From community service to army duty for Joo Ji-hoon
by | August 20, 2009 | 29 Comments

Antique Bakery and Devil actor Joo Ji-hoon has completed his 120 hours of court-ordered community service. This is part of the punishment handed down by the judge following his indictment for drug use last month.

Joo began his community service at the beginning of August at a social welfare center in Songpa-gu in Seoul. As with the other employees at the facility, he was there daily from 9 AM to 6 PM, and worked with the disabled and elderly. According to his management on August 20, “He completed his 120 hours of community service as of this morning. For the time being, he plans to remain at home quietly.” Furthermore, the recent rumors that Joo had shorn off all his hair were refuted; it was explained, “He merely cut it short because the weather is hot, but people had interpreted that as more meaningful than it was.”

Regarding his future plans, the management said, “He plans to enlist in military service at the end of this year. He will serve in the first reserve.”

So what does this mean? Joo’s sentence was for 120 hours of community service, 6 months of deferred jail time, and 1 year of probation. According to his sentence, if he is clean for his 1 year, he will not go to jail and that punishment is essentially erased. If he fulfills his army duty, it’s one more step toward rehabilitating his image with the public (and makes his year-long probation rather easy to track).

I have to say that I liked him as actor. Well, Devil was crap, but he was good. Anyway, I think he just gets of more easily because he’s famous. I do hope he manage, but I don’t think he should be too lucky.

Oppa, I feel sad and sorry for you, but oppa remember this that things don’t always happen they way we wish they would.
There are moments in which we feel we are seeking something that is not meant for us, knocking on doors that don’t open, waiting for miracles that don’t manifest themselves.

Fortunately that is the way things are – if everything went the way we wanted, soon we would no longer have anything to write about, nothing to guide our daily thoughts. Spend all their energy in the Good Fight, there are moments in which it is best to relax and believe that the Universe is still working for us secretly, even if we cannot comprehend it. And so, let us allow the Soul of the World to fulfill its mission, and if we can’t help, the best way to collaborate is to pay attention to the simple things in life. However, in many cases, time continues passing and nothing exceptional happens. But the true warrior like you believes, just like children believe. Because they believe in miracles, the miracles begin to happen. Because they are certain that their thoughts can change their lives, their lives begin to change.

Those decision come to be the best one, we’re support and love you always, I do hope you find the real happiness and blessing after all those storm. We’re always behind you no matter what :)

    Saranghae Oppa, fighting!

just spend some times overseas, after the discharge from army service; just to forget and forgive; to breath new fresh air and be recharged, shave and dress up, leave behind all the black days, meet some new people, DRUGS trouble – what ‘s the big deal !! I thank GOD that nothing is more precious than this life HE gives and the parents who nourished us. Live this life to the full and be proud and like your motto – be happy.
