Sitcom” comes from “Situation Comedy.” It’s a TV show that is one situation, which returns every week for you to watch. And, of course, it should be funny.

For example, “Friends” is a sitcom. The situation is a group of friends living in an apartment. And, it was funny.

Some sitcoms aren’t very funny at all. Or maybe I just don’t understand them.

I remembered both Dae Jung Geum and Ju Mong were aired at twilight time, also most Thais are simultaneously stayed home and watching them. The traffic was smooth. But “VN”, it’s less popular than both and all supports came from teenagers. Finally, I think it’s OK. for the best top one, reasonable way…….

In Thailand, we got the “Korean Wave phenomenon” for 5-6 years and go on……
It’s a landslide effects…. last decade, everything on fashions and series were JPN, but it’s absolutely changed once Koreans come……..:(

I think “Korean Fever” make the motto “Rome wasn’t built in a day” comes true, but Rome of course couldn’t be built without the hard-working Romans. So do Koreans too.

An episode of a prime-time drama is usually two hours long (including commercials). A lakorn usually is a finished story, unlike Western “cliffhanger” dramas, but rather like Hispanic telenovelas. A series will run for about three months. It may air two or three episodes a week, the pattern usually being Monday-Tuesday, Wednesday-Thursday or Friday-Sunday.

A channel will air three lakorns simultaneously at any given time. Because they attract the most viewers, each channel competes for the most popular stars. While the “best” lakorns are shown at night right after the news, there are ones with smaller profiles (and shorter run time) in the evenings at around 5 to 6 pm.

In some cases, primetime lakorns are also shown on re-runs a couple of years after their initial release, in the afternoon.

Most of Thais are addicted to Lakorn, and others are love to watch foreign series e.g. USA., Korean, JPN on cable TV or someone else is a football mania

I agree with robbo4 that it’s something about YEH’s face and personality that drew me in. She is just too cute.^^ I love all her dramas equally, but the Vineyard Man probably has the best scenery. It makes me wanna get away from city life and live in the country side surrounded by vineyards and orchards. Anyway, I can’t wait for YEH’s next project.
