You guys amaze me — Open Thread #100 managed not only to keep going strong all week long, it’s surpassed 400 posts and shows no sign of abating. Well, if not for #101 to come and take its place, that is!

SONG OF THE DAY

Tori Amos – “Leather.” I said that the Kim Yoon-ah song I posted last night (in the post below) reminded me of Tori Amos, so I thought, “Ooh, Tori Amos.” [ Download ]

I'm never this early on OT. It must be the time difference. I'm now in Malaysia, visiting family, relaxing and enjoying good food.

To those who love 1n2d, I'm so bummed ahboo got shut down because of KBS world. I am not a fan of downloading the episodes and have relied on his blog for my 'fix'. Does anyone know where else I can go for streaming episodes with english subs?

Wow congrats! I never go to Open Thread after I leave work (it's my Procrastination Website on Fridays, lol) so I had no idea it went to 400 posts. That's a lot!

Question to all you veteran kimbap makers! I'm going to the supermarket today to buy all the ingredients needed to make kimbap for the first time, including the bamboo mat. Now, I've googled 'How to make kimbap' so I think I have a handle on the usual ingredients (IE cucumber, carrots, omelet) but the one that's making me confused is the meat.

I don't eat ham, which is what they recommend. So does anyone know a chicken or beef alternative I could use that I could cut into strips and put in the kimbap? I don't know what would be a good substitute. I can't be the only one who doesn't eat ham, so for all the others out there, what would be a good substitute? Suggestions?

Also to all the music fans out there.

The Pixies are playing a Dr. Doolittle show in NYC. They are only playing songs from their Dr Dolittle album, which is my favorite. UNFORTUNATELY, all the tickets are sold out. ;( I am not happy about this.

Also, did anyone see the movie Once? Well the duo from it, The Swell Season, is doing a US tour! YES. How excited am I? They are not playing in NY which sucks sucks sucks but I'm driving to Philadelphia for their show there.

And I'm very tempted to buy the Blink 182/Fall Out Boy tickets. Blink 182 was my shit in elementary school and I figure I'll go and lose my voice. I never thought they would get back together for a tour. What a shock, especially knowing the BTS drama there.

Man, I will be spending a lot of money on concert tickets in the next month or so.

Happy Friday everyone!

Was it just me or did this week pass by super fast?? Maybe it was OT 100 that kept me going all week. I even checked up on it before OT 101 was posted this morning (i woke up super early and could not go back to sleep, so what else to do but check DB's site? haha)

Cannot wait till this weekend for Tamra Island eps 13 and 14.. i was bad and went on soompi and saw some spoiler pics but now it makes me even more excited haha. I really don't think i've ever been on a soompi thread until Tamra and it's kind of exciting to read what everyone thinks w/o worrying too much about spoilers cuz that's what people go to soompi for i guess? haha. Haven't been able to stop listenin to the OST which i love in it's entirety...

Semi-busy Friday ahead of me, but i'm pretty sure it won't stop me from checking in on OT hehe.

@mishane, I've never used ham in my kimbap but a common alternative is to use seasoned ground beef. (You can also use bulgogi, but that's not necessary.) And spam is a do-able, too.

Bulgogi is good...or you can also try o-deng (fishcake).

IMO, kimbap is all about the rice.

A few years ago, I saw an Iron Chef sushi battle (Edo chef Keiji Nakazawa vs. Iron Chef Japanese Masahara Morimoto) and like 10 mins of the conversation between Fukui-san and Ota ("Fukui-san?" "Ota - goooooo!" hehe!) dealt with the combinations of different kinds of rice and how to season the rice for the sushi. A smacking good rice taste for the kimbap (or sushi) is paramount.

Btw, if my memory serves me well (hehe), I think Chef Morimoto used 1/2 california short-grain rice and 1/2 japanese style short-grain rice.

Re: Once. I heard the song that won the Oscar first, then I read a bit about it, then I bought the DVD.

I thought the song was really good, but then I saw the DVD and I like the movie even more than the song...

