking everything too lightly.

@pabo ceo reom: Thank you. You took the words right out of my mouth.
Rest in peace, Kim Ji Hoo.

Read this article. A good one.

I didn’t know who Kim Ji-hoo was but…rest in peace and my condolences to his family. Another Suicide within the past month! But it must have been hard on him to come out gay since it’s so taboo in Asian culture- and in Confucian culture- and the Koreans are even more Confucian than the Chinese. I hope people will see this rash of suicides and pay more attention to their loved ones and extend their help to those who are in troubled times.
@SP: I don’t think it’s easy to take one’s own life. It’s easy to talk about it and think about it. You’ve even got people attempting it and then shirking it at the last minute- trying to drown themselves but at the final moment, come up for air. It is human nature to be resilient and preserve one’s life- even if it’s at the expense of other lives. To take one’s own life – something must be really wrong. A person who takes his/her own life- his/her mind exists in a different reality than others- a reality that tells her that there is no way out and that there is nothing to live for. In our reality, we see “of course, there is so much to live for! it will get better one day- if only I can survive this day”, but in the one committing suicide, all they see is darkness and it’s like they’re living in a delusion. So all we can do is pity them- for their pain and for a life lost. As for Choi Jin Shil- maybe because people think she was so grounded and strong that they believed she didn’t need help- that they missed out or brushed off her complaints. How often has one heard someone was clinically depressed or committed suicide and then people going “but he/she seemed so strong and happy”. Then in hindsight, they recount some troubles he/she had experienced. It also doesn’t help that Asians have a taboo against mental illnesses and seeking help outside the home.
Lord have mercy…
2-3 hours? maybe 1 hour ago I just posted about Lee Seung Gi. and relief it wasnt serious. and now I’m back and this?? Holly Molly.
Korean really have to do something with their celebs. what if one by one drop when they’re hot? I’m getting a mild heart attack here. Ihope this will be the last death among K-stars for this year. and the coming y ears.. enuff is enuff already. Join a group, go to church or whatever beliefs, DO SOMETHING.. and don’t drink Soju. —–>( should be banned )
RIP Kim Ji Hoo.
this goes to show you that there should be some type of reform within the Kentertainment industry. the lack of a support system is very telling when actors, actresses and models feel like there’s no other way to alleviate their hurt than to take their own life. i hope ppl address this situation soon b/c if the entertainers feel hopeless to this extent, how must the regular citizens handle their hopelessness?
depression can be a killer and it seems it very hard for celebs to find any help in dealing with it and the pressure of bad press and cruel remarks by the always present anti-fans.
I think living in Korea is hard enough but in general in any country and in any circumstances, no matter what suicide shouldn’t be an option. They are many peoples who suffers of depression in many poor, develop or growing country but still in many options suicide shouldn’t even on the list. But once it become a trend, we forgot that we have God no matter how much or how deep we suffer.
I’m more concern for the youngster in Seoul more.
In previous I have read one article which is a very good insight regarding the trend in Korea society now a days. For a foreign who live in Seoul.
metropolitician.blogs.com/scribblings_of_the_metrop/2007/01/on_suicide_in_k.
A full condolence for his family.
this was just a shocker. when i saw the heading.
i cant believe it. another one.
its a huge shock.
its just so scary to think..
its happening one after another too.
@hee jae, did cjs fans really do that?
“Already, so many Choi Jin Shil fans have died.”
they really did it after learning their idol did it?
@asianromance,
you made a good point there..
its always in hindsight i think we see all those possible clues.
and realize something could have been done..
or that person was calling out for help..
we never think the happiest people on the outside or who seems so grounded.
something really should be done, this is becoming a trend for celebs..
may he rest in peace.
I’m always so scared now to visit this site because I don’t want to keep seeing posts of deaths/suicides/accidents and I hate that now before I hit ‘enter,’ “Will someone else have died today?” runs through my head. Even though I’m not that familiar with many of the stars every time I read about a death I feel like someone’s knocked all the wind out of me and I just feel emptier with every death. It’s indescribably scary how so many people, not stars, are dying. With all these deaths upon us, I’m sure a lot of people out there are doing a lot more thinking about the actual meaning of death, and I can’t imagine how sad someone is that they prefer the finality of death over life or living for their loved ones. Gosh, I live tens of thousands of miles away and I’m not even familiar with half of the people dying and I feel like even I can’t handle it.
