High Kick Season 2 coming in September

The young cast of “Unstoppable High Kick” Season 1

Hmm….. When it was announced that the popular family sitcom Unstoppable High Kick was thinking of another season, I was skeptical that it would actually happen, if only because a great part of its charm was its hot young cast of new faces, and they’ve all gone on to bigger things. They include: Jung Il-woo (Return of Iljimae), Kim Bum (Boys Before Flowers), Kim Hye-sung (Boy Meets Boy), and Park Min-young (Ja Myung Go).

And yet, production is indeed under way for a second season, and will bring back gruff grandpa Lee Soon-jae — but switch the rest of the actors. Among them are Jung Bo-seok (La Dolce Vita, Dae Jo Young) in the dad’s role (acted in the original by comedian Jung Jun–ha) and Oh Hyun-kyung (First Wives Club) in the mom’s role (originally acted by musical actress Park Hae-mi). Grandma Na Mun-hee will not return, and the season will start fresh with new storylines. The series is currently auditioning for its new set of fresh faces.

Season 2 is not yet on MBC’s official fall schedule, but it looks like a promising follow-up to the currently airing sitcom Tae-hee, Hye-gyo, Ji-hyun.

I don’t know about this. I have a lot of affection for Unstoppable High Kick, but without any of my favorite characters returning, it seems like just a weak excuse to slap a successful name onto a new sitcom, doesn’t it?

when i saw the title of this article, my face immediately brightened up...

but then it mentioned a new cast and my face fell almost as suddenly.

*sigh*
i loved the adorable cast in season 1. i really don't want them to ruin the good name of high kick with different people because the original was and always will be the best

OMG Parl Hae Mi & Na Mun Hee !!!!!! They were my favourite characters!
At least this sequel will get the HD treatment.

But seriously ?! why make a sequel if it'll have fresh storyline and none of the old and funniest characters will be back?

MBC America should seriously release this on DVD, it's been 2 years and I'm still mad over this issue

I seriously loved High Kick, but what's the point of having the rest of the cast replaced and only have the grandpa? I want the old cast, but I guess I'll just have to try to like the new one (if I do watch it, that is).

hey, maybe the new season will have wittier cast? it seems like a launchpad for young actors.

but i haven't seen first season, so i'm just optimistic. :)

ahahah yeah most of the kids from the original casts are big stars now...

i still cant believe its was chansung who played the annoying kid from the school
he looks totally different..but in a good way bcoz he looks hot now!

high kick is totally love...its gonna be a tough ride to follow it. esp with a different casts coz comparison cannot be prevented. ^^

This was nice, really addicting sitcom, really unexpected, everyone was against the cast (well at least international fans), but I was optimistic of this new breed of casts, and they never failed me, InAh-KwangSoo couple was the funniest pair ever in High Kick Franchise.
