Sure, Boys Before Flowers star Lee Min-ho has a doofy smile, and perhaps doesn’t have the smolder in real life that his character Jun-pyo did. His last hyped-up CF sucked, and yeah he’s wearing suspenders that don’t actually suspend anything, on top of being dressed like he’s about to break out into a high kick and a chorus of “Loose, footloose, kick off your Sunday shoes…”
But I don’t care, he’s a good actor and he’s earned his fame. Rock on, Min-ho dude, and buy yourself as many Benzes as you desire.

He sure looks a little different, I guess I’m too used to seeing him as Jun Pyo.
Sometimes it’s a bad thing when you get too famous playing a role. People tend to seee him as Jun Pyo rather than Lee Min Ho.

I couldn’t believe that Lee Minho buying a Benz would be newsworthy. The dude worked hard for it and if he wanted to treat himself to Benz then go for it. Like you said Javabeans, buy yourself as many Benzes as you desire, Lee Minho.

So I guess that this is what is passing for style these days – Lee Min Ho is wearing at least 3 rings, about 4 bracelets, some kind of runner’s reflective anklets over his Jordache jeans, white tennies, a little bit of matte foundation, gloss lipstick, and some sort of hair product I cannot identify that makes his hair poofy but not too poofy, shiny but not glossy, and vibrant. (It’s not wax, it’s not gel, what kind of product makes his hair look like that? I gotta get me some of that….)
I need style tips, but I refuse to accept Lee Min Ho as a guide post.

Yes…I don’t care about the strange styles either, he is a good actor who has potentials and seems to be very warm and genuine with his fans…so be it. Let the boy enjoy his well deserved fame! Could be worse, look at Jang Geun Suk’s or Joo Ji Hun’s styles.
Even his height can’t save him from this awful outfit. He need to hire a stylist sooon!!

I use KMS Hair Play (a little pricey but worth it). It is called a “molding paste” but it looks like a creme. It works better than any other hair product I’ve ever tried. However, it has a dull, matte finish and it doesn’t create the same sort of individual separation and glossy look that Lee Minho has in the first picture.
I think that Lee Minho must be using multiple products. Some sort of really really light pomade (maybe just a pea-sized amount spread in wet hands and finger combed), and then some sort of “bounce” glossy hair spray to make it so shiny, then fine-combed out (to stop the clumps), and then sprayed again while being blown out with cold air (to keep it shiny).
I’ll try it and see if I can make my hair look like Lee Minho’s. I’l report back if I am successful.
Btw, for shampoo/conditioner for korean guys, I highly recommend Joico products (Moisture Recovery, both shampoo and conditioner). It is a little pricey, but if you skip 3 lunches over the course of a week, you can take that money, and buy your shampoo/conditioner. That way, you’ll lose a bit of weight and you’ll have better hair too. hehe.

I will refrain from commenting on the rest of his outfit. As the musical “Annie” tells us, you’re never fully dressed withouth a smile. That is what I choose to dwell on. And I do so love that adorably doofy yet sometimes incredibly hot smile. I can’t wait for his next project. Can’t wait!

i don’t know what everyone is saying, but Lee “G” is freakin fine to me in person. i think he is my favorite Korean actor. i acknowledge the personality he personified, but he truly looks like a not so bad type of guy. i really enjoy watchin the way you act spicy and hot. just continue doing what you do best and act out more roles as you did with this Jun Pyo character. Hmm is it just me – but since LMH has dropped the GJP ‘parma’ hair I’ve noticed his jawline is ‘massive’ when he smiles from a certain angle?

While I know LMH is in the post-GJP parma stage, and as his hair stylist you trying to work out what to do with his hair. Here is a tip – give it a trim! Post GJP hair should not = mop head. Not on LMH. A trim/colour worked wonderfully well on Kim Hyun Joong. It freshened KHJ up as well as provide a trendy cut to differentiate from Ji-Hoon sunbae. Hey you can even ask for help from KHJ’s stylist if you are stuck. They worked it very well – don’t be too proud to ask!

Also please do not be soooo distracted by his good looks that you give him the WRONG shade of foundation. Korea has some pretty good skincare ranges right? (I mean the flawless kdrama skin is almost legendary, plastic or no plastic). The boy has a tanned skin – hell it might have been added by the Sydney sun. Sun kissed in Sydney! Kindly ENHANCE his natural gorgeousness. Do NOT distract.
Besides you do know he is not at a screen test auditioning for an Asian ed of Twilight right? It’s a fan signing in Korea.

i dislike the fact that you can SEE the obvious cover up and lipgloss….i understand male stars always have some sort of makeup but you don’t have to be that obvious…..maybe it is because he is so worn out and tired that he has to have that much make up on.

LMH definitely did justice to Goo Jun Pyo. It’s weird seeing LMH as HIM and not Jun pyo lol. In real life, LMH is goofy, with a doofy smile, lack fashion sense and definitely no smoldering appeal like Jun Pyo…but that just shows what a great actor he is! LOL, looking forward to his next drama. Too bad, GHS fell in love with the character Jun Pyo but in real life there is no Jun Pyo and LMH is far from it! Oops…lost train of thought and off topic. I think Lee Min Ho has a great stylist. I have seen pictures of him at various events and he always looks smashing. The use of the suspenders to jazz up an otherwise ho hum outfit is pretty creative imo.
@14 Sere – that was not the only fan he locked fingers with. In fact, he did that with a few others. It seems to me that he really appreciates his fans and he wants them to know.
He is a great talent indeed. Not only is he blessed in the looks department, he also has the acting chops to match. Hope he remains humble and down-to-earth always.
Update:
Okay, last night’s attempt to get Lee Min Ho hair was a failure (cheap 2 in 1 shampoo, then 100% gel, and then I blew out my hair with hot air, the result was straight sticks of hair going every which way, electroshock therapy styling).
So this morning, I shampooed and conditioned with relatively upscale moisture-focused nexxus products. Patted dry very briefly, then used a blop of my kms hair play, followed by a smaller blop of gel for a crispier edge. Then I blew out my hair with cold air, forward following the contours. Then I walked into a bit of freeze hair spray and then used a fine comb to separate, and blew out cold again. Result? glossy slightly wavy hair with plenty of movement but manageable. Lee Min Ho’s secret hair process is solved.
I could have painted my face ghost-white with bleached flour and used my wife’s gloss lipstick to finish the look, but I stopped there.