RIP, please don’t make me write that ever again.
@asianromance:
I see what you’re saying. However, this is a woman (Choi Jin Shil) who we all saw fighting for custody of her children with tooth and nail. We don’t know that she committed suicide as a direct result of the harsh media, but we do know that during her final conversations consisted of lamentations about the situation. Here’s a woman who got through a messy divorce and showed us she can pummel forward and show everyone her strength through her work and being a mother. What made her lose that resolution so quickly? It’s hard to believe that she didn’t already know that showbusiness can be cruel with a career as long as hers. With that said, I agree that she may have been brushed off as a woman who can stand alone, but her depression then would have had to start long ago for me to believe a woman like this could commit suicide simply because of media scrutiny.
I actually stand by my original statement that suicide is the easy thing. When a person is committed to seeing it through that is. The person is either determined or betrays themselves in a moment of false judgement without letting themselves think about it. The person who has a hard time committing suicide actually sees that life is worth clinging onto. Isn’t that what makes them hesitate? Thinking about family, friends, or just the fear of the unknown, makes them cling to life and the familiar. It’s what makes them struggle for air the last minute. Otherwise, it would be easy to just expunge the remaining air in your lungs. The brave thing is to face responsibilities, face the people you were about to hurt, face judgement. Because that’s the hard thing.
There is ALWAYS another option, and someone who turns to end things without exhausting other options – that’s taking the easy way out. I do agree with everyone that Korea’s counseling methods or outreach efforts need to improve immensely for both private citizens and celebrities, as well as for students (remembering back to the high suicide rate for students who failed their college entrance exams).
Totally agree with you, cinderella and pabo ceo reom.
Fuck! What is wrong with Korean ?
Gosh! This is my birthday month, i should be happy. I was sad enough for Choi Jin-shil. I pray it will stop. Maybe if they are sad or depressed they can come here in the Philippines to meet happy people like us. There are so many Koreans here and we love anything Korea. Just ask anyone who’ve been here.
To My Korean Brothers and Sisters, be happy always and cast all your burdens to God.
oh my god..i really have no words…
im not trying to rude or anything but…i agree with SP
might i say i dont know what the people who commit suicide go through to take that decision..but i think suicide is not the only option and not a wise one…
it effects so many people and not only the famly and friends but people who read and hear these things may think that ending their lives might be easier than facing and solving the problem…
i know the whole ordeal with being gay and transgender can be a problem in korea but im sure there are other ways of solving…
anyway enough of my ranting…
RIP
There are reasons why, in some countries, there are restrictions on the reporting of suicides (and the portrayal of suicide in drama). The ‘domino effect’ being one of them.
just one word…… we can judge all we want, we are not in their shoes, only when we are in their shoes THEN can we talk about it…
for those who have not given birth, how can they say they know wat is birth pain?
Peace!
Weren’t the authorities concerned about copy-cat suicides after Choi Jin Shil ended her life? This problem is only going to snowball if they aren’t going to do anything about it. Mental health seems like a major issue in Korea and it isn’t helped by the entertainment industry glorifying suicide in just about every single movie/drama/MV.
Man, I actually wished I was born to be a Korean – but now what is wrong with Korean?????? I’m still not over Choi Jin Shil’s death, I have been liking her forever since the days I watched “You and I” back in 1997.
Happy EARLY HALLOWEEN!..
i am numb about this suicide thing.
who will be next on the list? i wonder.
may these suicide-rs really find peace and may they not feel depressed wherever they are now.
i maybe rude…but no amount of rethorics will make me understand the state of mind of these celebrities and ordinary people committing suicide. i abhor the act as it is very selfish…suicide is a NO NO to me, just like i abhor murder and euthanasia. life is a gift to waste it to nonsense. everyone has his/her purpose in this world.
I wouldn’t be suprised if there are more suicides, due to the copy cat effect and all.
Kim Ji-hoo?
I’m sorry to hear that!