Well I'm just going to use regular rice (we Filipinos use basmati or jasmine rice) which is sticky enough and the recipes I saw said to use vinegar and sesame oil. Actually one recipe said to put the rice in a bowl and mix with vinegar and other incredients and the other recipe said to spread the rice out and just spread sesame oil on it. . .I think I'll do the first option.

Re: the movie Once. I wasn't a big fan of the movie but walked away falling in love with the soundtrack which is why I am excited to see the duo in concert.

The only slightly creepy thing is that the guy is much older and apparently the two dated during the filming of the movie. . .when the girl was like 16 or 17. A little too . . . creepster for me.

I'm SO excited for The Swell Season. They're coming to Seattle, which makes me terribly fortunate. I consider it payback for a number of bands I wanted to see this year that skipped over me *cough* Royksopp.

I'm not sure but I thought The Swell Season had toured with Damien Rice (who does AMAZING concerts, I'm so lucky I got to go to one of his) which would be my dream come true.

I get so excited when my favorite UK bands come to the States. I'll shell out good bucks for those tickets. . .it's not like I go to Ireland on a yearly basis.

WOW. Can I share a funny story please?

I work at an orthopedic surgery center and in the paperwork, patients have to fill out their medical history. One older lady put this on her Allergy list:

Current Medical Allergies: Sulfa, Codeine, Penis

Yes, she is allergic to penis. LOLOLOLOL.

(Our office theory is that she's older and doesn't know how to spell penicillin. I ASSUME that's what she was trying to put. I hope. I really hope.)

JB, it's you who keeps us coming back here day after day!
Let the champagne keep flowing!
:D

----------------------------------------------

Okay, I can't blame adding to the ozone layer just on my laziness.....I'm always running late for work, and the extra 15 minutes saved by driving is much needed. Hey, l can't help that I'm always running on Korean Time. It's in the genes! :P For the uninitiated - Koreans are always late (and it drives always-likes-to-be-punctual Mr. hjkomo crazy....too bad, he should've paid more attention to his learn-about-Koreans kdrama - maybe, that's why the female lead was always running. ha!).

So, hubby left this morning for a camping/brewery-tour up north. I decided to pass
on the trip. Why? I'm not much into camping...and I don't like beer. Maybe, I'll open up some of our good wine while he's gone...hehe... ;)

Carryover from OT#100:

@ simplesim

Wow, I can't believe you tallied all the posts! That must've taken a long time!

re: Anne of Green Gables

You can get all 3 miniseries in a boxed set at Amazon or other retailers (Costco is cheaper, when they have it).
http://www.amazon.com/Anne-Green-Gables-Trilogy-Box/dp/B0007NMHNS/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1253286381&sr=8-1

And what is this??? A fourth miniseries Anne of Green Gables: A New Beginning aired in Canada last year? O_O

For the Avonlea spin-off tv series, I also bought the DVD's at Costco. They're quite expensive because there are 7 seasons with about 12-13 eps per season.

I have the VHS tapes for both (in a box somewhere deep in a closet), and you are welcome to them.

Good Morning All!

@ yvhsien
I'm bummed too about 1N2D. It has been my guilty pleasure in the wee hours of the morning. It's hard to not laugh too loud as to not wake up hubby. I'm looking for streaming video, but will probably just DL.

QUESTION.......

What's with all the chaos in the Korean music industry? I don't understand how these young entertainers handle the stress of trying to live to such a high standard. Maybe here, in America,we just don't have any (standards/morals).
Are we just lax in our expectations for this new generation or do we understand that we/they are merely human?
I don't know. Is it my maternal instinct to feel compassion for the kids? (Some are young enough to be my child)

I'd like to know what you think.

i just watched haeundae and omg...the actors are so good. imo, it has a balance between comedy n melodrama so it doesn't ends up sappy crap...but logic switch really need to be turned off.

but though lee minki isn't the main guy... I LOVE HIM! ! ! I've never been so awed by an actor for such a long time. I LOVE LEE MINKI!!!! I love his satturi accent, love his portrayal as the adorable adorable lifesaver. sigh. pure <3

I'm a veteran kimbap maker and I don't eat pork either. I usually use fake crab meat which is made in long strips for kimbap. The other choice is canned tuna lightly seasoned with mayo and salt. The key to good kimbap is seasoning the rice. I just mix in salt and a little sesame oil. Trust me, it's simple and delicious. Good luck!

