For me, Japan HYD remains to be the best version. It was in the japanese version that I felt Domyoji's evil side that when Makino punched him...I felt so relieved and happy for her. That is suppose to be the turning point of the story, the part where Domyoji comes to his senses, unfortunately in the korean version I saw that they lacked execution on that particular scene and I am really disappointed that they even made it comedic (as if bullying is ok) and it resembled a scene from Princess hours where the main girl imagined of confronting the prince (main guy) and it wasn't only that but the uniforms, the school, the set, the teddy bear all reminds me of Princess hours. I wish that Gu Jun Pyo really was mean at first so in that way Jan Di's underdog role will be more highlighted...I just find it weird for her to be really angry with Jun Pyo and F4 even before she met them...it doesn't make sense thinking about people you don't know...it made sense in the japanese since makino is already a student in the elite school and she knows very well the doings of F4 making her become angry more as the days passed by and that is why I love it when she finally punched Domyoji on the face. It's true that the korean F4 guys are good-looking, actually Lee Min Ho looks like Jerry Yan although the korean guy is younger and fortunately was styled better. But in real life the F4 guys that'll give me shivers/ that sort of uncomfortable/amazed feeling would be the japanese F4...sure they aren't striking good-looking but it's their attitude that really carried them through, and not to mention Inoue Mao as Makino is simply adorable and heroine like. I'm halfway with the korean version and pretty much of the scenes are a combination of the taiwanese meteor garden and japanese hanadan. I'm watching it to see what else were included from the past versions...and a bit of curiosity on what'll happen with Soujiro's and Yuki's love story. Well I think that's a downside for a remake since people who have seen previous versions wouldn't always agree with it. Like meteor garden is such a phenomenon and when jap HYD came out many were disappointed like the jap F4 are ugly and so on...and now this. Well I have said too much, so if this is your first time to ever watch this series (this is the 3rd version) then I sure think you'll love this korean version...kind of like first love never dies. When you've seen it first it's kind of hard to replace it..hehe.