After reading the title of the article, I couldn’t help but expect the comments of people who judge and comdemn those who committed suicide. Boy, was I not wrong. I don’t get why we all can’t respect everybody else, no matter who they are or what they’ve done. If you don’t understand or despise the act, fine, but can’t you show a little respect for the dead? What does it matter how one died? He or she’s gone now.
Holy crap! I was just thinking about that Ahn guy died in the fire that there wouldn’t be any copycat suicides. It never occurred to me that more celebrities would feel comforted by the fact that so many others are doing the same. >.> The only bright light I can see in this is there are no copycat suicides for the fans to follow their idols.. that would be bad.
Oh goodness. Rest in peace, Kim Ji-hoo, and all my love to his family and friends.
@SP:
Suicide may be easy by some accounts, and there are always other options, and it IS incredibly painful for those who survive you. But you have to understand that when most people make this choice, they can’t see the other options and in many cases they believe they are improving the lives of those around them.
I’m not saying it isn’t awful, but I’m saying that we really shouldn’t be judging what deceased people have done. What we SHOULD be doing is using what we learn to help other people who feel so hopeless that they would consider ending their life.
And I hope Korea’s doing a lot of that right now…I know the country has a high suicide rate, and these high-profile incidents unfortunately only make it that much higher.
what the hell? my first reaction is at how unbelievable/unreal this sequence of events is, now…
I just keep thinking about what this says about Koreans, culturally… celebrities should ideally set a better example for everyone.
Well, RIP Kim Ji Hoo.
btw, javabeans, when/where is the KJH selca from?
oh bother. it’s his life. and not much of a cute looking life anyway.
yawnnnnn.
That’s just messed up. I’m starting to think it’s a bit of a conspiracy for the last three who died cus it’s just too close with each other.
ok i know im going to get a lot of comments about this but wutever
seriouslyy
this si getting retarded!!
just casue one person commited doesnt mean everyone has to join in
when someone kills themselves its supposed to make u stronger and help u live longer
not be like oh he killed himself so why not me??
WTF??
plus these ppl if they cant handle life and the stresses along with it they deserve to die
with choi jin shil i understand that she died b/c of the slandering online and everything
but wut do u expect your famous and obviously ur goning to get ppl that hate u
its jes how its
i liked her very much
but seriusly she should have held on atleast for her little kids
i mean so wut if ppl call u bad names
her kids still love her more than anything in the world and she couldnt hold onto her will and live on for them??
now they r nburdened with their mother’s weakeness for the rest of their lves…
and
seriously why do u kill urelf??
b/c u cant deal with the world??
if it was like that then all us should kill ourselves too
i mean
LIfe is too important to take it seriuosly!!
im seriusly mad now!!
this just getting to be too much!!!
if u cant handle all this then u should not have been a star or famous in the first placee…
seriously dont they knoe the one fault of being famous is that there will be a lot more knowing about ur business.
where u poop, pee and have sex with ppl will know
and if u cant handle then u shouldnt do it in the first
Fame comes with its own consequences!!
That’s too sad for words. D: At this point I think society needs to examine what’s going on that’s resulting in all the suicides – copycat issues aside, the number of suicides is still unusually high. I don’t mean to be insulting, but how seriously is mental health viewed in Korea?
@SP: I had asked my prof in psych class (not using CJS’s name or situation or anything), and he mentioned that sometimes people who have been through a lot will break at very slight pressure because they’ve been through a lot – their coping mechanisms have been worn down to nonexistence.
To everyone who says they ‘deserve’ it: Regardless of who it is in specific cases, compassion is called for. We weren’t there, we didn’t know what happened, and we were definitely not in their minds. Don’t dare to presume you can judge them.
so sad … i don’t know much about him, but why all these suicides? why? i hope anyone who knows anyone that is down in the dumps … cheer them up! it will really help out.
Is this Kim Ji-hoo e person whose on Love and marriage ?
I was going to comment that his suicide may have had something to do with his sexual orientation…that is, how he was treated after he came out. I can’t imagine life being very easy for him in such a conservative, traditional country. My own mother has said that there’s “no such thing as ‘gay’” in Korea. (This was only a few years ago!) *sigh*
And I just noticed that you have a whole tag for deaths. Man, this is awful. What in the world is happening? I don’t know what to say.