I have been watching MFL but have been afraid to comment so far. Comments about MFL always garners a lot of heated discussions... ;p but couldn't resist commenting now... the show is actually not too bad, it is not a fantastic show, or even a good show... just okay.... the story telling is uneven and cliche at times, and the styling is distracting... and the whole rich household thingy screams "BOF wanabe" *hides behind a chair*

however, what makes me continue watching is YSH and YEH... both of them are very good... at first I thought YSH did overact and YEH was pretty bad at pulling off the bitchy heiress... but now the two have settled comfortably into their roles especially now that the two are showing their true selves to each other... and both do look very good on screen... separately... however hard i try, i cannot imagine Hye-Na and Dong Chan being together as lovers... Hye-Na's feelings towards Dong-Chan seems more of reliance rather than love... and the little hints that the writers introduce to tell the audience hye-na is falling for dong chan seems out-of-place and too in-your-eye...

Furthermore, call me a traditionalist... even if the two did get together as lovers, would dong-chan still be the butler and hye-na the CEO of Kang San group? Isn't this too idealistic an ending? Unless the writers decide to let Dong-Chan have a good job other than butler

I do not have a lot of faith in the writers ...if I am not wrong, they were also the writers for When It's At Night... which is another story.. but suffice to say, the writers were not up to par. But still, for the eye-candy, I will willing to continue with the MFL train ;p

whew, said my piece, now i am at peace ;p

Hee! I've been wondering the same thing about the ending. I've got two thoughts. I think it will be difficult for the grandfather to outright say no to Dong-Chan simply because he *likes* him DC makes Hye-Na human. Maybe he'll feel guilty about the status quo. I don't know where that will lead, but,...it's something a little less traditional.

Or, the other option is to have Hye-Na not be the successor. She's not that interested in the company. Her youngest cousin is smart (for his age), and while Su-Ah is a money grabber, she's at least competent at business.

@blkrose:
the idol syndrome = idols must be perfect, talented and yoo jae suk like. people are wanting entertainment. and the more entertainment they want, they expect every idol to be great and perfect...in fact, they demand it. it's the price artistes pay. like actors. the better they are, the higher expectations goes. and when they don't deliver...heh.

but idols have higher profile, imo. and they have things like official fan clubs and such. and then you got crazy netizens like anti-fans. then a nice disaster like haeundae happens.

that's y is so chaotic right now. but the most chaotic has to be 2pm, dbsk, suju. the three mega groups that got really popular this year. 2pm especially. dbsk performed in tokyo dome. suju's 3rd album was a smash hit (made me a fan)...

it's just a bad year for boy bands and great year for girl groups.

bad:
dbsk, suju kangin & eeteuk, bigbang gdragon & daesung, the infamous 2PM jay, shinee onew incident.....etc.

good:
2ne1, 4minute, BEG, SNSD...and all the other rising girl groups, including one called HAM. Yeah, don't ask.

Though I'm not a fan of 2pm or jay, i think because of the jay incident, i'm turning into one already. :S just trying to update myself frequently bout this boy alone.

