Thirst gets a U.S. release

This is pretty cool: Park Chan-wook‘s recent Cannes jury prize winner, Thirst, will have a U.S. theatrical release.

Film distributor Focus Features (a division of Universal Pictures) has picked up the vampire thriller; it will open in theaters in Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, and other large cities on July 31. The film has already been sold to approximately 20 countries throughout Europe, South America, and Asia.

Thanks for the info, javabeans! I'm a bit obsessed with vampire movies/stories! *lol* Do you by any chance know what other US cities will be getting the film? (New Orleans, I hope!) Can you tell me where I can get more information about the film's release?

I am so excited about this! I wanted to see Thirst, but had no idea how long I was going to have to wait for it to come out with English subs. Now I can get the full experience in a theatre. Woot!

I already made a date night with my hubby. We are big fans of the director and try to catch everyone of his films in the theater since when do we get to experience korean films in the states in a theater?

I love living in NYC.

Yes yes yes.

I just watched Twilight with a bunch of my friends. I'm hoping this movie will help me get the bad taste out of my mouth.

Lord! let Thirst prove that vampire tales can indeed be illuminating!