What is it in the Korean air these days that makes it so tragic in the last few months?
This suicide madness MUST stop!
wow
Once again I’m saddened to read of another person resorting to taking their own life. I don’t think this is an epidemic in the entertainment industry it’s just more newsworthy! People from every walk of life are taking their own lives every day.
Suicide is not easy! If you’ve never been in the position of considering it (and I have) please don’t rush to judgment.
*reads comments* Oh God! *shakes head sadly*
@Dramatic
“plus these ppl if they cant handle life and the stresses along with it they deserve to die”
*Deserve*?!? Are you for real? Deserve??? The mind boggles…How could you say that? Seriously, where’s your compassion? And anyway, who says all these deaths are correlated? It’s not like a person wakes up one day, reads the news, sees people have committed suicide and goes, “oh what shall I do today? But why not, I’ll just kill myself because Mr. X and Mrs. Y has done it before me”. Pfft! *That* is -and I quote one of your words- “retarded”!
All these celebrities are *people* in the first place. They might be actors, models, singers, whatever, but they’re *people*. Never, ever forget that! You can’t know what they were going through, you can’t know what their problems were and/or if they were related to their careers, so please do not bash them just because you don’t understand or loathe what they’ve done.
@Sevenses: yes, exactly! You took the words right out of my mouth!
@ginnie
You’ve hit proverbial nail on head. ‘domino’ effect of a high-profile suicide is a sociological phenom. Moral and ethics of the decision aside, the motivations leading anyone to contemplate suicide are powerful. Difficult to deal with, especially alone. Does Korea have a national mental health institute or a spokesman? If cultural taboos are still too strong, then unfortunately, Sarah’s site will be taken up with more such reports. RIP to those who’ve left us.
i think i recognize him from Before and After. it is really sad.
i just don’t like it when people say it is selfish, cause if you haven’t been there then you shouldn’t judge. i can’t imagine the pain these people must have been through. people everywhere have been saying, if only they were more religious they wouldn’t have. give everyone a break, people from every religion have committed this act. suicide is really bigger & a lot more complicated (than religious beliefs, rumors, etc.). it is a part of depression, a mental illness. healthy people do not think about suicide. hopefully people won’t feel ashamed to seek help. sorry i just had to rant.
i really hope next year will bring some positives (marriages & births), cause it is just depressing hearing this news almost every day.
Invisibelle, I’m not positive when they were posted by they were from his mini-hompy, which has since been closed.
Javabeans
question is he the one on Love and Marriage? my work site is block all your
picture. thanks for the information. It is so sad. Life is so precious.
depress is a disease if you dont know how to deal with the problem
and the problem become a dead end.
thanks.
diane — no, the L&M actor is Kim Ji-hoon. Thankfully he’s alive and well.
Ok, seriously, it wouldn’t be wrong at all to say that this year is full of death and tragedy for the K-entertainment scene.
I’m personally a bit iffy about gay relationships; I have nothing against the actual gay people. But leaving hate comments just because he came out about being gay… I’m feeling yet again the unrestrained cruelty that’s so common on internet message boards, especially Korean internet pages. No doubt those comments played a part in Kim Ji-Hoo’s decision to commit suicide. RIP
Truly sad. I pray that others will find the peace and support they need in their life to avoid this. I can’t imagine feeling so hopeless at such a young age.
People, can’t we be a bit kinder to each other. We don’t have to give a blanket approval but what is with all the hatred being slung around
I thought about my own blog and WHAT IF people started leaving hatred messages for me and express freely that they don’t like what I do or just hate me for who I am. When I thought about that…putting myself in his shoes, I don’t think I can take it either. It is embarassing…it is hurtful. What if others in real life thinks the same of me if mere strangers dislike me that much already?
Sometimes I feel that even on Popseoul, the comments can get very uncontrollable. Of course, the bloggers on that site post hurtful words about celebrities and does invite similar type of responses…but I am not sure where this leads us. Where do we stop? They are not healthy conversations to have. We wouldn’t have these type of conversations in real life, I am not sure why we tolerate such hateful commentary online. It is too easy to hurt feelings online..and walk away without knowing what effect those words have or meant to strangers.
diane— I am sorry to mislead you. Thankfully, I am not the target of any hateful replies on my own blog…I said “What if” this happens to me.
thanks Javabeans. This is so tragedy. we should except people whose they are.
too many critism.
