"there’s just something so WRONG about a Vampire Slayer doing/being w/ a Vampire that makes the whole show so freaken RIGHT"
Hear, hear, I have nothing more to add - only to applaud how perfectly you summed up the Buffy/Angel and Buffy/Spike relationships (I liked one the former, but loved the latter - for all the messy feelings, the wrongness, the attraction of it).
That's why Buffy and that wet rag Riley never worked (or Angel/Cordelia for that matter). And what they turned Buffy into in the Season 8 comics (I gave up mid-way through) was just wrong. But any Buffy is better than no Buffy.
@147 Signet
"Anyway, i’m in Paris at the moment and sorely missing CH…i have to rewatch all episodes after 10…this is my first time in Paris and its beautiful but I need my dramas too… :’("
You're gonna re-watch the latter half of CH in Paris? Oh lordy, I am so envious yet so happy for you, lucky one! To watch the most romantic drama in the world in the most romantic city in the world, sigh. Synergy bliss on so many levels. Enjoy your trip. I liked Paris, but I love Barcelona and London more. But anything beats being home in the OC this weekend.
@ ockoala
I won't get to watch CH here coz comp time is limited unfortunately....plus I want to watch with good subs and video quality, not viikii...
Paris is nice but I miss sky scrapers...I'm from the New York area and to me a city is not really a city without sky scrapers...like i think I could visit here often but early closing times and the overall tranquility make it too boring and peaceful for me to ever live here...and I live in suburban area...
I was actually thinking of going to London on my day off (tomorrow) but its three hours and the ticket is like 100 euros one way i heard...and that's definitely not on my budget...but what do you think is it worth it to go now? or should i just visit the city separately another time?
iIve lived in the UK before, so that's partially why I am biased towards loving London. I've also lived in NY (when I attended law school), so I do concur that is city is not a city without skyscrapers. Everything else is just suburbs or urbal sprawl.
I would not visit London just for one day, like you said, the ticket is not cheap, and you are spending 6 total hours on the chunnel. Visit London when you have (at least) 3 whole days, if not more. A day trip, you can only visit Buckingham Palace and the Tower of London, maybe a side jaunt through Hyde Park and Picadilly Circus, which is totally a rush job. I think a lovely tour of London and southern England can be done in a week.
So, just reminiscing about City Hall while you are in Paris, no prob. I think watching viikii for me was an absolute must during the airing, but having a chance to watch CH on DVD is soooo much more intoxicating, like seeing my Jo Gook on the big screen, hearing his sexy voice, and staring at him in those suits, jesus, I think he's probably the ONLY korean male star who has the height, length and leaness to pull off such perfectly tailored suits. Meowr.
Oh, lucky you to be in Paris right now, trying to decide whether or not to go to London! I'm envious. I've never been to Paris, but London is one of my favorite cities in the world. I'd love to go back someday. I think the next city on my list is Chicago, though. I've never been there but I think I'll really like it. I'll be in Denver in 3 weeks though!!
@ockoala
Finish the book! Who knows what changes may or may not be in the movie, but the book is very nearly perfect. And I don't know about the OC, but it's miserable in Mississippi today. SO hot and humid. Although, who am I kidding...I'm miserable here every day, no matter the weather. I miss living in a city so much (Signet, I'm with you, just show me skyscrapers and I'm happy)!
When bought at a Tube station or other Transport for London agent, one- and three-day Travelcards are sold on a paper ticket with a magnetic strip, and Travelcards lasting seven days or more are loaded on to an Oyster Card.
It's just a form difference (one is paper, this other is plastic), but Travelcard works just fine if you are a tourist visitng.
For the second week now I've tuned in late to find over 150 posts already. Can't read them all but will just add my 2 cents for this Friday!
I'm overjoyed to discover Dramafever is uploading Snowman on Monday. As a KRW fan I needed something to ease the pain of his upcoming departure into the military. Never been able to find this drama so it made my day to find it will be on Dramafever.
Really enjoying The man who can't get married. 2 more episodes to go! CH has the best kiss but this drama has to have the worst! (Sorry is that a spoiler?)
Luckily my doctors office is not that far from Ktown LA so after my quarterly visit yesterday, I ventured down Western to the Korean supermarket and replenished my supplies of hot pepper paste etc. I also acquired a new cookbook so all set for a Korean food fest. It'll have to wait till next week as I'm about to begin my 3 day compressed work week.