@chajjye and BLKrose,
I have also been keeping close tabs on the 2PM/jaybeom mess, and it is partly because I am old enough to be his mom. I have three daughters, two of them teenagers, all of them starting to use email and access the Internet a lot. So the 2pm scandal caught my eye, and I told the story to my girls as a sort of morality tale:
Here is a boy who had a big dream, and he travelled far from home and worked very, very hard to make it come true. At first it was so hard that he hated it, and he wrote home to his friends on the Internet to vent his frustration. But things got better, and then he was chosen to become part of a group, and the group became wildly successful, and all of his problems were behind him. He forgot all about the feelings he used to have, instead he had lots of friends and thousands of fans and his picture everywhere. But someone dug around on the Internet, found those old messages, and they made people hurt and angry, and he was forced to go back home in disgrace, perhaps forever. And the moral of the story is...
My daughters got the message right away, about being very careful about what gets on the Internet because it lasts forever. But my heart still aches for this kid, who worked so hard to re-invent himself. I don't know him, I find the music fun but forgettable, but what has happened to him should be a story everyone hears; it's a cautionary tale about Internet culture, about unforseen clashes between cultures, and about how four years can be a lifetime ago and a million miles away to a teenager but here and NOW on the 'net.

@hjkomo - lol @ korean time... it's more like asian time in general! back in college i was in an asian-interest sorority and when we had events with other groups we'd always say 'ok meet at 7pm' but we all know that meant meet at 8pm!! we learned to always say to meet way earlier cuz everyone lags and runs on asian time. it's a way of life :)
ps - i saw you on soompi!! hehe.. i always get excited when i recognize people on different forums. i'm a nerd hehe.

@blkrose - yes it has been a very sad 2 months in the world of idol kpop. here's my 2 cents on it. just my opinion :) i think everything there is such a big deal because these idol groups are expected to be pristine and flawless. i mean, they're even called IDOLS... people practically worship them (see: Cassies and recent Hottests). The fandom is their livlihood so they do whatever they need to in order to please said fandom and any scandal or flaw in themselves they see as letting down their fans. a huge part is also the conservative asian culture. i don't think it's that Americans don't have standards/morals but we're a lot more liberal in our views so what an Asian society sees as scandalous and career-ending we may just not agree with but it doesn't affect us.

For example, Kangin's recent alleged bar fight. It could potentially have huge reprecussions for him and suju because idols aren't really supposed to be drinking much less physically fighting, but if this happened in the US, we'd be like eh, just a kid bein immature. he'd apologize and we'd move on.

It just really sucks that there is practically no wiggle-room in the kpop industry. one mistake and you're out on your ass. it is a very unforgiving industry and unfair that these hardworking idols are rarely acknowledged as humans who make mistakes like the rest of us. however, i feel it is also the management companies who bow to the pressure of fans too much, giving them way too much power. I remember the whole issue with the Care Bear leggings that 2NE1's Minji wore and how YG apologized and said they'd be more careful what their artists wore in the future...wth?? Then with the Chansung littering on Wild Bunny "scandal'- yes it's bad but has anyone ever NOT littered?? It's sad when management companies feel they have to apologize for every little infraction fans/antis perceive happened. I can't even get into the Jaebum/2PM situation cuz it gets me too fired up haha, but that is the ultimate sad kpop news for me...

it's still friday here, but I want to say it early : Happy Iedul Fitri for all the Moslem readers!

Now I'm at my hometown, suffering low internet connection - but I have to be grateful at least I STILL have internet connection! :D
I brought my laptop, new external HDD ( it's Samsung and it's shiny RED! Love it), my modem, and Queen Housewives episodes in DVD.
But I couldn't get my dramas' fix yet, because everyday since I arrived I'm tired helping my mom on her store.

400 posts on OT 100?? Ah! I should check it again!

Oh, I want to say thank you to Javabeans and Samsooki for subbing Project Runway Korea. I love PR - US version or Korean one. Thank you!!

