The Princess Has Returned on KBS

This hasn’t really been on my “to-watch” radar, but KBS has just launched a new Monday-Tuesday series, The Princess Has Returned [공주가 돌아왔다], which follows the disappointing revival of last year’s popular ghost-story series Hometown of Legends.

The Princess Has Returned kicked off today and stars veteran film actress Hwang Shin-hye in her drama comeback. The 46-year-old Hwang (Family, Destiny) plays a luxury “gold miss” (single and lovin’ it) ballerina, who in the first episode meets up with “typical ajumma” Oh Yeon-soo (La Dolce Vita) for the first time in seventeen years.

  1. First!
I love the picture of them fighting in the mud. lol

  2. woahhh i had no idea tak jae hoon was an actor! i just knew him as shinjunghwan’s buddy from country kkokko and as an mc.

how is he as an actor? makes me wanna check out his movies!

  3. I loved La Dolce Vita but I got bored of OYS quite quickly. All she did was this “eyes thing” where she would look sideways every time she had to act emotional and it got so predictable. I also hated the way they dressed her. More butch Julie Andrews than chic Audrey Hepburn.
It looks like they are giving her another Julie Andrews hairstyle for this drama.

  4. looks like a really fun drama-how many episodes is it going to be?

  5. Wow ! the mud sling is kdramas fashion nowadays including

    the taiwanese drama.

  6. she looks quite young in the ballerina outfit. Wouldn’t have thought she was 46. It would be great to age like that.

  7. I was going to take a break from kdramas after trying to regularly watch 3 at once (Triple, Queen of Housewives, Man Who Can’t Married). But this is so tempting and right up my alley…

  8. haha, this looks like a fun, easy-going drama. i might give it a thought.

  9. I watched episode one and it’s booooorrrrrringggg. The drama is over-acted, even though Oh Yeon Soo is pretty entertaining to watch as a catty, Korean ahjumma (what’s up with the hair). Hwang Shin Hye’s acting is wooden at best!!!! How disappointing. I wanted her comeback to rock … oh well… it’s a major sleeper.

  10. boring. watched the first ep with my mom the other day and couldn’t stand it… it was just a cheap rip-off of 내조의 여왕.