Have a great weekend everyone!
@ ockoala
I agreed with you about CSW and the suits! He looks so good on the catwalk. For a man pushing 40 he can still give the youngsters a run for their money!
Reading the chat about London has got me all excited as I'm off there in Sept. for 3 weeks. I'm having an internal debate as to whether I should take my laptop with me. Can I do without my dramas for 3wks? What if I suffer withdrawal symptoms? Will I be able to get a quick fix? The other me is saying, of course you can! I can't waste vacation time in London transfixed to the small screen! But what if I'm jet lagged and wide awake at 2am surely it wouldn't hurt then to watch a little Kdrama would it ?
What 162 comments alreay! gee this one looks like another marathon - awesome.
Gotta go out - but just watched finished ep 13, and half way through Ep14 of CH Argggh why do i HAVE to go out today! Gonna have to race back to a) read the rest of this OT and b) park my butt on coach later tonight to finish the rest of CH. I cannot be thinking of how I am missing CH tomorrow when I plan to catch Harry Potter (finally!) I am SO going to burn the midnight oil.
So DBers Aja Aja fighting for your comments. Look forward to an entertaining read when i get back!
Dang it's already in the 160s...
too bad we live in a different timezone, i alway so late reading the open thread, by the time i open it, the comment woud be like more than 150 already... and since i'm working i can not (but maybe i can, depending whether the boss see me or not :P) read whole comments above...
anyway, thank you so much for the all cityhaller for recomennding this drama, i've been downloading it this week (up until ep 11 though, the net speed is soooo slow) and i've watched until ep 7, cried, laughed, and just LOVING IT!! it too bad i have to work today, if not i would've been glued in front of my computer watching Mirae n Jogook... i've slept at 2AM last night when i suppose to work on 7 the next morning, i need coffee real bad!!!
I read on IMDB that yesterday (31st July, well it's already August 1st here) is the US premiere of Thirst, did anybody see it yet??
Goodness! This thread seems to have ended quickly. Has everybody gone out to live their lives? For the SiFi buffs, my favorite of all is/was Farscape. As for regular shows, really like Burn Notice right now and get a kick out of Leverage. The rest, not so much. So glad there's other things to do during the summer. Have a great weekend everyone!
@35, thanks for clearing that up for me. I'm a Korean-American so based on those cultural things, I assumed as much. I'm comfortable calling Shin Mi Rae "Mi Rae" but for some odd reason, find it odd calling Jo Gook "Gook" lol. :) Maybe it's just because all the other characters call him by both names, whereas some characters call Mi Rae by just her first name. No matter though; regardless of his name, I love him!! :)
the first drama that got me addicted was Coffee Prince. It had a refreshing plot and of course GY helped.
After reading all the good things said about City Hall, I am going to start watching it and also looking forward to My Fair Lady....that is if I can get off this 1N2D addiction. I've been watching episodes after episodes and there's so many. It just provides me with hours of laughter and I love the chemistry between the 6 guys. Anyone else watches it?
TW dramas definitely lacks when compared to the K dramas. Like lovenyc52 and chajjye, I mostly watch it to keep my Mandarin up to speed. Or when I am in the mood for that type of drama.
I'm going to have dinner at a friend's and will see if this thread keeps hopping later tonight. Have a great weekend everyone!
Late entry here, but on the question of the first drama to recommend to someone new to K-drama... Coffee Prince. No question. I've successfully hooked a number of friends who initially not just scoffed but outright laughed at my k-drama habit. They're hooked now and I most definitely have had the last laugh there.
One friend I managed to hook with Hanadan--she fell for Domyouji pretty hard--but Coffee Prince has been the reliable intro. It was my first full k-drama and I was completely absorbed ... I watched one episode one evening, on a whim because the name was so weird. It was good but I almost didn't really know what to think about it. A couple of nights later I watched another one. Then the third the next night. Then I started staying up and watching two or three one after the other, and finally finished with a Sunday-on-the-sofa marathon.