Lee Min Ho is not the best looking guy. But he sure is the hottest guy at this point. He has an styling issue. But it’s ok. He is kidda new and probably trying to see what his best style is. I like him the best when he has curly hair.

Samsooki and Omo (51) – I don’t think he’s wearing anklets. I think they are just velcro fasteners on hi-top sneakers (like old school reebok). They just happen to be silver.

I think you may be right about the sneakers. Still, it’s an odd look when taken in the aggregate.
My understanding is that Koreans like to set up ‘concepts’ for events and it looks like this particular concept is “laidback 80′s teenage girl” meets “the modern woman” or something like that. A non-threatening look designed to bring comfort and nostalgia to young and old female fans alike.
The problem (if there is one) is that it leaves men completely frozen out.
Can I get away with suspenders that don’t reach my pants, bracelets, rings and lip gloss? Doubtful.
This brings to mind how some stars are being marketed, as being “safe” and “cute” rather than being masculine and drool-worthy. Compare, then, this particular “concept” to the concept of the Lotte Duty Free CF (which was, “I don’t care what gender you are, I will make you blush and giggle like a little schoolgirl after you watch these hot guys strut around and wink at you”).
I guess some stars are meant for women, but not in the same way as men can be meant for women?

When I was in Korea way back when at the Yonsei summer program for college kids, my Korean speaking ability (along with other similarly unfortunate guys) was too poor to go to a Korean barber and say, “I’d like a quick fade and leave the top alone so that I can keep it down.” Most of JB’s fans are probably too young, but the quick fade was the shiznit hairstyle back in the 90′s, and my understanding is that it came out of So-Cal fusion between LA hiphop and Kor-Am wannabes.
So, anyhoo me and the rest of the unfortunates who couldn’t speak Korean well enough (we all became mimes) had to face the choice of either getting really bad haircuts or doing it ourselves. Necessity makes experts of us all.
Anyway, styling korean guys hair doesn’t take too long. 3-4 mins, tops, after the wash?
So, after you wash and towel dry, take a little blop (the size of your finger tip) of a wax or pomade or creme or something similar, and rub it vigorously between your damp/wet hands. This will spread it out evenly and then also mix it a bit with water to dilute. Then run your hands through your hair. It shouldn’t take too long, just a few seconds. Then use a blip of gel (any max hold gel will work) and work it between your hands and then into your hair. Now here’s the key, you gotta use a hair dryer on cold setting, and then use your hand or a wide comb to make your hair sit down and run towards the front of your head (this is the way most korean guys’ hair follicles point – towards the face. do not fight it). Then take a tiny bit of hair spray and “set” your head with it. Then blow out your hair again, cold air, this time with a fine comb for the forehead area bangs. This will prevent clumping of hair around the forehead, giving a nice Lee Min Ho kind of style.
The wax/pomade/creme will make your hair sit and manageable, the gel will give it some gloss and edge, and the spray will set it and give it more gloss. Blowing out the hair with cold hair will keep the shine and the natural body.
If you want to skip the shine, forget the gel and the hair spray. You will still need to blow out cold tho.
I love Lee Min Ho but I don’t understand why he is wearing lip gloss, bracelets and dressed weirdly? He has on a WTF outfit.
I guess I’m talking out loud, why guys wear lip gloss, tight pants and girly accessories? I know in Dramas and Movies they do that but why in public? Gosh, for me its such a turn off. Yuck lip gloss. eeww. Please not on a guy.

Yes, I agree absolutely, he earned it so he could buy as many M Benz cars as he wants. However, during this time of recession and everyone else having a hard time, even those in Korea included, he should have shown a bit of caring for others.
How about start preparing & save up coz he might have just been lucky with BOF.
(Mind you BOF was popular not only because of his single effort alone but due to the joint efforts of Kim Hyun Joong & the other F4 members + “Jan Di”). I’m just wondering if they’ve started Mercedes Benzes too?

After the horrendous schedule that “F5″ went through to film the BoF series,
isn’t Lee Minho allowed to wear jeans, a white t-shirt and a fun sweater
to this fan “meet and greet?” OK, the make-up was a mistake. But next time,
he’ll know better. This guy may be just a kid starting out, but I think that he did
an incredible job of acting. Just watch the end of Episode 23……from the happiness during the picnic, to the total devastation after the bus drives away.
It’s called acting. And this guy can do it all.
To start off behaving as a cruel, selfish bully, becoming an arrogant jerk, then turning into a heart – broken man with nothing but money, and a mother from hell……..this charactor earned his happy ending. So did the actor portraying him.

The thought of him looking at me already gives me a wonderful thrill. How much more me being his girl. I want to know how it feels being pursued by him. I want to know how it feels hanging out with him. I want to know how it feels talking with him. I want to know how it feels to own his heart. I want to know how he loves.
