Here are some lulz for you: A teaser poster was recently released for Kwon Sang-woo and Lee Bo-young‘s upcoming movie A Story Sadder than Sadness, and apparently there’s a bit of an online dust-up over CG fakery in the image. Supposedly Kwon’s eyes and expression were looking a little too fake for people’s liking.
Producers deny altering Kwon’s appearance; they’ve only enhanced the image to give it the effect of an oil painting. To prove it, they have now released the original photo upon which the poster was based. (Enhanced poster, at right. Original photo, up above.)
How silly. This from Korea, the land of rampant fan Photoshop?
The film Story Sadder than Sadness also stars Lee Beom-soo (On Air) and will be ready for a March 2009 premiere.

is this really original poster ?? i think usually they made poster after shooting. i don’t know this movie make a poster during shooting
“Original” poster above already looks photoshopped to death. Who are they kidding? And why do they feel pressured into proving that they didn’t photoshop it even more? Power of the netizens~!
lol
Original and photoshoped both look the same.
the orig looks much better – they retouched his eyes in the photoshopped version – very creepy
um NO. the original has totally been photoshopped. don’t tell me their tears really look like that in reality. whatever. just admit they did A LOT of photoshopping. c’mon, almost all pictures for these kinds of things go through a certain degree of photoshopping. but i agree with the netizens this time…it really doesn’t look like ksw…they worked on his eyes a little too much.
btw, is this the same movie he agreed to get no pay for?
um…that’s really petty, lots of images are being photoshopped anyway….
Kettle I’d like to introduce you to someone you might know… :p
“oil painting” lol
P.S. I am SO not looking forward to this movie at all. I don’t know why, but the combination of the sad, melodramatic storyline + Kwon Sang Woo + Lee Bo Young (I haven’t really watched her in anything) + the title = not interested. Everything put together seems to add up to a predictable, boring film that I am not willing to waste my time on. Sorry for the random vent!
fans are too much.
but seriously even the original looks photo shopped though.
but why does it matter? just because fans aren’t satisfied does that mean they have to re-shoot the photo? korean stars really have it rough over there.
WTH lol seriously OMG… I was laughing out loud at their both teary eyes
awww kwon sang woo looks like nate archibald here bahaha.
btw, have your rotating headers stopped rotating? i keep getting the daniel henney kiss…
The “original photos” STILL look photoshopped/air-brushed. How can you get such flawless skin and lighting and hair and snow?
But all the world does it. So if it counts for anything, the “original” and the “oil painting” does not look too different from each other. Can’t believe the fans are only crying right now for something that’s been happening for yrs. Though I guess the key is “realistic” known-illusions?
@Janie-No, they’re the same shoot. Just altered. The 1st altered one got fans crying so the one (from the same shoot but not given the oil painting effect) was also released.
How does he handle all of these sad movies and dramas???? All his movies and dramas are like really sad!!!! Stairways to Heaven, Bad Love, there’s a lot more I forgot their titles,, like the one with the blind woman… and of course this…
the title itself kind of throw me off -_- , maybe it’s just the english translation
