All right: After the third time trying to get through Episode 6, I think The World We Live In recaps are toast. Sorry, folks! I really thought I’d be able to stick it out, but a combination of not feeling the series, mixed with a general ennui, has convinced me that any recaps forthwith would be half-assed, and if there’s something I loathe, it’s half-assery.
It’s too bad, because I really, really enjoyed the first two episodes. I liked 3 & 4 a little less, but enough to continue. Alas, I liked 5 & 6 even less, and I don’t see this series picking up in a way that would re-engage me at this point. Some scenes are very well-written, but they come interspersed with some real snoozers.
If someone is interested in picking up the rest of the series, I’d be happy to post the recaps. But first, is that something you’d care for in the first place? (Multiple selections are enabled.)

i enjoyed more LOVE and MARRIAGE over this one.
LAM was a bit more interesting than this one which is a copycat of ON AIR and SPOTLIGHT…
many actors/actresses doing their come back and many are disappointing.
well, I hope someone does the recap of this series because I really want that.
and I knew that many people won’t be interested in the drama because people were expecting too much from this drama… they sat high standards for it and forgot to just watch and enjoy the drama as it is.

this drama is such a bore. the two leads are stoic and obnoxious. the support cast is better but the storyline focuses too much on the two boring leads.

I tried so hard to like this drama because of SHK but simply cannot get into it. I think a lot other people are also trying their damn hardest to feel this drama due to writer and PD combo but it’s just not happening.
I think it’s now quite clear why the ratings are so low in Korea: It’s just not able to generate any interest, and worst of all, unable to _retain_ anyone who did give it a shot.
Gotta feel sorry for the Avex Group (Japanese company which bought the rights for 3 billion won), as they might soon figure out it will be incredibly difficult to get any returns on their investment.
The drama was somewhat interesting at first, but it quickly bored me. I tried hard to like it.

No worries. As long as people keep subbing and uploading, I’ll still be watching. It really is like a Soulmate number two. But maybe not as good. This has no cliches or usual drama scenarios.
No “incest”, deathly disease, or ridiculous acting.
It’s just a chill drama.
That’s more mature I think.
With the swearing and sex scene.
It’s just… calm.
Anyways. I’m still watching.
And because Hyunbin’s a smexy beast.
I shall keep watching.

I don’t blame you! When i watch the drama, I fast forward through 90% of it. I’m just watching it because I like seeing the main characters interact. The storyline and the acting aren’t the best, but I still think the pair are cute. But I’m sure you’re busy, and it really isn’t worth it to take the time to watch the episodes and recap the whole thing when overall, the drama pretty much lacking.

looks like WW is not everyone’s cup of tea. it’s an “easy goin” kind of series that is refreshing amidst all the usual dramas - that’s the reason why i’m sticking it out with this one.

If you’re heart is no longer in it Javabeans, then I respect your choice. Personally, I enjoy the drama. The only troube I have is that it seems that the story is heading nowhere, but I am still going to watch it. It’s the only drama I am currently watching right now. My favorite drama is Coffee Prince, but the drama that stole my heart is My lovely Sam Soon.The truth is unfortunately, I do not have the same passion for World Within than the other two dramas cited above. But I have to admit that World Within does not have the typical drama stuff: the guy is rich and stubborn, the girl is poor and sweet and somehow somebody always has cancer kind of thing. World Within I find it extremely refreshing and different!
So again if you do not want to recap it that’s ok, cause if you still recap your heart won’t be(the recap thing) in it cause you do not enjoy the drama! But I will still and always be loyal to Dramabeans regardless of this situation!