I can't recommend it enough. I'm with the City Hallers, too. It's going to be one of my all-time favourites, I'm pretty sure. Right up there with Coffee Prince (I can't imagine it will ever be knocked out of first--I just watched it again on dramafever and it was every bit as good, even better, than I remembered), Kim Sam Soon, and My Girl.
"anyway, thank you so much for the all cityhaller for recomennding this drama, i’ve been downloading it this week (up until ep 11 though, the net speed is soooo slow) and i’ve watched until ep 7, cried, laughed, and just LOVING IT!! "
Sigh, reading this immediately transports me back to my virgin CH watching experience, the awe as I am watching this drama unfurl, and all the sincere emotions one experiences along the way.
I recommend you read Samsooki's recaps after you are done with CH, as it's a whole nother level enjoyment. I liken the recaps to a novel while CH the drama is the movie. Plus, we recap readers have caught so many nuances we didn't catch the first time around, so it's totally lots of fun and useful.
If even one drama lover tries CH each week on OT because of our recommendations, then I feel content knowing Hallers have shared goodness with fellow drama lovers. I know some readers are probably turned off by the City Hallers fervor, and that's fine, I know it's hard to get over the initial skepticism over watching a drama set on a political backdrop, plus some drama bloggers like Javabeans hasn't liked CH after watching the initial episodes. Everyone has been raving about Black & White, and I've even put it on my to-watch list, but I have yet to start. Speaking of which, I'll try to watch 1-2 episodes tonight!
@163 bspanda
Hope you finish CH this weekend (from the episode you are on until the end, do not schedule anything - you will either kill yourself when you are doing that other thing, or you will neglect that other thing in order to finish CH). Good luck, and can't wait to hear your thoughts on recap comments section.
@162 coco
"For a man pushing 40 he can still give the youngsters a run for their money!"
I'm definitely a latecomer to the Cha Seung Won bandwagon, but I can't be blamed as he is a mega movie star in Korea but hasn't been in dramas for many years, and I almost only exclusively watch dramas. However, that man's charisma defies earthly logic, if there was ever a man stamped with star quality, it's him (along with heavies like Lee Byun Hyun, Jang Dong Gun, etc.). And these real manly men are totally the bomb, and a refreshing change for me to watch when I've really been watching dramas with the young idols, some of whom are definitely young stars in the making also with that certain "it" quality. But Cha was a model turned actor, so when I see pics of his on the runway shows, yowza, he's a model!
mmm......where's everybody?!??? Did all of you agreed to go for a crazy soju night without me?!?? : (
and i thought it's my day.....
shoot!!......
anyway, I just caught a glimpse of samsooki's name here.... mmm... was thinking your partner/boss probably stuck with you the whole day... ^-^ ..... your list of songs are mostly quite mellow and romantic(for a guy)...hihihi!
mmm....samsooki, you are like our mascot here...so, we get all anxious if you dont appear!
hhaaaa.... wanna go to that DF Launch Party, wanna volunteer too....*frowning* ...cant go....work....
I have to really really agree...he is soooo hot....love him best with a suit on...and that long legs *sigh*... am so so glad that KSA is tall too, just perfect! *sigh*
hahaha!!! bet your hubby is all squished now....
got back from the outing....hurriedly took a bath...and plopped myself in front of my laptop and checked the thread...too late!!! lol!
Perfect ending in any sense! It's like, what a soompier described, fireworks. One wave of excitment after another, each topping the previous. A caution to those who have the bootleg DVD set: they stopped CH when the credit rolls out. Mistake big time! There are a few minutes more....please watch the ending in full, say, via Viikii.
Not even fanfic can do a better job than this, spot on, ockoala.
About to board the plane for a business trip and it's comforting to have CH and my laptop for the long haul flight.
Hopefully, by the time I get off the plane, another re-cap by the wonderful team of Samsooki, Otimelost, cleown, and mead33 will be up.
Shhh, no more gushing about CSW, else hubby will be even more jealous. CSW is not only almost 40, he has a 20 year old son! Still can't quite wrap my head around that. Hubby has taken the babies to water the backyard, so I'm about to start watching Black & White, yay!
