Thank you so much for your constant updates for this drama. I don't think you are overdoing it, considering it's just about the only exciting thing in Korean entertainment right now.

I've got to say, I'm very impressed with the casting. Each character is so alike to its Japanese counterpart. But I have to agree with you, I'd like to see a Korean interpretation of this cult drama instead of a replica of the Japanese. Foremost, the storyline wouldn't fit Korean culture or societal values if they tried to stick to closely to the Japanese one. I hope the script is unique and can stand on its own as a truly "Korean" Hana Yori Dango.

ohhhh....can't wait for this to come out! I hope it's as successful as the Japanese one.

gotta say , every1 seems to fit in although jian-di's dad...i still dont know ; the pic of him seems like he's a serious dude but the rest is perfect but hmmmm...i wish the perm on lee min ho was more korean style than just extreme curls...i wish it was very wavy like the new generation of perm for men in korea :o...too bad but i think ill lyk it on screen hopefully.....i hope it'll hav nice ost ....Is there any news on who is doing the music ?

What I am actually anxious to find out is ......who will be doumyoji's mom....she's very important and that is one part of the storyline of HYD (the whole hatred of poor makino) that can relate to korean drama storylines

anyway , jus like every1 i hope the kr version will be the bomb of winter and as successful as the jp one...

I read somewhere that Jandi translates to "weed/grass" in Korean (Tsukushi is Japanese term for "horsetail", a grass.)

O.o He looks GREAT with the permed hair! *drools* or maybe anything Domyouji-ish turns me on, I don't know. XD As for Rui, I've always liked him, and I guess he looks the part.... but I have a natural dislike (read: hatred) for hair his length, or any longer. It'd be a homerun if it was a bit shorter... T_T (yes, I know I'm being superficial).

And Makino, hopefully she'll act stunningly, because she's reminding me of those flashbacks in kdramas where it's obvious they're not in High school no matter what. And the pigtails make it worse! The resemblance in all others just isn't there for her... So she won't be able to rely on it at all.

But everything else looks great. And expensive. Money must be pouring in. A sign Goong's excellent sets and costumes will rub off HYD's vibe as well? They have to, seeing how the Jdrama was one of the most expensive in Japan EVER.

Awesome! I can't wait. I wished they didn't own a laundromat though. Is that a very poor-paying business to be in when in Korea?

I will have to rewire my brain to these Korean names though. Or else I'd be calling referring them to the Japanese name/roles forever... Which will hopefully be wrong because the Kdrama will be different from the jdrama.

But don't you think it's very typical of the JE look? He looks like a member of Kat-tun, a really, really, really beautiful member of Kat-tun. :D

park ji bin will play her little brother??? OMG I LOVE that little kid! He was really awesome in Yi San, it'll be fun seeing him play her cute little brother.

Lee Min ho with the curls= hotness. But I question the styling of Gu Hye-sun's character when she's not in the school uniform. Makino never looked that dorky.

I'm not v familiar with the F4 cast, except for Kim Hyun-joong due to all the WGM that I've been following closely every week hehe. I hope Gu Hye-sun pulls off as Makino too, I really liked her in Pure 19!

lee min ho is pretty good in the newest installment of the public enemy franchise (by one of korea's best directors, jang jin) so i don't think he'll disappoint as tsukasa. granted, he only appeared in the movie altogether for about 10 minutes, but the scenes really made an impression. though he isn't as pretty as jo in sung or won bin, he does seem to have charisma.
the whole cast looks promising, even gu hye sun. i'm convinced she looks like a high schooler so no complaints there. kim hyun joong is beautiful and looks the part. i just hope his acting is passable (rui, despite his emo tendencies, isn't the most complex character to portray). i loved japan's soujiro (apparently he's like 1/4 or 1/8 korean, though no one knows for sure), but kim bum has a boyish charm that's irresistible. i don't know much about the guy who plays akira, but it's a role that korea could possibly do more with, given their fascination with the kkangpae underworld and "older women" couples...top from big bang would have been a great choice, but maybe he's too high profile to act in such a peripheral role.
it's funny that many of us hate cliches but are willing to turn a blind eye to hyd. since korea is an expert on the chaebol/zaibatsu prince and the virtuous cinderella pairings, they should put some effort into separating themselves from the other versions, while staying true to the "spirit" of hana yori dango. the fact that jandi's part-time job is different is promising, since it means the writers/directors aren't hesitant to depart a little from the storyline. in only a few weeks we get to finally see the korean version. i've been dreaming up my own cast since back when jo in sung, won bin, and ha ji won were still possibilities so it's pretty cool that i finally get to see what korea has done with it.

