Lee Junki releases a Thai photobook

Lee Junki, who enjoys strong popularity throughout Asia, is launching “Sawasdee Khrab,” his Thai photobook whose title is taken from the Thai phrase for hello. He revealed the book in Bangkok on September 27 and held a press conference before a hundred reporters from various Asian media outlets. Lee also received a special plaque from the Tourism Authority of Thailand in appreciation for his service in boosting Thailand’s image as honorary spokesperson.

Lee Junki’s photobook was produced with the backing of the Korean-Thai Chamber of Commerce (KTCC) to commemorate their fifty-year anniversary. The collection comprises a book and DVD that is based on the concept of Lee taking a solo journey to Thailand to get away from his busy career.

According to the Tourism Authority of Thailand, it is unusual for the Tourism Authority to award an official plaque of appreciation to a foreign actor. Lee’s projects have enjoyed success in Thailand (such as My Girl), and with his 2007 drama Time of Dog and Wolf, which was filmed in Thailand, he became the first Hallyu star to launch an official fan club in that country. He was even invited to a birthday event for the Thai king in 2007.

Lee’s photobook Sawasdee Khrab will be revealed not only in Thailand but also in Korea, Japan, and China.

Next up, he will star in the new MBC drama Hero, playing a small-time reporter and co-starring with Kim Min-jung, Eom Ki-joon, and Ji Chang-wook. The drama is currently filming.

That's a big mistake on the pronunciation. It should be read/spelled as "Sawatdee" having no /s/ in the middle.

I have the beginnings of a mad crush on Lee Junki. I finished watching The Time Between Dog and Wolf, and why on earth is this drama not listed somewhere on people's Top Ten lists? It is so good! Yes, it has a couple of terrible arcs, but overall it is such a great show! It's definitely now on my top ten list, not least because of perfectly beautiful Lee Junki. What a face -- and what gorgeous eyes! I thought So Ji Sub had the best eyes among K-drama men, and LJ beats him!

What a great concept for a photobook, especially after Time Dog Wolf.

@13

Oh! I love TBDW! So far this is the drama where Lee Jun Ki really looks hot! Very masculine( i know he tends to look girly in some other dramas because of his face) in every angle!!! I wasnt really into the female lead....no chemistry at all. But Lee Jun Ki's action scenes, aggressive kissing scenes and full screen time made up for that lack of chem between him and the female lead... ^-^

@13 Nom_Kitteh

Time Between Dog and Wolf is my number one drama so far. I have seen more than 50 dramas and Time Between Dog and Wolf steals the number one spot. Not only because of Lee Jun Ki. In fact, my favorite actor is LBH, then I love Jang Hyuk, and then on third place, I follow So Ji sub. So, is not because Lee Jun Ki is a fav. But because the drama is really good.
Script, music, plot, actors, they were all great. And I loved that the drama was short, because every episode was so intense there was no time for you to get bored, really.

So don't feel sad if you see lots of top 10 list with dramas like My Girl, and Full House... people that like Time Between Dog and Wolf are scatter, but we are here!!!

"Time of Dog and Wolf" is precious. Drama series that is satisfactory from all angle is really hard to come by.

@14, 15, 16,
Thank you for chiming in! I agree with everything you have said.

I am glad that there are out-and-out fans of this drama. The ratings were high, but honestly, I wouldn't have checked it out if it weren't for it showing up on NetFlix and I needed to get a disc in before the end of the month. Then I watched the first three episodes (first disc) and was all, "OMG, this is amazing stuff." And then it never let up -- and kept getting better and better.

I wish I could now go somewhere to chat about the show :-). I thought the development of the relationship between Lee Soo Hyun/Kay and Mao (the bad dude) was just brilliant! I couldn't get enough of the two, and perked up every time they were on screen. The dance between hatred, vengeance, genuine paternalistic love was so lovely to watch.

And yeah, there was zero romantic chemistry throughout, but I was okay with that because of the intrigue and action.

Lee Junki owned that drama. He is so good. And @14, I agree that he tends to look too feminine but there was none of that in Time-Dog. I hope he is masculine in Hero.