Yeah, it's really quiet now, but hope you've read all the earlier posts, we had lots of fun today. Thanks, Javabeans!
for all City Hallers, keep on going without skipping episodes! it TOTALLY worth it (:
and if anyone is looking for a drama to watch right now and you love all the highly rated dramas on this site, you should totally watch Brilliant Legacy. it is just awesome. Awesome.
hey, I loved black&white! Have fun watching it! Bet youll love the newbie too!!! Hihihi!!!
one of the very few TWdramas that i liked....
while waiting for triple, he who cant marry, and partner.... am planning on checking out Air City...was it langdon813 or mishane?!.. who said LJJ was hot there...^-^
I'm waiting to download episode 1 of B&W, wait so long. I can't watch t-dramas with any english subtitles, as it really distracts me, I try to read and watch, and it's a mess.
As for our hottie du jour Cha Seung Won, yup, his son is tall and handsome as well, how's that for family genes. And he has a little 6-7 year old daughter, too. And he's been married this entire time to one very lucky lady. So, let's recap: hot, sexy, great actor, and a total family man. Geez, the universe sometimes just bestows goodness for us to enjoy, and it did so when it cast CSW as Jo Gook. Without CSW, there would be no JG to linger forever in our memories.
@174 epyc
Where have you been! Busy at work, I'm sure, esp. since you're headed on a flight now. Have a safe flight, and a productive business trip. With City Hall to accompany you, what more could you ask for as a companion.
Anyways, langdon813 and meh and I have been holding down the Haller fort in this OT, with lots of recreational and new Hallers popping up, so cute! I, too, cannot wait for episode 10 recaps, kinda understand what it must have felt like for you early CH watchers to wait for episode after episode, geez, it would have killed me, especially episode 13 onward!
@169 reluctantbutaddicted
Embrace the addiction, my friend. Your top 4 are also my top 4: MNIKSS, Coffee Prince, My Girl and last, but not least, City Hall. A lot of Hallers have the same 4 as well, but the order changes from person to person. However, these are shows are definitely have staying power, or re-watchability and desire to re-watch.
178 is me, lil' ockoala. Don't know why it popped up as Anonymous. Reads so ominous, like I'm trying to do an interview with a news show with my face blurred out!
I've been around all day, but I've not had much to say. I lurk when I'm not commenting. Still, y'all should know that I try to read just about every dramabeans thread and comments, except for recap threads for dramas I've not seen yet. I may not comment, but I read.
Tonight though, I was translating for a bunch of dramas, and so not much time to talk or read.
i know i'm really late at posting but i didn't have time until now and it took forever to read some of the comments from before... anyways, i totally agree with mie and rifae about deokman... i've only seen up to the war episode (when deokman told them to form a circle) but deokman is totally annoying the heck out of me... you're right, she's very rash, too emotional, arrogant and yells at everyone around her 24/7... not to mention, she's very immature and comes off a bit dumb... i sure do hope that there will be a big change in her character very soon because i feel the need to skip her scenes at the moment... which makes it difficult to watch the drama seeing as though she is the main character... i love the rest of the cast though, from mishil and all her men to chun myung and alcheon... for some reason, i am loving alcheon right now... hahaha.. i think the rest of the characters are very complex and they're the reasons why i'm so hooked on this drama right now (all except deokman)...
anyone else watching true blood? or entourage? these are the only US shows that i'm hooked on at the moment...
ahhh. friday!!
The most fun so far. i went shopping!! woot woot. it has been awhile. i didn't splurge, got what i needed and good deals so im satisfied. no more shopping now.
and then went to the oc fair- ate kirspy kreme chicken fried sandwich and fried oreo. omg. and fried bacon.
my roomie and buddy ate and left-- haha that what we came for. so sad.
oohhhh..... I was tiny bit disappointed that he's all married with kids....'coz
whenever i watched CSW and KSA together in CH, they looked so into each other and the idea that they might be seeing each other outside the set was always lurking in my mind... it wasnt a bad notion! I was all for it!
anyway...am curious about his kid.... probably a hottie too....^-^
@ samsooki
^-^ hehe! and i thought you are already snoring by now.....
finally, spending 4 hours sneaking to read all above comments :P
@170 Ockoala,
actually i've read Samsooki's awesome recaps before watching CH, an most of the drama i've watched (recently) due to the awesomeness of JB (and other recapper guests, including Samsooki) recaps
CSW is 40??!! has a 20yr old son??!! with a little daughter??!!
i can not believe someone who is that handsome is 40... i never see any men in their 40s looking smokin hot like that...
