If her name is Esther, you had to hate her. All Esther Park/Kims/Yoons/Hans were the alpha bitches of your local clique. However, Esther was also redeemed by her GREAT taste in music, clothes and shoes, and so you always ended up going shopping with them.

I was actually shocked at hearing Yun Jung Hoon (went to Pasadena High) speak English in the last episode of East of Eden. It was a total Cali dude accent.

Yun Jung Hoon, Lee Ji Ah, Lee Dae Hae, Park Min Young, Lee Seo Jin, Daniel Henney (sorry)

I think my school experience was really extreme, though. K-pop stars were actually classmates of mine; I don’t know if that’s true for most people. That’s also why I love Jung Ryeo Won. Her attitude and background reminds me of my 1/1.5 friends in school.

Wow, it seems like a whole different experience being a Cali Korean.
People from Jersey are always trying to integrate (aka be white) and it’s so hard to find a fellow comrade to talk about the “motherland” with.

I usually have to call on my NYC friends to do that. >_<

It was funny though because the other day I was humming a Clazziquai song and my korean friends didn’t notice anything different but my indian friend turns around says, “OMG! THAT WAS FROM SAMSOON!!” XD

At my high school, it would have been about half of the Korean guys at our school (“see this dimple when I smile? that’s my oppa dimple!”) The other half would have been squatting with their boys, smoking cheap cigs, practicing how to look real tough/sleepy (aka the “It’s Tough To Be Korean” look) and driving in lowered Civics while listening to Turbo(?!?). That’s gangsta!!

It took My Man (aka Lee Jung Jae) to make me see the light.