I just started watching 1N2D! TT__TT what should I do now?
Btw, I thought the show is popular, even more popular than Family Outing? Why there's no subbing team for it? FO even has 2 groups!
I really want to see the episodes with foreigner guests.. Anybody knows where I can get the subbed episodes? Thank you!

hi everyone!!! *waves*

i jumped on the City Hall bandwagon this past weekend. i'm just starting ep 10. (somehow my dl got corrupt, so i have to re-dl.. damn) and tho i'm enjoying it for the most part, i do have to say, i dislike Jo Guk. if he likes her, then like her.. ditch the fiance and don't string Mirae along. otherwise, get the eff outta her life and stop using ur influence to "better her to your standards". and i dislike Mirae's baby talk. you're 36. it's not so cute anymore... really.. it's not. it annoys me actually. other than that.. Soo In is hella hot.. and if i don't blame him for what he did.. if i were in his shoes, i prolly would do it too.. Boo Mi rocks!! so that's where i am..

i'm so proud of everyone that kept OT100 going and passing the 400 post mark. it's amazing!! and to Samsookie and simplesim: you two amaze me w/ taking time to tally up the top dramas and # of posts everyone made. thanks!

Oh gosh don't get me started on the Jaebum fiasco! I have commented so much on KPOP blogs its not even funny. Now, Kangin is involved in some "scandal". Haayz not a good month for KPOP. SuJu is always on top of my fave list though I'm mostly fangirling over Teukie. Kangin is not my fave member but still it's sad to see the whole group go through this when they've been working so hard. Watching their SS2 press con in HK (with Kangin, Teukie, and Kibum MIA) breaks my heart. They all look exhausted.

Anywayz, since I have been too fixated on the KPOP scene during the past months, I have not been updated with KDramas after finishing City Hall. Any recommendations?

Okay so I watched 9E2O from recommendations on this very site, and while I ended up really enjoying it, I have a question I'm hoping someone here can answer:
But first, let me get this out the way-
SPOILER ALERT!

Okay :). Was Sung Ah cheating on Hyung Tae with their friend that died? That was the impression I garnered. If so, this will probably make me dislike her character even more so. That's definitely something I get tired of in dramas- the irresponsible girlfriend ( and sometimes boyfriends) who just up and leave, and then come back and immediately expect to take up things where they left off, and the scorned lover not being able to get angry at them and just taking them back. Does that bust anyone else's buttons?

@skelly:
yeah, wisdom should always be practiced. the problem with jay was because his statement was translated in the way that got people really angry. it's like honey lee couldn't win miss universe because of bad translation, same goes with jay. but i feel for him still cause he felt the repercussions of his actions so severely that got the kpop industry upside down and him out of korea.

however, the other lessons should be learned, imo, is that learn to respect privacy. time is precious and it shouldn't be wasted in scouting for messages/pictures/etc aeons ago. and get rid of the plank in front of your eye before picking on sawdust on others' eyes. what if celebs dig out the netizens ugly behavior instead? (not that they have time to, but you get the point)

@ lovenyc52:
i agree with you. fandom in korea (or asia) is VERY different from america. perhaps not so different if you compare elvis and michael jackson cases. fandom in korea demands all of the idol to the extent of really dictating their lives. as i've mentioned before somewhere else, a lot of these fans are young people and they look to these idols as a role model, or as a dream figure they cannot have themselves. it's like those parents who put their own dreams on their children. so when their role model seemed to have insulted them (as in jay's case), their castle in the air comes tumbling down, which shouldn't have been there at all. the whole value system is wrong.

i so wish kangin is innocent, btw. if he has to leave, take kibum with him and then put in henry and zhoumi and you'll have only 13 again. XD but seriously. i hope for the best. heck, kpop has been making me hoping for the best.

no one is born perfect. and the ideal world...has a long way to go.

@ Javabeans, I couldn't help but LOL at your tweek. My mother used to have a very old TV that even when you turned it off, you can see a very faint flicking on the screen. The sound was so soft you couldn't not hear it but occassionally the volumn would suddenly be loud and then quiet. Shocked, we would turned around to see that the TV is still off. It got really freaky at night. I finally convince my mother to throw the thing away.

HEE!

I peeked at Soompi and saw a Tamra spoiler pic! Ordinarily I avoid spoilers like the plague, but with Tamra (and City Hall before it) I'm greedy and grabby for any little tidbit I can get my hands on. I can't wait for tomorrow!

