The question is: What do you call this, exactly? Is it a li’l bit glam rock, a li’l bit ’70s porn star, a li’l bit albino elf?
Actor Lee Junki (Time of Dog and Wolf, My Girl) recently released a teaser video for his upcoming music video, “J Style,” and now he’s released the artwork for his album jacket. Apparently the concept behind the photo shoot was an homme fatale who combines angel with devil. (Psst, I don’t see how this is either “homme” or “fatale.”)
You’ve gotta hand it to the guy to be bold and ballsy with his style. He’s got a lot of ideas and he uses them to full attention-getting effect. (Too bad I hate all his ideas, but I’m sure somebody out there likes this look… I think?)
Lee Junki will hold his “Episode 2″ fan concert on April 18, and will be releasing his solo album in time for the event.

Wow, leave it to him to come up with a creative yet at the same time creepy album cover. I’m not sure what his angle is but if it’s about catching people’s eyes, he definitely win
I’m assuming it was a make-up artist’s dream to do this look, but for most of the world this is the freakiest thing ever. But I guess it’s not too bad when you compare it to a lot of visual kei artists… but it comes close.
*Sigh*… honestly, after seeing his teaser and pictures, i like his stuff more than actual real singers…
too bad this is for his fan-concert…
i would LOVE if there was an actual k-pop singer like him… bold and fresh and yeah.. refreshing. whether you like the style or not, it’s more interesting than the average stuff that gets put out and much different. I hope others take inspiration from him (How I wish he really debuted as a singer! And i dont usually care for actors making their music debut -.-)

This is a complete turn around from the released teaser. Lee Junki sure knows to create… hype, for better lack of word. I’m interested to see what he brings back to the scene. I never heard his music before so I’m all ears.

I think Lee Junki has a pretty decent singing voice (and I really did like his rapping when he worked with Hyori on “AnyStar”), but this is way too much. Couldn’t he have just gone down the regular non-flashy route so I could take him seriously?! His music video teaser is basically Rainism Part II, minus Rain.

I have NEVER found the appeal of Lee Jun Ki. Is he really that cute??? He looks awfully feminine to me. But anyhow, he sure knows how to market himself and make people discuss about him.
I like the album cover a lot. I don’t think it looks attractive on him, but it gets my attention. It doesn’t just catch my eye when I glance over the post; I can’t take my eyes off of it. The upper body shot is my favorite picture out of the ones posted. He looks very rock n roll.

I think it is rather “Cirque de Soleilesque”- sort of a walking, talking, breathing surrealist painting, if you will. I think it is rather artistic. I think Lee Jun Ki is one the more talented pretty boys of his generation.

Word. The concept is weird enough as it is but the badly done makeup makes you not take it whatever it’s packaging seriously. Like a kid having fun with his mom’s makeup set or a bunch of face paints.

Haha, yes! But I’m pretty sure he’s somewhat serious about singing/dancing, unfortunately. His concept? He looks like an anime character of some sort, like a spirit or ghost who’s ready to sing some k-pop ballads and then bust out sum poppin’ and lockin’. Oh dears.

hmmm…I’ve been thinking about this. Maybe this look would work as a photoshot in a magazine but as album art it isn’t quite polished enough. Maybe its the pink lips that are bothering me, they don’t fit the whole black and white theme.

i love lee junki, but this album cover is just too… odd for my taste. i guess most of his fans would be going gaga over these photos/album cover but not me. there’s something about it that just makes me feel that maybe even his album’s not for me coz isn’t the album cover supposed to convey the theme or the message of the album? so if i’m seeing an angel nightmare… seriously junki’s good at acting, but i don’t care about his singing. BUT i’m still a fan weird makeup and all.

And I really like his snow-white hair. Just saying. And he still manages to look pretty cute doing it. I especially love the bigger shot of him, and the first of the 1st 4-set and last of the 2nd 4-set.

My first thought was, “Did I accidentally travel to the wrong blog?” Then I saw that it was supposed to be LJK, did a double-take, and mildly freaked out.
Oh Junki.. You’re a bundle of crack and WTF-ness. Don’t get me wrong, I love the guy.. I think he’s very sweet and funny off-set, but he’s still weird. A pretty decent singer, but still weird. This just solidifies that opinion.
As an album cover, it weirds me out a little. But as an attention-getting advertisement, I’m all for it. (I actually really love the upper-body shot. He looks cool.) Although it did help a lot to turn down the brightness on my laptop, so now he’s more gray-ish than BLINDINGLY WHITE-TASTIC.
Honestly, though, his wide eyes in the first pictures kind of scare me.

I like it and hate it at the same time. The concept is great but the overall design is faulty — not horrible, just glitchy. I don’t get how this ties with the teaser video but since things haven’t been revealed, I figure it ties together somewhere (at least it should.) Also the selection of the photos is a little tame (if you’re gonna go with head shots, one should make sure they all stand out yet somehow tie together rather than have them all look too similar, imho.)
I love the whole white concept and praise LJK for having the guts to do something way different and more artsy…but I think that some slight changes would’ve made this beyond incredible.
PS. I would’ve loved to have been the make-up artist that day >w< If only, if only.

first of all, I actually just saw a bit of his getting-ready-to-shoot those MVs and I did not see that scary albino crack addict look whatsoever..
he dances really well – it looked to me that he put lots of effort into following the dance coach – and the MVs looked captivating but with a strong ’sexy’ vibe

A lot of people seem to be unfairly biased against him for being ‘too feminine’. It might not suit your taste but there’s no need to dismiss everything he does out of hand. I personally think his gender ambiguity is empowering and its to his credit that he can be both ‘masculine’ and ‘feminine’ without being tied down by any one notion.
As for the album cover, Junki embodies art and I love how he lends his physicality to artistic expression.

Wait a minute… that was a guy?! I mean, when I first saw his name I assumed (correctly) it was the Junki of ‘My Girl’, ‘Time of…’ and ‘Iljimae’ fame, until I saw the pictures. Like others I have noted how fine his features are, how at certain angles they can be strikingly feminine or prettily masculine. But here he looks like a straight-up girl to me. A very pretty, creepy girl who’s trying a touch too hard to be ‘artistic’.
