It’s been a while since we’ve had info on Ninja Assassin, and now we get a look at the newly released teaser poster (above) and trailer video (below). This is the second promo poster; the first is below the cut, although you’ve probably already seen it floating around.
I don’t think the artwork looks like Rain at all, but I suppose he does look badass. A bit feral and way photoshopped, but that’s probably the point.
Ninja Assassin is directed by James McTeigue (V for Vendetta) and co-stars Naomie Harris, Rick Yune, Ben Miles, and Sho Kosugi. The film is set for a North American premiere on November 24.

I love Rain… I hope this movie is a sucess. I know he worked hard and did his best so I hope this movie is worth his hardwork.
Never really liked him before, untill I watched “Full House” then I was hooked. I was surprised how talented he was as an actor not to mention his stupendous ability to dance.
About his latest flick, Wow! He is rockin’ it. One Badass Ninja! Am definitely going to see him in the big screen.

Come on now, if someone doesn’t like a star’s performance in a particular drama/film/album/concert, or if they are just not a fan, it is their right to express their opinion. People who love him also have the right to rave about him, so that’s only fair, no? These are public figures who are used to hearing criticism, not our baby brothers. (They in fact need to hear various kinds of criticism to continuously make their performances better, because everyone has room for improvement, right?) Criticism of Rain’s performances is NOT the “kind of comments that make entertainers commit suicide,” as most entertainers who have done that have done so after being attacked for things in their personal lives (such as money, or in the case of a few women, their appearances). Besides, Rain is an international star (no denying this whether you like him or not)- do you think he’s really flustered at all by people’s comments online? To believe that his self-esteem would be linked to such a silly thing is kind of condescending, don’t you think?
That Colbert skit was funny.
If and when Rain strikes it big, I am sure that Colbert will say that he created Rain. LOL!

When he first came out, my parents were like, “how come you can’t be like Rick Yune, tall, graduated Wharton Business School, does TaeKwonDo, worked on Wall Street, and now is famous? His parents must be so proud of him! He is in every Korean newspaper now!” So, officially, I hate Rick Yune.

I don’t get why people shove that “you have to know his life story” shiz down everyone’s throat. Sure, Rain had a tough life, but so have a lot of other people and I don’t hear you all glorifying them for pulling themselves up and making something of themselves. And to those saying that the rest of us HAVE to respect him? Please! Respect goes both ways, and is earned, not given.
There are many circumstances where I’ve heard that he refuses to pose for photos with his fans or give autographs. Then there are the cancelled concerts with no apology that came directly from him. Where’s the respect in that? But his fans are always there to support him. I admit, I was a fan, but after spending money for tickets and airfare to both Hawaii and Los Angeles, I refuse to back someone like that who didn’t care to explain himself or apologize to us.
But hey. If he rocks your world, so be it.
Uh, are we criticizing the movie or criticizing him as a person? Girls, please, move on. If you don’t like him as in person, how well do you know him? I’m not a fan either. But some of you sounds like you know him as in you are one of his friends. We don’t know him. Well, we know his name, but not his personality. Who knows and who cares? All I’m thinking is this movie looks cool.

Though I think I’ll lol when I hear sentences that are meant to sound straight forward and Rain’s accent kiks in to make it seem like a joke. Aside from that I hope that it’s awesome, don’t mind the accent since it makes teh movie much more realistic.

No..I don’t think he’s a great actor…he’s just an average. There are MANY other Korean actors who are so much better than him. Sure, he has worked his body off and he worked hard for that. I give you that, but to say that he deserves the part in Ninja Assassin because he’s a great actor, I think you are deluding yourself. THere’s not much of acting required to play in Ninja Assassin. Kicking other people and showing your body aren’t acting! He sucks too as a singer. I Saw him in the Star’s Avenue opening and he looked so grumpy and arrogant. And Bi fans called him friendly??? I don’t see that. AGAIN..THIS IS JUST MY OPINION AND THE LAST TIME I CHECKED, THERE’S STILL FREEDOM OF SPEECH IN THIS LAND!
I’m not sure why there’s so much bashing about Rain, he’s a decent actor in my opinion, even javabeans thought so. As for the Love to Kill issue, I think the fault wasn’t on Rain’s acting skills; it was the script which started off decent but leads on to a confusing and disappointing ending, even I had to stop watching it because it was going no where.
I’m a martial Arts movie fan and I definetely like blood in my movies and this looks decent enough to see.

I was actually responding to everyone who said that we all should respect him simply because he had a rough life and worked hard to get where he is. If that’s not dealing with the movie, then I’m sorry. It was put out there, and I’m just responding. Like how you had to go off-track and respond to my post. I’m sure you can relate to that.
Well I’m going to go against the crowd and actually talk about the movie and trailer. It looks promising in the action department. I’m afraid it will disappoint me in the plot department. I’m one of those strange people who actually think actions flicks can have a good story and have a million action scenes. I’ll probably wind up renting it on DVD instead of wasting 10 bucks at the movies.

He DOES sign autographs – but only if there are not many fans around. Also dependant on his mood.
He does NOT pose for photos with fans (lots and lots of complaints abt this) – unless he happens to be in a land for courtcase and he needs support (yea, he will even hug you. Other times? He will run far far away from fans) – do I need to mention that this is also when there are media cameras around?
His company (J Tune) also happens to employ the biggest bozos in Korea.
Trailer looks really good. I am a big fan of martial arts and action flicks so I have high hopes for this movie. I am really excited that a lot of action movies this year had asians featured in them, like Wolverine, Blood the last vampire and now this one. Pretty cool.
i really hope he gets the same amount of attention and praise as the degree of dedication he had put in.

I’ve watched the trailer and the movie look very promising. When it comes out, I will watch it at the theaters mostly because of Rain and because I love action flicks! And I will buy the DVD too!
Of course, every celebrity will have Fans and anti-fans! So be it! I don’t care what everyone thinks of rain. If they don’t like him, oh well. It’s not the end of the world.

Ahh, I’m so happy to see Rain in a big(ish) Hollywood movie.. I knew that he was trying to make it over there but I haven’t really heard of anything good (urgh, Speedracer..) until now. It does look good, I’m still worried about his English, though I’ve heard his accent in some videos and it sounds good at times. True, he isn’t exactly the best actor ever, but we’ll have to see how the movie goes..
rain? noemie? love interests? This movie looks cheesy and not my style, but I’ll watch it if it pairs what I see as tone of he rarest interracial pairings in the media… I can’t tell if they are romantic in this movie though