Just finished MFL 10 and thought it was okay, not great. I think my expectations were really high after 9...but it's like 3 steps forward, two steps back. YEH and YSH and their wonderfully expressive eyes are the only reasons I'm watching it; JIW and MCW just aren't given enough to do (neither is little Wang Seok-hyun, but I can understand that, because with him in the scene, who else would get any attention?) I'm starting to have the same opinion of MFL that I did about Triple. I enjoy it for the most part and look forward to each new episode, but I'm always left with the feeling that it could be SO much better than it actually is.

I think MFL would be more interesting if there were real sparks between Eui-joo and Tae-yoon; something along the lines of Que Sera Sera, where all four romantic leads are all entangled in each others lives and it's a toss-up as to which couples will end up together, if at all. It would be so much more exciting if Eui-joo and Tae-yoon also felt the same "I want you but can't acknowledge it" tension that Hae-na and Dong-chan feel for each other, rather than the cliche of one-sided love. What a shame to have such an uber-cutie in JIW and not use that to its full advantage! I'm not even going to mention the Unfortunate Hair.

The real story here (to me) should have been that Hae-na and Tae-yoon are together because of their similarities; upper class birth, chaebol status, and common interests and talents. But they don't love each other and are strongly attracted to two other people; Eui-joo and Dong-chan, who are also together because of their commonality; family loyalty, middle-class/poor upbringing, and desire to rise above their station in life. But none of the four realize this and fear breaking out of the mold and/or hurting their respective partners and families.

But I get that MFL was always intended to be a fantasy, similar to BOF, and I'm wishing for it to be something else entirely. Oh well... ;-)

Countdown to IRIS is on! LBH and TOP trying to out-hot and/or kill each other. Good times!!

Yeap, Seung Ah cheated on Hyung Tae with the friend who died. But I don't think Hyung Tae knew about it because Nan Hee didn't tell anyone?

The fact that Seung Ah just came back without notice and immediately wanted to claim Hyung Tae back irked me off. Didn't even have to wait until the scene of Nan Hee witnessing the "kiss" to make me dislike her. <_<

@ Re: Jay's departure from 2PM

I think this whole situation is getting more and more dramatic. From Jay wanting to leave personally, to him being forced to leave by JYPE silently, to JYPE concocting this conspiracy to kick Jay out.. We will never know what and which is true or false.

Hopefully everything will die down soon... and when the rain and gloom clears, Jay will come back?

re: korean dramas

i feel so sad when i see something quirky, fun or well-made flop completely in korea but i know that if something similar were aired in japan or somewhere, it would be a great hit. it also makes me sad that korean versions of masterpieces like nodame or pride (sports & romance) probably wouldn't do well in korea (as seen in the case of "the man who can't get married"). 'cause in the end, it just makes me think that korean viewers don't want originality or smart - they want action every 3 minutes, bad jokes, cheesy lines, makjang plot twists - anything to entertain them but not force them to think for an hour. it's just laziness.

or maybe i'm just still very very bitter that boo-hwal didn't get the recognition it deserved. and that tamra is being cut into 16 episodes.

@31 ladymai -

SPOILER ALERT!

Okay . Was SOME CHARACTER cheating on SOME OTHER CHARACTER with their friend that SOMETHING SOMETHING?

Answer: yes, but I think one of the significant thrusts of the drama is that everyone makes mistakes.

The main characters, the satellite characters, nobody is perfect. We all do stupid things, and forgiveness is part of the territory with these imperfect people who are trying to make their way through life and remain friends and together.

Some of these people have histories dating back 10 years, 20 years, even 30 years together, and but for timing and circumstances, bits and pieces of fate and/or coincidence, things just happen. The test of friendship is whether those little twists and those "things" will keep them together or break them apart.

9E2O doesn't try to answer all the questions, and certainly there is a lot of leeway given by the characters themselves, but this is the only life they have and know, and those are the only people who have been with them for so long, and so there is something to be said for that.

I'm not saying I agree or disagree, but I understand.

