Executioners is next for Yoon Kye-sang

Yoon Kye-sang is starring in a new movie with Jo Jae-hyun — Executioners — which ought to finish filming early next year in time for Yoon’s next series, Triple (which I am hoping will be as fangirly-OMG-awesome as it sounds. I mean, ice skating plus Yoon Kye-sang, Hong Gil Dong‘s Kang Ji-hwan, and Coffee Prince‘s Lee Seon-kyun, directed by the PD of Coffee Prince? How can that be anything but candy-coated goodness?)

Executioners, however, sounds a lot more grim than the fluffiness of Triple, dealing with the “anguish and pain” of prison guards meting out capital punishment.

In the film, Jo Jae-hyun (who just came off a good year with his role in New Heart) plays a prison officer who treats even the criminals convicted of the most heinous crimes with warmth and humaneness, but who carries heavy personal burdens (his job had created an unfortunate incident in his past).

Yoon Kye-sang takes the role of a new prison guard who comes into his job with idealism, but begins to self-destruct once the executions begin. Like Jo, Yoon had a pretty good 2008: in February, his film Six Years in Love with Kim Haneul was released; in April, he had the film Beastie Boys; and he also headlined the drama Who Are You.

Executioners is completing the casting process and plans to begin filming in February.

i love yoon kye sang since my sister is 19 etc. and can't wait to see his new project! is it only me or what? he looks so much younger than his age! such a baby face! he's so cute & a great actor! keep up the good work Yoon!

I just started watching My sister-in-law is 19, and although I find the main girl annoying as hell, I'll probably continue watching just for Yoon. He is super cute and I loved him in Who are you. Triple sounds awesome and I can't wait to watch it!

I love JJH & YKS match. I was glad to hear that YKS was cast in this movie and it's even better now with JJH. I hope people will think of YKS as more of an actor than a singer through this movie.. btw is KJH even going to do Triple? Portal sites and recent news articles only list YKS & LSK and I can't believe they moved Triple even further back to June! I really don't want to wait that long~~~ and I feel so sorry for Min Hyo-rin (even though I don't know anything about her except that she's been practicing figure skating for this role forever). I think she's going to be a real figure skater by the time this drama airs.

i saw both 'six years in love' and 'beastie boys', and neither one did it for me, so i would be hesitant to call it a pretty good year. 'who are you' was pretty entertaining though.

i love yoon kye sang in WHO ARE YOU !!!!!! any movie or drama ..although he is a singer but in acting he is the best ever i saw in korean actor ....i love all his movie and drama .....
