Wang Bit-na poses for SURE
by | March 27, 2009 | 19 Comments

Actress Wang Bit-na has revealed photos from a new fashion photo spread, taken in her last month of pregnancy. Wang married in January 2007 to pro golfer Jung Seung-woo and is due to give birth to their first child on April 15; this shoot was for the April issue of women’s fashion magazine SURE.

I haven’t really followed Wang’s career (she was in the 2008 drama Happy Events at Chun-ja’s and the 2007 series Merry vs. Daegu Battle), but I do think these photos are really beautiful.

It’s kinda odd — Wang may not be as startlingly thin as Sohn Tae-young was in her pregnancy photos but, like Sohn, in the upper-body photos she doesn’t look any different from her pre-pregnancy days. Still, she’s rocking that new-mama glow; congrats to her.

I like the third picture very much. Women should show their pregnancy it makes them glow from the inside.:-)

i like the last photo of her where she actually looks like herself. I wouldn’t have known that was WAng Bitna from the first few photos.

Well, congrats to her, i hope she has a beautiful, healthy baby.

I think the 1st(smile less) and 2nd pic(blank stare yikes!) is terrible, i really like the third.

I remember her as Bu Yong from Hwang Jini… Very beautiful mum-to-be…

Not be contrary, but I’ve seen women who are preggers.

In my cadre of friends, we pretty much all got married at the same time, and we pretty much are all having kids at the same time. So, I’ve seen my share of pregger korean women. Not one looks like WBN. Also, take a look at yesstyle.com’s maternity section, and check out the pregger models there too. None of my friends who, when they had a bun in the oven, looked like them.

The k-obsession to be <50kg even while preggs is not only unhealthy, it is totally setting the wrong model for young women in Korea.

Not that Americans have the book on being healthy (I mean, check out obesity rates in this country), but “heroin waif pregnant” is not a chic style to have… imo.

now that’s a real pregnant lady!!! Not like umm that guys wife from stairways to heaven… lol

Totally have to agree that even though she is pregnant she looks like her normal self with something stuffed under her belly. Do real pregnant ppl look like this? I think not. I’m just ranting on what was said before by samsooki, nothing against Wang Bit-na; beautiful lady!

    To Samsooki,
Not everyone is lucky to be able to remain thin in pregnancy…a lot of asian people can pull it off. I’m 24, 5″3, and 115 and pregnant- but I eat a lot. Some people are naturally thin- it’s just how they are, especially at a young age metabolism is high. I’m sorry, I don’t mean to be rude but I found your comment a little offensive because I am Korean and its a bit rude to criticize like that. I’m not trying to keep thin, I just eat healthy and resist cravings for unhealthy foods. Perhaps she doesn’t want to have a lot of weight after she gives birth- so sue her. We all know it’s really hard to lose weight once you gain it.

My mother had six kids and has a similar story to the above post. (Anonymous) She is caucasion, but I’m not sure that that has anything to do with anything. Anyway, for each of her six kids she was able to retain most of her original shape and size, always returning to her pre-pregnancy proportions within weeks of delivery. Some of us have faster metabolisms, some slower ones. Some of us remain active while pregant, but most of us just plain eat too much. How can a woman who’s done all of the right things (possibly aided by genetic input), given birth to a healthy baby, and sets a highly appealing visual example of what can be accomplished by dealing with things in their proper order and proportion possibly be called “the wrong role model for the young women of Korea?” Wang Bit-na is an inspiration to people eveywhere and of each gender. Last time I checked; sloth, gluttony, and envy were listed amongst the seven deadly sins; I never knew that hard work, a sunny disposition, and untarnished beauty could also be considered suspect.