I only watch World’s Within when I’ve got nothing to watch too..stopped watching at ep 2, I kinda lost interest…even HB and SHK wasn’t able to make me continue to watch this…

I really really love your drama recaps, and particularly enjoyed your recaps of the drama ‘My Last Scandal,’ and although I haven’t been following along with Song Hye Gyo and Hyun Bin’s drama ‘The World We Live In,’ I was wondering if you happen to take requests for dramas, particularly daily dramas. I know that daily dramas are quite long and require a great deal of commitment, but there’s one that I’m trying to follow now without subs that I’d be ecstatic if you could write about every now and then. It’s a new drama with Lee Jung Jin called I Love You, Don’t Cry. Thanks a lot!!
I follow your drama recaps too because you write so well, though I like the pace of World’s Within right now, well you can’t please anybody, but I hope you’ll still consider doing it, even if another person will write it
ugh. *facepalm* I haven’t made it past the beginning of ep4.. I too really got such good vibes from the first 2 eps, but its lacking a spark of life that all the other good things about this drama don’t seem to be able to save. It’s such a shame, because there honestly is a lot going for it, and I’m sure it’ll be disappointing for the Worlds cast/crew as well as fans… To have so many people dropping out right at the start. =/ Personally I think if someone really loves it, they could pick up the recaps, because it may get better, and it would be good as something to keep an eye on for that reason. ^^ But honestly, as long as they’re well written! There’s so much to be understood here, that I think there’s really only a point if a person’s properly attuned to it all and can write it well.
Out of the other 3 dramas I’m watching online Worlds Within is the one I leave until last. I like the characters but ITA there does seem to be something lacking in the drama.
If you’re not into it, then really, don’t force yourself.
As I wasn’t going to follow WW, the recaps don’t really matter to me. I was always in it for the shiny writing skillz of Javabeans. ;D

I have to admit that I am fighting my own feelings with respect to this drama. Since I don’t understand Korean, I have to trust the translations. Reading it, every episode takes twice as long. Hyun Bin seemed quite good to me, while I was quite surprised how poor SHK’s acting is during the first episodes, and my opinion is that she is geting better as the series continue. I cannot say whether I enjoy it or not for its own sake. I do follow the episodes. I am waiting for subs but it is really sad not to have javabeans’ recaps.
I do agree that the expectations were so high that probably hardly any drama could meet it, so is it the actors fault? The scenario? I used to follow an Argentinian drama “Vidas Robadas”- the ratings were not the best, at some point there were even talks about cancelling the drama. However, it did last to its programmed end and I do think that it was one of the best TV products I had ever seen. (Had its own problems- for example, microphones that suddenly were seen in the frame
), but the drama was really good. Maybe the series will have the same effect.
I will be waiting till the end to see if it gets better.

I watched the first two episodes and I really wasn’t really feeling anything from it. I think you should just leave it and wait for another series to start up to recap…..like when Boys Over Flower comes out..

Well, I must agree that the drama has a different feel… And I think that the writer wanted to offer something different to all the viewers. And I guess the viewers are not yet ready for the change. Personally, I am rather bored with all the cliches that I watch in the past few months… that I stopped after a few episodes. WW is the first in a long time that got me hooked again in Kdramas.
So I am still watching Worlds Within… I love watching Hyun Bin & Song Hye Kyo together.. . Thank you for the hardwork Javabeans!
The way the story is developing is boring and uninteresting. The two main actors don’t seem to do a good job in acting. There is just no attraction for me to keep watching this series as well.

I love this drama, it very different from the other dramas that I have watched. I like the fact that the relationship between HB & SHK, is the most real I have seen in kdrama, there no “oh i’m scared to touch your hand, or kiss you on the lips”. They kiss, hug and intereact like most of us do in the real world, so kudos for that.
Well if you guys don’t mind I can continue recapping. I won’t promise is going to be as good as javabeans but I can try. Plus I really like this drama so I don’t think I’ll stop watching. Just let me know if thats ok.
I love this drama so far…really, really love it… i watched ep 7 already & i am still waiting for ep 8 to be subbed. if i am in korea i will watched this to boost the rating. i dont know why they dont like it. ive been watching so many dramas (korean, taiwan) for 1 year now…this drama simply one of the best for me…one of my top ten to watch (coffee prince, my girl, full house etc). i watch the recent dramas: love marriage ( it was ok for me but not highly recommended), beethoven virus (the ending my gosh, what kind of ending was that, i want to see the special maybe i will be satisfied), gourmet (so so, also not highly recommended). worlds within so far is good .The main leads are so cute & love their chemistry. their interaction with each other keeps me giggling like a teenager.

