Han Ji-hye sings “Luv Luv”

East of Eden actress Han Ji-hye has recorded a song before, but now she’s at it again. Not content to stick with acting, modeling, and shoe designing, she’s recorded a digital single to be released on May 18 titled “Luv Luv.”

The song is described as upbeat electro-pop, and will be revealed for the first time on the music-talk program Kim Jung-eun’s Chocolate on the 16th. The process of recording the tune will also be featured on the May 23 broadcast of the second part to her Shoes! My Dream! special.

Sorry, but my first reaction to this was a disgruntled, “Another one?” There seems to be no shortage of actors trying their hand at singing, and while a few are actually pretty talented (Kim Bum, for instance), the majority are only average at best — and some have no business making the attempt at all, really.

I'm a fan of her and Id say her singing ability is really just on the "average...."I'll say no harm in trying, ......yes her last "singing project" was singing the theme for the swimming event played in watercube in Beijing Olympics ..a duet with Leon Jay Williams. hmmm Sandara who i also like is luckier being in a group. JH solo...well she can just try then she can go back to what she does best modelling and acting!

HJH: "Hey, congratulations on graduating college."

HJH's friend: "Thanks, Han Ji-hye! Umm... congratulations to you.... too?"

HJH: "Oh thank you! Just curious though... are you congratulating me for:

a. my movie career complete with a Baeksang award?
b. my back-to-back KBS / MBC drama awards?
c. my supermodel awards and modeling contracts?
d. my newly released song?
e. my new line of shoes?

... just curious... "

HJH's friend: "umm, I guess... everything?"

HJH: "Thank you! Yes, it's so much fun when you live vicariously through yourself. I love being the most interesting woman in the world..."

HJH's former friend: "Yeah, that sounds great... Right after I throw up, I'm going to go send out a few resumes online now..."

* :)

I'm kidding. More power to her. If I have 10% of the successful and interesting and adventurous life that Han Ji-hye has, I will have lived a full life, I think.

Hope the song rocks.

Is she competing with Goo Hye Sun for multi-talented celebrity? How about putting them in a cage match, or better yet have them wear bikinis and wrestle in mud.

She's hardly a good singer (she's a much better dancer), but unlike other female celebs who are too embarrassed to sing (or dance) on a variety show, HJH bravely takes on the challenge and isn't afraid of looking bad (nor is she afraid of looking silly) as she did when she sang on LoveLetter.

Also got to say that she may very well have the best chin/jaw line among all the Korean female actresses.

It's painful to see these stars trying too hard. They should just stick to what they do best though I do agree that Kim Bum has some potential. But I'm kinda biased 'cause I love this boy.

"a. my movie career complete with a Baeksang award?"

I don't think her movie career should be congratulated just yet (My Boyfriend is Type B? Humming?), and her 2004 Baeksang award was for TV.

But I agree her life must be pretty exciting :)

You are right! The Baeksang was for TV.

In light of the recent developments and new information, I should change a few lines of dialogue then:

HJH’s friend: “umm, I guess… congratulations for everything? (pause...) no wait... your Baeksang wasn't for your mediocre movies, it was for TV. And it was a newcomer award, NOT for being the best, I mean who DOESN'T get a newcomer award. And I slept through most of My Boyfriend is Type B. So there. Oh, and I illegally dl'ed your Luv Luv song, and it wasn't worth keeping. And your new line of shoes is so 2008.”

HJH: (pffffff!) “…... 질투 (jealousy) much?”

HJH’s former friend: “Yeah, well, why don't you go and practice singing just a liiiiiiitle bit more for the next Olympics… Excuse me while I go throw up and send out a few dozen more resumes online … Oh, and your beautiful jaw line? Plastic surgery, right?”

(pushes past HFH, bumping shoulders, causing HJH to go pfff again.)

hehehe..

she can't sing. but she's not afraid about it either. though, i wish she would just do it as a gag show rather than a recording. PLEASE HAN JI-HYE, I like you a lot but seriously, you don't need to be multi-talented you know...living life vivaciously is one thing. living life vivaciously effective is another.

“umm, I guess… congratulations for everything? (pause…) no wait… your Baeksang wasn’t for your mediocre movies, it was for TV. And it was a newcomer award, NOT for being the best, I mean who DOESN’T get a newcomer award. "

I thought there was some prestige in Baeksang Arts Awards compared to network awards. Why look down if it was a drama instead of a movie? Or if it's a Newcomer Award instead of Excellence? It wasn't an award for popularity, but for acting... Awardees for that category deserves more respect than that.

Also Han Ji Hye had the honor to be nominated in the same category as Moon Geun Young and Kim Hye Ja in the latest Baeksang awards. That's a big step for her already. Yes, she's not the best of the best. But I give her credit for continuously polishing her acting skills.

Re: Singing

What truly counts is her wanting to do these things, enjoying the process and savoring whatever success she gets out of it. As a fan, I can only be happy she is incredibly blessed with all these opportunities.

Oooh speaking of actors trying out their singing skills, have you heard Yoon Sang Hyun as Heo Tae Joon from "Queen of Housewives" sing? It's so nice and soothing and the real thing too!
Here's a clip of him singing in Queen of Housewives:
