Glad it’s 2 years later and nothing yet..
MNIKSS is like..a little piece of heaven for me.
That’s what K-dramas are..a completely different world for me..and place to get away..
I don’t want that broken into and tampered with.

It’s like my own little secret. And I’m jealous and greedy. I don’t want to share it. Especially my Kim Sun-Ah.
Those lucky enough to get into K-dramas know what I mean..

And I think we all know, NO ONE, not anywhere, not ever..could pull off Kim Sam Soon the way Kim Sun Ah did.
And even Sun Ah said if she had to do it a second time, it just wouldn’t be the same.

They can take anything else! Any other drama (though I prefer not)
just not my Samsoon.
Anything but that.
Please.

its been a while and no re-make yet!!.. YAY!!.. leave the korean dramas alone!!.. i dont get why NBC/America cant make their own drama and gotta use another countries drama.. HOW LAME!!.. or yet, just air the original korean one!!.. gosh!!.. the american ‘my sassy girl’ was so stupid and all twisted around.. leave the originals alone and MAKE YOUR OWN SHOWS!!

Hmm..it’s been a year..
I’m currently watching MLKSS now and I love it to bits!
I..HOPE THEY DON’T DO AN AMERICAN REMAKE!!
I don’t think anyone could pull off KSS…
really, she’s what makes it =0

So..anyone know if it’s still in production??

AZN TV was a digital cable network in the USA that was taken off the air about a year and a half ago, because of low viewership (Well of course! One had to pay an additional fee to the basic cable fee in order to have access to this and other digital TV channels). It was through this network that I started to watch Asian shows (some with English subtitles, others without them) and became a fan of them.

There is a big need (and a growing public) that would watch a channel that would carry Asian programs. Unfortunately, too many people are lazy and don’t want to read subtitles (they don’t know that this makes them smarter).

Networks want to milk the cow till they make it dry, that why many show that were good at first, soon became stale.

A lot of Asian hits do not translate well to American because they loose their charm and originality in the translation in order to make it more appealing to the US audience. Il Mare was a little film that got a makeover and became Lake House. (Sandra Bullock has become the new producer of much wanted romantic comedies). It may not have been a blockbuster, but it was decent and most people who have seen it have liked it. The rest have not been so lucky.

There is a big market for romance (ask the publishing companies that make a lot of money with romance novels in the US and their authors). But movies need to appeal also to guys, so they sacrifice the romance or make silly superficial, predictable romantic chick flicks, that guys runs from them like the devil.

It’s a known fact the directors, producers in the US watch a lot of Asian films and have been inspired by them and are starting to bring some of the talent to the US. Let’s wish LBJ. Rain, and others a lot of luck so that more talent and films, and TV series become mainstream in the US.

why can’t they just show the original on an American network instead of wasting money on this. That’s a good idea, air it on a popular network, that anyone can watch, and call it Asian Drama Nite?
