I really want to watch Speed Scandal but can’t seem to get my hands on it anywhere. I started watching My Dear Enemy, but the pacing was so incredibly slow and numbing that I had to stop. Maybe it gets better gradually somewhere? Although I would love to watch the other Korean films on the list, I’m afraid to because I might get extremely disappointed.

I love Ken Loach films. I had to watch The Wind That Shakes The Barley, because a) it was a Ken Loach film and b) Cillian Murphy was in it. Thanks for the list. Now I really want to see Departures and Waltz With Bashir!

Yeah, in January.

oh dear, i SO want to see Let the Right One In. i like the choices they made for the foreign film; No Country for Old Men was spectacular. I haven’t seen any of the korean movies..now I have a list to work from when I decide to see some!

Not that surprised Rough Cut won. It did well at various smaller award shows, and I’m sure many of the critics are using the film to make a point about popular actors taking less money to do both more challenging work and turn a profit, especially in the current state of their film industry and economy.

“and where is my SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE? that movie was phenomenal.”

Oh I’m sure it’ll show up in next year’s list. I mean, HELLO No Country for Old Men? (No Country > all films on that list, except for Waltzing)

I quite enjoy ‘Movie is Movie’. The last scene just stuck in my head for a couple days…weird…

I really enjoyed Rough Cut – I think it’s one of So Ji Sub’s best projects ever. But I wouldn’t say it was the top film of the year. It was literally a little “rough” in places, which is understandable, as it’s a debut work from a new director working on a low budget. I would say that My Dear Enemy was a better film.

Oh, and “We’re Action Stars” was an absolute delight! I laughed so hard watching it, and also teared up a little bit. Man, I want to rewatch it…

WHEN are we going to stop hearing about “Forever the Moment”?? It was a fairly good film, yeah, but far from being a masterpiece. And it wasn’t even a 2008 film! O_o;
