A Star’s Lover: Episode 6
December 29th, 2008 // by javabeans
Mari is starting to grow on me. I was prepared to merely put up with her (didn’t love her, didn’t hate her), but I actually liked her in this episode. Choi Ji-woo still kinda pushes the cute factor too hard sometimes, but while I usually find it annoying, I thought she was actually cute in this episode.

awww such a cute episode!~
Thanks for the update~
^ Good recap beans… I agreed with everything you wrote about CS and MR!
They’re just so adorable.. and yes, predictable as it may have been, sometimes we just fall for it, regardless of how reused the plot is…hehehe..
ah, praise God. you did the summary!
I loved this episode and yes Mari is really growing on me too.. she’s so lovable! I actually began anticipating the next episode.
After this review, I have decided just to read rather than watch the series. Still enjoyable nonetheless. Thanks!
Am I the only one who’s bothered by the fact that she’s going after a guy who has a girlfriend? Cute, typical romance and all, but that just bothers me.
If Mari is the antagonist in this drama, people would all hated her for it, but yet, here she’s “cute”.
Come on Anna, relax. He has a girlfriend, so what? She is not his wife!! Haha…this is called healthy competition. Well, Mari is actually quite fun: a bit of charismatic with humility. A bit of nagging is also enjoyable, at times. And yes, she is quite dumb, but realistic. Just hope CJW will keep the “cuteness” at that level, and don’t over doing it.
As for his girlfriend, don’t you think she is very boring? Bolt will definitely not going out with this type of girls.
this episode is like scenes from notting hill lol! thanks for the recap javabeans, entertaining as always
My Aunt Mary!
Help? Trying to figure out this badongo thing…where do I click to download?
excited for 7!!!
i loveeeeeeee your analysis! and the song! and the episode! :]
LOVE the recaps!
THANKS and pls keep them coming!!
Watched all 6 eppies (the last two in all Korean with no subs) and enjoyed them all so far! The whole setting, the cinematography … a magical and luring combination reviving the captivating spell of Kdramas of old (for me).
Reading now ep 5 and 6 with your wonderful insights and perceptions are like very satisfying cream on an enjoyable cake.
>>> Clearly the answer is that they need to strike a balance, and create their own model for a successful relationship:
For eg, I was totally nodding at the above comment.
Felt after both their times together had the unreal sense of fantasy too; despite how realistically fun and enjoyable it was for both of them, at both of those seperate times.
Heck, I am even enjoying CJW here. She is her usual self, usual mannerisms, usual expressions and all … which can sometimes be so too much.
But somehow it’s all sitting down well in her Mari – even the cutesyness, the petulance … wow, it’s all so tolerable!
I am even starting to like Mari.
I can start enjoying Choi Ji Woo? Wow. 0~O
Mari’s self-centredness, her loneliness and vulnerability, her nagging … and her irritating him – that trying to get under his skin persistence, her taken for granted sense of Diva-entitlement, her honesty (at least she’s realistic abt being ignorant) … somehow the whole package works.
She works well …. with Yoo Ji Tae’s Chul Soo.
I can see where it’s going. They are going to confess their feelings for each other. then, the photos are going to come and she’ll blame him. Just like Nottinghill as someone said.I have decided not to watch the drama…..I will just read your recaps. More fun and less time consuming.
I love the episode and no I don’t mind he has a girlfriend, he doenst even love her so is not meant to be. Love Ji woo so I can be objetive buT i do think she sometimes is too cute, like too much, however something in her character makes her real, like in the back of her mind she know she is desperate for love and is willing to do anything for the real deal.
Thanks for your re-cap again. For the next plot still unknown…I saw some new pix in Star’s Lover soompi… after that Mari and Woojin will have dinner together and the red big box gift from WJ is next to her….that’s mean she didn’t spend Chrismas eve with CS……I can’t wait for ep.7-8…this THR
so….Enjoy your New Year Eve !!!
Happy New Year 2009 ( In advance )
ooh thanks
happy new year!
great recap! Did you or anyone find it strange how the scene transition when Yuri found her mother and then back to the main story? For me, this was annoyingly too short and abrupt. If they didnt have that scene, it would not have an effect on the story. Happy New Year!
that little girl crying in that picture is the girl from “Wonderful Life” isn’t it?
finally i have found a drama worth watching til the very end..i am looking toward the development of this drama and the characters..thanks for the recaps i’m reading your recaps than watching the episodes which makes it more insightful..
I love Yoo Ji Tae so much! He is seriously such a good actor. And the drama is fabulous, not a single episode fails my expectations!
Thank you for the wonderful recaps!
Thanks for the recap!!!!!!
Somehow….i really felt like the writer is in different mood when she wrote each episode….. each seem to give off different vibe compare to the other
Could someone pls help me understand – why did CS alternate touching his nose & his tongue, when he awoke to find Mari next to him?
Is that a culture thing? or was he just trying to jolt himself from slumber?
I’ve been scratching my head over this gesture for a long time…..
what is the name of the ending theme song for “Star’s Lover”?