Ginnie
I am so sorry to hear that, what you guy are doing on Blog is great.
you have put alot time in to research the information and post.
people should appreciate. I had learn alot from Javabeans.
since i am not Korean. Learn about culture and more.
because some of the drama that I like, i could not able to understand the korean
but the body language i can guess, but javabeans had time to translate to everyone thru her blog. people should appreciate instead of criticize.
I give all you a thumb up of all your works.
thanks.
WHAT THE HEL?
there is like a suicide madness in korea!! OMG!
depression and suicide does not only happen in korea
Goodness. People are acting like all koreans are depressed and suicidal.
man so many deaths in this year its so sad when i had some one else was in an accident i was so relieved that they didnt die
2008 is a really bad year for actors/actress!!!
This is so sad…. I really don’t know what is going on with the Korean Industry anymore T.T I am really sadden by all these news, It is so sad the way Koreans miss treat their own stars….. I am in shock right now…..
I know depression and suicides don’t happen only in Korea however, it is the no. 1 country among Asian countries of people who commit suicides that should said something……
How sad… another Korean actor committing suicide. Does anyone else feel that maybe these dramas we love that use suicide as the answer, might be sending a very dangerous message and contributing to the mindset of these young people?
i swear this suicide and Jang Chae-won is connected some how…they must have been lovers or something. its sad…=(
^ yeah…
please do not let this be a chain reactionnnn!!!!!!!!!!!! i see it starting, let’s pray it stops and doesn’t go on any further T__T
I’m afraid now for my fave korean stars..I hope they will never do that if they are depressed..They should have faith in God……its a lost..OMG..RIP(how sad)
[...] this is bad enough, it becomes more troubling when you consider that this is the fourth Korean celebrity suicide in a little over a month. While this may just be an unrelated, purely [...]
WHAT THE FREAKIN’ FREAK???
Is the Korean society so judgemental and cruel that people feel the need to have to kill themselves? They’re dropping like flies.
This is sad and pathetic and needs to stop. Can’t these people realize that their lives are worth something? xX
First all of those car accidents, now this? Wth is going on?! You’d think people would be more careful and have a different outlook on life. -.-
It really must be unspeakably hard to be gay in Korea. I lived in Korea from 2006 to last June this year, and even most young Koreans I met there insisted there were no gay people in Korea. Of course there must be just as many gay men and women in Korea as anywhere else and it horrifies me to think of these people who can’t be who they really are and are getting pushed toward marriage and procreating like everyone else in Korea. Horrible. It took lots of guys for this man to come out in a society like this and it’s truly tragic to see him unable to stand against the backlash.
Man. What’s up with the harsh antis? It seems like every suicide so far has been connected to hate messages from antifans. omg. they really need to stop. korean society is just so rigid…
rest in peace, kim jihoo.
i think it’s chain reaction of choi jin shil’s suicide
those who have been going through a hard time for a long time and have been thinking about suicide for a while, is finally acting now. especially gays and trans genders because so many people are critical towards them
I seriously think that something should be done about these crazy anti fans because this is really getting out of hand. Gosh, aren’t there any guilt when things like this happens? Didn’t they learn that there are consequences to their actions?
It’s appalling when people put themselves at such high esteem to see fit to judge and sentence someone else just because they are celebrities or they lead a lifestyle different from societal norms.
Man oh man. Too many suicides. Sighs. Not surprised though. I knew that there would be more korean stars committing suicide..it’s like the trend for them. They think it’s the only way to end their pain. There should be a stop to all of this.
I’m not even surprised that he commited suicide. Ever since Lee Eun Ju committed sucide, it became a domino effect and the number of korean stars committing suicide have increased ever since that.. They should know that suicide is not the answer. They’re being selfish and it’s a cowardly act. Why don’t they think about their adoring fans and family?! sighs…
Why?Did he?commits suicide..