i haven’t watched this series yet. i think sometimes when i give up a series it was probably just me. i gave up on Alone In Love & My Girl, but then i gave them both another shot & i’m glad i did, usually it takes 2 to 6 episodes for me to figure out if i like it or not.
yours summaries of these dramas are really useful over time, cause i might watch something that was reviewed a year ago & its nice to read what others thought & things i might have missed or over looked. hopefully someone really enjoys this series & can volunteer to recap it.
I’ll miss the recaps because it is the only drama you are recapping at the moment.

LOL.. i agree with ditto. please do not go crazy and bitter over this drama or any drama. i enjoy coming and reading your blogs a lot. this drama did interest me because of the leads but i was never interested enough to watch it and never paid much attention to the blogs for this drama either but i enjoyed reading this one.

At first I was depending on the recaps to see whether I wanted to watch this. Now, I think I might be reading them just to find out what happens without committing myself to 16 hours. But that’s pure selfishness on my part.
If you’re not into the show, then you really shouldn’t continue. I’ll miss your analysis of the scenes, but I’d rather see you devote your time to a show that you enjoy.
I feel you.. this show’s gotten kinda boring and I feel like it’s going nowhere and I also feel like I’m watching daily drama series. Well, actually I’ve been getting the same vibe since the beginning. It seems to contain quite many cliches too. (I didn’t expect to see yet another scene where a couple run in the rain with the guy holding his jacket over him and his girl friend in this drama.) I’ll still keep watching it though cuz it shows different stories surrounding people making dramas.

Thanks for covering the first 5 episodes, but totally understand why you can´t be bothered to waste your time. I only started watching this because I was interested in the leads, but after the first episodes I couldn´t care less if they ended up together or not, cause it seemed like the most shocking thing would be if they didn´t. My credo: WW is 16 hours with lighthearted entertainment, nothing more, nothing less

well I can totally understand ur point of view…
but I cant help but love this drama still…
its refreshing to see a male and female in a korean drama engaged in a realistic relationship… not the ones where it takes 5 episodes for love interests to hold hands for the first time then 5 more for the first kiss, then one of them dying…
they kiss, hold hands, have sex (although SHK was extremely awkward in acting that particular scene out) and that kind of relationship what Id rather see in a drama…

Actually the show is getting better. I agree that ep 6 is the weakest episode so far (wanted to give up watching as well), but things really picked up from ep 7 and I’ve just finished ep 10 (it gets A LOT better).
Worth a mention that there’s a crying scene in ep 10 and SHG was pretty good there (a pleasant surprise after her bleh performance in the first few episodes). so peoplez you might just want to hang on yet.

i must admit there were times when i became bored of the series.. but i clinged to it because i find it interesting. the series has a new approach to dramas, living up to its goal which is to show everyone what PDs, actors and staff are undergoing behind what we hear and see in television. And to me, it really shows that even directors like JY and JO are capable to love, to kiss, to hug..just like normal couples do.
sigh. anyway, thanks for being once a supporter of the drama. i hope you’ll give it another chance.
World’s Within is one of the dramas with a very REAL touch of realism … most of the viewers are always in to dramas with “fairy-tale-like” storylines… this drama is so much in difference.. well, i admit that it has some dull parts but in summation, it’s a good drama… i think if you just continued watching it and deeply understood its every episode.. i think u’d be wanting for more..
the last episode was 50/50… it was great seeing SHG and HB being back together…their scene was terribly good but still, not really satisfying.. i want more of the happy scenes…
i love hyun bin’s and song hye gyo’s character being brought up together.. it’s a fusion of two contrasting personalities but mingles perfectly…
BORED me to death. I tried, I really tried….just for Hyun Bin…but I just could not get past episode 5…
I like spontaneous kiss between Hyoen Bin and Song Hae Gyo. That make this film so romantic and nice. Their act so wonderful
