Back to school for Moon Geun-young

Following her acting Daesang win last month for her role in the sageuk drama Painter of the Wind, Moon Geun-young is returning to school.
Moon has mostly kept a low profile from the entertainment sphere while she’s been at school; the 21-year-old actress enrolled in university in 2006 (she studies Korean literature at Sungkyunkwan University) and completed four terms before taking her first leave to return to acting. (The last project she did prior to Painter was the 2006 film Love Me Not.)
According to her management, she has no plans for her next acting job; Moon is currently resting up at home and will re-enroll when the school term begins in March.

Seems to be a mature and level headed gal. Once said she was more worried about school than acting as she never officially studied for her job. Not that she needs any studying for her job – she was amazing in POTW.

Congrats Moon Geun Young again on being the youngest ever to win the SBS Daesang award. She really is such a great role model. Not only is she beautiful, but she also has the heart of an angel and continues to help others by doing many good deeds, and is well known for being a gibu-chunsa (donation angel). She is also one of the few Korean celebrities who actually go to school and study hard unlike many others who act like “ghost” students and are hardly seen in their classes. Hwaiting Moon Geun Young! You’re truly a gem in the Korean entertainment industry. I’m sure it’s pretty safe to be expecting great things to come from this young actress.
Re: #8 Mindy – I got the impression from your use of quotations around broken nose that you’re a bit suspicious whether she really did break her nose (if not my bad), but I’ve seen the actual scene where Park Shin Yang elbows and breaks Moon Geun Young’s nose on SBS TV Yunae 2008.10.15 episode. You can even hear the cracking of her nose in this clip. She had to be taken to the hospital right away because the left part of her bridge was broken, and she only underwent minor surgery to lift the part of the bridge that broke to its original position. She did not use this accident to make any changes to nose, or make her bridge any higher than it normally was. She’s always had a high bridge (you can check from watching her act as the young Eun-Suh in 2000’s Autumn Story). Moon Geun Young is one of the few Korean celebrities that are known to be natural and have not had any (unnecessary) plastic surgery like the majority of other korean celebrities.