"So, let’s recap: hot, sexy, great actor, and a total family man. Geez, the universe sometimes just bestows goodness for us to enjoy, and it did so when it cast CSW as Jo Gook. Without CSW, there would be no JG to linger forever in our memories."
aww... too bad he's taken... sigh... the main reason i'm so reluctant to shutdown my laptop and go to sleep last night was because of their chemistry, the tension is soooooo high i just burst into flames (like some posters said above)...
- about the first asian dramas, well mine is Tokyo Love Story, because well, it's shown on TV :P
but for firstimers i would sooo recommend MNIKSS, coz my friend who didn't like any asian dramas (coz she said simply because she didn't understand the language), is so hooked on MNIKSS. but when i offer her to see other dramas, she refused them flatly :(
Hey birthday girl! I've never had soju in real life, but I'm toasting you with my "virtual soju" as we speak. Hope you had a great day!
Yes...Lee Jung-jae and I have been together all night, although I suspect I enjoyed it far more than he did. Heh. 3 hours of Air City tonight followed by a rewatch of the last two eps of Triple (mostly subbed now). I cried my eyes out. Again. I keep saying I "really really" like Triple, but I should just admit that I sort of loved it. I am so in the minority, I know, but the last hour really nailed it for me. I have a lump in my throat even now. Ah...I'm such a sap. :-(
Now back to the original question, is LJJ hot in Air City? OMG, yes. Of course, he would be hot wearing four parkas and a face mask in Siberia, but fortunately we don't have to worry about that with this show. I'm telling you, when that man smiles, it kills me dead. Maybe because he has such a serious face or something, but his whole face lights up like a Christmas tree when he grins. Cha Seung-won has got the eyes (and the legs), but LJJ has got the smile.
I think I just talked myself into a couple more hours of Air City tonight!
Samsooki, we missed your witty commentary this OT Friday, but on behalf of all the other non-Korean-speaking Kdrama addicts...er, viewers out like me, thanks for all your hard work today!
I've seen some of both True Blood and Entourage. Both were intriguing (in very different ways) and I think I would have continued with True Blood just to see what Sookie turns out to be, exactly. I really like the world Harris created and the basic storyline but the show's fixation on violent sex and v-juice was starting to overpower the actual story for me. For current shows, I have to say my favorites are Bones and Merlin (bbc).
@meh
I don't know if anyone has answered your question about Stargate, but for myself I would say start at the very beginning, it just gets better from there until they start dragging out an ending around season 9. I also loved the start of Stargate Atlantis, btw.
@langdon813
no worries. I've got to use a cane myself - especially considering that my knee is currently swelled to twice its normal size... more incentive to watch dramas, I guess?
:-D
"Cha Seung-won has got the eyes (and the legs), but LJJ has got the smile.."
You hit it on the head, sister! When LLJ as Hwal smiles at Haru in their last scene together in Triple, geez, my heart broke. His subtle acting really was just a pleasure to watch (happiness tinged with sadness). I don't share your love, or even like of Triple, but the beauty of dramas is that the viewer can take away what we want. I came away from Triple feeling empty inside. And it's not the tenor of the ending (i.e. happy, sad, etc.), but more that the entire drama didn't feel complete. Maybe that was the entire point of the show.
Good night! Maybe I'll catch Air City for LLJ now, thought I read all of Java's recaps and the stories and secondary leads seem very weak. But I have recently begun to like Choi Ji Won after watching A Star's Lover, after really, really feeling bleh with her after Winter Sonata and Stairway to Heaven. Do you like her in Air City?
@183 Meiko
"whenever i watched CSW and KSA together in CH, they looked so into each other and the idea that they might be seeing each other outside the set was always lurking in my mind"
I know, it's often impossible to separate JG from CSW and Shin Mirae from Kim Suh Na. They melt into their characters, such consummate actors. Let's not be homewreckers, but sigh, if both were single and got together.....cue the fireworks.
I enjoyed watching a lot of BTS spots (SBS put out loads of them, check in viikii), and to see how compatible their acting talents are makes it easy to understand why they click as an on-screen couple.
LOL!!! thanks! the day has been good, not great, but good though!!!
i just started watching Air City, ep 1....oohhh....impressive for an ep.1....looks good!
