Lee Min-ho has been famous for all of five days, but already he’s fielding a swarm of endorsement offers.
Okay, so technically the guy isn’t a total newb — he’s had smallish roles over the past couple of years in dramas like I Am Sam and Run Mackerel and movies such as Public Enemy 1-1 and Our School E.T.
However, all his prior roles put together are nothing compared to two episodes of his latest as “Gu Jun-pyo” (aka the Korean Doumyouji Tsukasa) in the new KBS trendy drama Boys Before Flowers, which has virtually shot him to instant fame. (By the way, the general consensus of his Jun-pyo role is positive; no matter how high the drama’s profile, I doubt he’d be getting so many offers if people were disappointed in his portrayal.)
So now Lee Min-ho finds himself, within a few days of the drama premiere, flooded with offers to advertise formal apparel and casualwear brands, food products, mobile phones, telecommunications companies, and more. They’re all fighting to snag the newfound star on his way up, and capitalize on the drama’s visibility.

I find him really good as Goo Joon Pyu…
he is close to Jerry Yan’s charm of Taiwan version.
I like him. Compared to the other two versions it’s the first time I’ve liked the main guy character more then the sensitive guy. ie: Rui… I use him as the example because I just love him
. I really like this version so far.
Well good for him, he deserves it. I hope his management team is smart about what offers he accepts and whatever ‘image’ then plan to project.

I love the hair….I hope the director keeps it for a few more episodes since hair is one of defining factors in anime/manga. Like someone posted earlier Jandi looks great when her hair is mussed up. I also like her profile. I hope we’ll see more of it as the drama progresses. It’s so great she wears doc martin shoes with her school uniform. (I went thru a doc martins phase myself) I remember the Taiwanese Makino had these great tattoos on her neck and hand. I love these little details.
Agreed…this is the first (and maybe only) version where I’ve liked the main guy at all–actually I like him the most in this version–compared to his co-stars.

his acting is absolutely brillant .. he has that charisma which i couldn’t find from the other guys over there so far ^^
the power of idol dramas are pretty amazing.and unique to the asian culture. He got the limelight while hyun joong and hye sun just couldnt get through to the viewers and express as much charisma.
He’s pretty funny in Run Mackerel and it’s like his role there is quite similar in BOF. He totally deserves all the fame he’s getting now. I just hope he keeps it up in BOF and doesn’t get a big head. And perm hair or not, he still looks good:)

So true! Domyoji is the one character that i don`t like from 4 of the men, in Jap and chinese version. This the one that i actually like, and really looking forward to see what`s gonna happen next despite that i already know the story and watch the other versions. Good job!

Physically, I think he is exactly the Domyouji from the original manga. Jerry Yan and Matsumoto Jun are both off from their original characters….physically at least. I still have to see him act.
I hate this guy. His haircut is so annoying.

He deserves more popularity.. i just think that he gain a lot of new fans but his discussion threads are not that hot yet but i believe he’ll gain more fans later on. I love his portrayal of Tsukasa and i can’t wait to see more hot photoshoots of him from those CF!! Go get more money from those companie, Go Minho!!

I might agree on that assessment. Acting-wise the other two members of the important love triangle are not getting the job done. Good for him since press and praise are on his side. Bad since the chemistry betwee the F4, the love triangle, Korean tsukasa and Makino should be the cornerstone of the series. For now, it’s mostly individual acting performances that I see rather than a cohesive drama. Hopefully chemistry between the characters happen soon because the romance angle is coming up. Individual acting is great for now but I want to believe and fall in love with the love relationships most especially the one between Jandi and Jun Pyo. Sad to say, I don’t feel the chemistry.
i haven’t watched this or any version yet, but i can’t wait to watch the Korean version. i’m not familiar with the storyline, so his character is the lead, i thought it was the other guy? if this guy is then i’m way more excited to see this.
LMH is a great Tsukasa…I’ve watched the 2 episodes out already w/ subs. The Jap version, I was Team Rui and Makino. I think for the K Version, I am truly Makino and Tsukasa.
BUT I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE Kim Bum. He’s so hawt.

Lee Min-ho really gives this certain charisma to Gu Jun-pyo’s character. It’s amazing…this is the first time I actually liked Tsukasa better than rui!

When I see him act as Jun Pyo, I see a “LITTLE” Jerry Yan appearance.. maybe because of the face shape and the hair..

as for him, acting as the Korean Domyouji, I think, this is the first time I like Domyouji’s character than Rui’s… Unlike the 2 versions, I like Rui than Domyouji first,,, but here, I can say he’s the REASON why I watch this version.. He portrayed it well and I think he deserved to be the Korean Domyouji..
