If the lead guy is as hot as Won Bin, I would put this in my “watch out for” list. But daym, as much as he’s talented he’s ugly! and Soo Ro too! Well, Soo Ro doesn’t matter since he’s the antagonist, but couldn’t they at least cast a better looking male lead.

Yes thanks Javabeans..it just that the TV show would be at the forefront of most peoples minds..I doubt Very much that without the TV show the film would have been made. Perhaps it being, like robinhood is in western countries, a film about Hong Gil Dong in korea would not be at once linked to the tv sieries as it is for us outside the country.

@bjharm, the Hong Gil Dong story pre-dates the TV drama. It’s a famous folk tale, so the KBS drama is only one version of the story. This movie is based on the original premise, not that specific version.

The way that he’s carrying the girl in the 2nd pic looks awkward, kinda like she’s heavy or maybe she’s not limp enough. It looks like she’s hanging on with her other arm…

lol I still can not see how they can be Hong Gil Dong’s Descendants when they all die before they had any children, but for the old guy and the young lad, but as I hated that ending, what does fact based off a fantasy tv show matter ..:-)
{well he was a bit of lad..maybe they Hong Gil Dong’s Descendants born on the wrong side of the blanket so to speak}
The lead guy ears..they look like lethal weapon on their own…:-)
ow i see checked the linked post…they just the film Hong Gil Dong’s Descendants nothing to do with the TV show..well other than cashing in on the tv show to make a film..nothing new in that happens all the time.