*giggle* you are so right, LJJ just has this very serious face...havent seen him smile in Air City, so far he has been sweating, running around the airport (no wonder -no smiles yet)...but in Triple...hihi! I melted....^-^
and regarding Triple....oh shoot! You are wallowing!!! bad ending?! Not good! not good! I havent watched the last two ep....aaahhh...dreading it....i dont wanna cry!!!
LOL!!! Need help with the walk?! You need someone to give you a "piggy back"... *wink wink*
@186 langdon813
"you young whippersnappers "
LOL i don't know whether (almost) 30 can be count as young :P
@188 ockoala
"enjoyed watching a lot of BTS spots (SBS put out loads of them, check in viikii), and to see how compatible their acting talents are makes it easy to understand why they click as an on-screen couple."
the last scene i watched last night were BTS shown on the ending of ep 7, and the very last scene showing CSW n KSA laugh together, and i never see any drama couple looked sooo right for each other...
Oh, please don't think the ending was sad just because I cried! I cry at insurance commercials! I didn't think it was bad at all. I promise. Other than that...no further details! ;-)
LOL at the piggy-back comment!
@190, bbm
Almost 30 looks pretty good to almost 45, let me tell ya!
You know what really makes me feel old, though? I have a 24 year old son who is going to Las Vegas for the first time next month! Granted, I go every year, but the thought of MY BABY in Vegas is just too strange.
Hey open threaders! it’s my first time to actually comment on an open thread and also just a Kdrama novice! see!? i even wrote first on Open Thread #93 and then just copy-pasted to this! FAIL.
But ive watched a few dramas so i guess i can say i know a little or two about dramz. and i liked some of them, rolled my eyes at some and super loved the rest! So I’m not really sure with the dynamics of open thread biz but i can honestly say i love DRAMABEANS.COM it’s really my guiding light in KDRAMA and KLIFE!!!!!
my friends bought me Soju for my birthday just because im so into Korean right now. Yes i use Korean as a general term for Kdrama, Kpop, Kculutre and my efforts in looking like a Korean (i have bowlcut hair). HAHAHA So anyway wish me a wasted night ahead!!
Can anyone recommend a good kdrama to watch right now? I’ve finished some and I’ll list down the ones I like, so you can give me a direction of what dramas to watch.
Loved:
Coffee Prince
Dal Ja’s Spring
Soulmate
Shining Inheritance
and first few episodes of Triple but then I stopped.
and of course BOF! but for the eyecandy
im currently watching “He Who Can’t Marry” but it’s not really clicking with me. I just like it cause it’s funny and clear haha
Well, in that case... my son is 30 years old!!! He's still like a baby to me... I've discovered something I have in common with CSW, Yes! I was 40 when my son was 20 as well!!!
Anyway, I saw earlier on this thread that someone above somewhere is going to Sydney tomorrow, so am I, it's a long fight, baby! either from SFO or LAX. Bring plenty of water(worth spending $$ at airport shops, some supplements for relaxation or else, be in comfy clothing especially if you are traveling in economy class. If you are traveling on one of the U.S. carriers, I might be seeing you.
I'm trying so hard not to lurk around Triple Soompi's thread. I'm currently watching ep 12 - and dunno whether I'm emotionally down or what - I was suddenly crying when Poongho told Hwal that he'll take care of Haru.
He was so kind and understanding.
And the way he said to Hwal " at this age, aren't all doing like this ( admiring their seniors )?" - this is conclude all the story!
I'm hoping for a really good ending! ( wish I could understand Korean!! )
Everybody who wants to go on a trip/ holiday particularly here in the Uk,better booked it in advance,the ealier you book a ticket the cheaper you can get, that's what I learned after living here for almost 8 years now in London but i think it applies everywhere . The only thing you have to do is plan it ahead of time.I was in Paris last week for 3 days and 2 nights with euro star and I enjoyed it very much...
Brief visit - good to see see this OT is rockin! Not read, will come back for that!
Am gonna finish City Hall tonight even if it kills me! Currently on pause but had to share this! For those in the last OT - Remember how I said had said that the CH gods are mocking me? I'll update that - CH Gods are are KILLING me.
Why? How?