@31 ladymai - The impression I got is that Sung-ah and the friend were quietly seeing each other before she met Hyung-tae, which is the reasion she can to Korea in the first place. Then she met Hyung-tae, and those two started dating, but she didn't completely sever ties with the other guy. And yeah, that bothered me too. I didn't have much sympathy for her to begin with, but that destroyed whatever good feelings I may have had towards her. :/

@38 langdon813 / @41 lovenyc - OMG I KNOW! I can't wait for that scene, kekeke. This show is turning me into an Im Joo-hwan fangirl. The EMOTING! Holy hell, how does he do it?

----

I've been following MFL pretty closely, but I stopped actually watching the episodes awhile ago (with the exception of that awesome scene at the end of episode 9). For me, it's missing something that I can't quite put my finger on. It's very pretty visually, and I'm constantly lusting after HN's wardrobe, but I feel no real pull towards this show. Maybe I'll watch it later, once I know how it ends.

I also finally got around to watching Return of Iljimae, and OMG. JIL is awesome. Why did he choose such an empty character as TY for his next project? Seriously disappointed in you, darling.

@ 43 Samsooki

What an eloquent way to put that. And I agree.

Also, I was wondering if people were upset about Nan Hee not telling Hyung Tae this. I can understand why she wouldn't; it would hurt Hyung Tae too much and at that point it was old history (plus the friend passed away). There was no reason to.

Okay, I'm still here, I won't be able to continue my journey of love with LBH until tonight, too many interruptions, and LBH and the soundtrack to Beautiful Days deserves my full attention.

@ 41 lovenyc52

Since I'm a relative newbie to k-drama, I have also not seen LBH's dramas because he hasn't been in any recently (last 6 years), and I typically eschew the earlier hallyu works.

A few weeks ago, I asked in OT if anyone recommended the oldies but goodies (I was kinda in the mood for good ole melodrama), and I got a few telling me to check out Hotelier and All In. I've seen Winter Sonata, so I know the BYJ love from the ahjummas and okasans, but watching Hotelier was not my cup of tea, seriously, I was bored senseless, I quit after 6 eps. So, the next up on the oldies as All In, and I'd been kinda resistant to watching b/c I don't much like Song Hye-gyo, I've never experienced the LBH effect, and the recent STS (being called All In 2) which I didn't like.

However, in an effort to resist the siren's lure of Tamra (so I can watch the entire drama without waiting for the new eps), I finally popped in All In, and can I say, OMG, LBH is All That. he's everything that you ask for in a movie star and actor!

I understand now, how he is the undisputed #1 Korean male star in Korea, he has IT, whatever IT is. I would compare LBH to Tom Cruise or Brad Pitt, i.e. perhaps not the absolute thespian, but a very good actor, very very good, and is a genuine bona fide star in every respect, he's not a mortal choosing an acting profession, he just is a star, plain and simple.

Check out All In and Beautiful Days. I enjoyed/am enjoying both. @ epyc, I have now seen the back acting scene (I would not rest last night until I saw it), and much as I find it improbable when you spoke of it, but I happily concede, LBH can act with his back (and every other body part - don't get me wrong. My favorite is his smirk).

And the soundtrack to BD is to die for, seriously, when the credit theme rolls, my heart swells, and I want to start running, as much as everyone in that drama is running, and I'm absolutely positive even more running is to come.

With age, comes wisdom, sometimes.

At first I was like, "woah," but then I was like, "hummmmmm," and then after that I was like, "ehhhhh," and finally I said, "ok."

Even if person A and person B ended up together, then would person C have any cause to try to kill the relationship by ratting out person A? Answer - I think, maybe not.

You want to be with someone who wants to be with you, and not with someone who chooses you because he or she doesn't want to be with someone else. So, what good would it do to rat out person A? Not a whole heck of a lot.

Yeap, I agree with ya.

Happy Friday everyone,

I just saw this and it has cracked me up to no end. Love Epik High and of course my geek-love Tablo. Hope he does another concert in US--I think this song is really catchy.

(I especially love the lightsaber being a total star wars loser)

On a more serious note. Rush needs more drugs.
