Another hero role for Lee Junki
After a short break following his sageuk drama Iljimae, Lee Junki is back with his next project: an SBS weekend drama called Strange Heroes (working title).
In Strange Heroes, Lee Junki is a man who’d spent his life using his genius purely for the sake of furthering his own success. Upon a loved one’s death, he realizes belatedly the error of his ways and decides to fight against the evils of the world on behalf of those who are virtuous but weak.
(So: Iljimae v.2.0? Or perhaps it should be v.3.0, given that a second version is already in the works with Jung Il-woo playing the folk hero in Return of Iljimae.)
The drama will pair Lee’s lead role with pathetic or oddball characters in fighting crime, which gives us the “strange heroes” of the title (so, more like Hong Gil Dong v.2.0 then?). It’ll air next April.

I guess that means LJK’s sorted out his issues with his management, it was a bit scary to hear that he might’ve been prevented from doing dramas till 2013. That would have been a shame.

just finished Iljimae (yeah i know i’m late) and can’t wait 4 LJK next project. hope it has more romance in coz Iljimae just lack soooo much of it.
maybe they can pair him with someone more of a though female character. coz LJK face is so beautiful and i don’t think any female can compete with him.

Another sageuk? I was hoping he’d come with another action packed drama like time of Wolf and dog. Sageuks are getting kind of old lately since they’re airing left and right. Wasn’t there news that Jun Ki’s career was going to be frozen for several years due to some contract issues? I guess he won that case since he’scoming back with a new drama.

Hmmm, I wonder how this new show will be. Will have to wait and see.
HIs face fits the genius type, but i hope this will not be a sageuk drama. I prefer him fighting using his brains and wits rather than his brawn. He tend to over-act when he’s being beaten. besides his face is too beautiful to be beaten.
I would love the plot to be like Leonardo Di Caprio’s “Catch me if you can” movie.
Anyway, whatever it is i will surely watch it =)
Lee Jung Ki’s management released a statement that this is still rumor and that he hasn’t confirmed doing this show or movie projects that’s been connected with them.
LJK probably doesn’t make any official commitments until his legal problems clear up.
FWIW, if this is a SBS weekend drama, it won’t be a saguek.
wait. isn’t he going through legal problems? isn’t there something where if his management company (i think thats who is suing) wins, he can’t do another drama for 5 years?

This show sounds similar to something called Leverage that will start airing in December here in the US, it stars Timothy Hutton and looks good. With the “strange” clients it also sounds a little like Evasive Inquiry Agency, which I really liked. I think anything with LJK sounds very fun!