How's this for murder - came home, got self completely organised for CH marathon, thought no one will call me, no need to put phone off. Right?
CH Gods have a (evil) sense of humor.
When did I get the a call?
SMACK (and I mean SMACK) in the middle of the stair scene in Ep 15 - when i was REALLY REALLY INTO IT (no spoiler, but CHallers you know which scene I am talking about!!!) *faints* Holy hell!
I thought 'KILL ME NOW!' I DIED! DIED! DIED!
Had the brief chat then had to make follow up call. So pissed! But then again not their fault - they not laid eyes on CH (yet!) Spoiled my mood, for a bit, that I HAD to rewind and start from the beginning. But I'm still mad at how 1st round got messed up. Good thing that my love for CH revived me.
And YES Ep 15 is as great as people said it was.
Here is hoping I finish the rest in peace.
My only worry is that i cannot hold on to rant about each ep until each recap - as quickly as the CH recap gang post them! Is there a chat room for me to rant in? Soompi? Self help group? CHers I think I am going rant HUGE!)
OK gotta go CH Ep 16 calling me now...TTYL :)
(am going to not come back till I am DONE DONE DONE - then I can get help for my withdrawal!)
:) Lemme know if you need any of the songs for your temporary research purposes. I can email them to you. For your study and review perhaps...in keeping with copyright law and the doctrine of "fair use."
bspanda -
Do let us know when you finish. I would love to hear your thoughts on Eps 18, 19 and 20.

@152 Signet
iIve lived in the UK before, so that's partially why I am biased towards loving London.

@ockoala

@156 Snikki
Paper and Oyster

@163 bspanda
Hope you finish CH this weekend (from the episode you are on until the end, do not schedule anything - you will either kill yourself when you are doing that other thing, or you will neglect that other thing in order to finish CH). Good luck, and can't wait to hear your thoughts on recap comments section.

@ CH Ending
Perfect ending in any sense! It's like, what a soompier described, fireworks. One wave of excitment after another, each topping the previous. A caution to those who have the bootleg DVD set: they stopped CH when the credit rolls out. Mistake big time! There are a few minutes more....please watch the ending in full, say, via Viikii.
Not even fanfic can do a better job than this, spot on, ockoala.

@174 epyc
@169 reluctantbutaddicted
Embrace the addiction, my friend. Your top 4 are also my top 4: MNIKSS, Coffee Prince, My Girl and last, but not least, City Hall. A lot of Hallers have the same 4 as well, but the order changes from person to person. However, these are shows are definitely have staying power, or re-watchability and desire to re-watch.

i know i'm really late at posting but i didn't have time until now and it took forever to read some of the comments from before... anyways, i totally agree with mie and rifae about deokman... i've only seen up to the war episode (when deokman told them to form a circle) but deokman is totally annoying the heck out of me... you're right, she's very rash, too emotional, arrogant and yells at everyone around her 24/7... not to mention, she's very immature and comes off a bit dumb... i sure do hope that there will be a big change in her character very soon because i feel the need to skip her scenes at the moment... which makes it difficult to watch the drama seeing as though she is the main character... i love the rest of the cast though, from mishil and all her men to chun myung and alcheon... for some reason, i am loving alcheon right now... hahaha.. i think the rest of the characters are very complex and they're the reasons why i'm so hooked on this drama right now (all except deokman)...

@170 Ockoala,
actually i've read Samsooki's awesome recaps before watching CH, an most of the drama i've watched (recently) due to the awesomeness of JB (and other recapper guests, including Samsooki) recaps

@meh
I don't know if anyone has answered your question about Stargate, but for myself I would say start at the very beginning, it just gets better from there until they start dragging out an ending around season 9. I also loved the start of Stargate Atlantis, btw.

I know, it's often impossible to separate JG from CSW and Shin Mirae from Kim Suh Na. They melt into their characters, such consummate actors. Let's not be homewreckers, but sigh, if both were single and got together.....cue the fireworks.
I enjoyed watching a lot of BTS spots (SBS put out loads of them, check in viikii), and to see how compatible their acting talents are makes it easy to understand why they click as an on-screen couple.

"you young whippersnappers "
LOL i don't know whether (almost) 30 can be count as young :P
@188 ockoala

Thanks!