I really like this Makino, I don't think she looks older at all, actually I think she looks pretty much younger than Mao and Barbie did, I can totally believe she is a 16-year old girl. Plus she is cute and I like seeing Makino with short hair like the later part of the manga, even though I'll miss the pigtails :)

I'm really (I mean, REALLY) excited to see how the acting of Lee Min Ho as Domyoji will be, since the first photo I saw of him here I really thought he had THE Domyoji face (does this make sense?). If they can make this Makino x Domyoji pairing come anywhere close to what JunMao was, or even be the best Makino x Domyoji pairing EVAH (I'm probably expecting too much) I won't need anything else related to Hanadan in my life, because they have the looks to do it, I can only wait their acting now :D

I like Rui, I really empathize with Soujirou (even though Kim Bum looks more like a cute kid than a playboy XD) and I don't mind Akira. I didn't like Shizuka in the J-drama too, her acting was ridicoulously forced and I didn't get the whole "admirable person" aura from her, so I'm hoping that Han Chae Young can do that.

i agree... they really got the permed hair right on Jun-pyo (Domyouji)! its like the perfect arrogant "pama" look... and boy, Lee Minho does carry well... i guess thats a good sign that he's gonna do his character justice?

i think GHS looks fine as Jandi/Makino... i saw this one set picture of her doing the "fighting!" gesture... and it was so Makino...

i would spazz about Hyunjoong as Rui... but that'll take up alot of space...

I wasn't really sure about the casting but Lee Min-Ho's perm won me over ^.^ I like that he looks stronger than Matsumoto Jun did. I mean Jun was great, but was it just me, or did he kinda just look..I dunno, passive aggressive but not exactly like muscular? I can't really put into words what I'm trying to say but yaaa =] I hope Min-Ho can live up to my expectations because Jun did a fine job as Domyouji.

Kim Hyun-Joong. Ya, I can see myself drooling over him just like I had done over Oguri Shun (in the 2nd season. Oguri Shun first season didn't really do anything for me). And the fact that he's apparently bff's with Hero Jaejoong (DBSK), whom I obsess over, completely works in his favor. Not sure why, but it just does ^.^

@hanneebuff: I'm looking forward to it too! I hope this lady can be fierce bc Domyouji's mom was pretty "whoa".

i dont think ur the only one scared that the khyd will mirror the japanese version..hopefully not too much but it is based on a manga so..we'll find out once it starts airing

I'm more than pleased with the cast assembly. I kind of still think they could have gotten a more playboyish but nice guy than kimbum. he's still too young fresh looking. :)
Other than that it's perfect. And surprisingly domyouji looks good with the curled perm. I was a little worried about that part...:)

I've already expressed my view:

/I think this has all confirmed that I am the only one on the planet who thinks this drama is overrated and horrendous XD. (It is the prime reason why I ran away from Jdrama’s and got into Kdrama’s in the first place–I am only now peeking back at Jdrama’s again). Saying that I still can’t stop myself wondering about who will be cast and I am intriguied to see whether the Korean version will present the storyline in a way and with a style that will interest me./

However I'm a little worried with all those episodes, will they be used to develop or to drag out the drama and I pray to god they do not copy the Jdrama exactly but do their own take. I also don't think the cast is bad looking myself and the perm is pretty cool.

I live in Daegu currently! I'd love to see the filming if it's still going on. If you have any information about the school it's being filmed at, that'd be great.

I saw a picture on popseoul, but none of my coteachers knew the location and school name when I asked them about it. They basically said "yeah Korea doesn't have any preperatory schools."

I'd love to do some snooping though.

Well, after watching the last part of the Boys Over Flowers, I think I cannot sleep or live for a day w/out watching this movire, tats why, I bought one cd of it . . . . . .
