So the guy is, what, obsessed with the lady in the TV? And because she is of course, in TV and not in person, he gets angry and, in the ultimate projection of anger, grabs the TV set and goes to the BEACH??!!??

Hahaha I guess I really did not get it.

Maybe it’s good as it seems that many movies that I do not get seem to be conceived by others as the best ones.

though i studied film for a short while, i still suck at reading between the lines. then again, these things need practice. heh.

my take on this:

the relationship isn’t going well. guy is frustrated. girl is mysterious and sorta “unreal” to him (i was stuck here trying to think of the best description. T.T). the birdcage probably means the confinement and restriction of the relationship that doesn’t seem to be going anywhere.

other than that, i like the cinematography. not too flashy or too artsy but just enough.

OST: well used. triggers ur thinking. the piano is jjang.

my peeve: connection to the film festival? or are these trailers not suppose to make u think towards the film festival?

but GHS has a knack for being multi-talented. she may not be good in all, but at least she has a bigger range to explore. though yes, jack of all trades but master of none is a frustrating self-concept. i am like that. u can do everything and nothing. T.T

Ok, so I swear I didn’t think about this again until I visited this site after work. Just to be clear, mmmkay??

I agree that people have different tastes, and maybe some people saw something memorable in this video that I didn’t.

Just to reiterate, though: as a person, GHS seems very sweet and kind. She comes across as humble yet with incredible energy–which she must have to work on all her projects in such a short span of time! So I hope that’s the case, that she really is so.

Yet. I’m not about fall in love with this just because GHS made it and GHS tries hard. The concept is verrry interesting, but the result is less focused than I’d like.

In fact, I LOVE how ‘she’ is drawn by his hand (good idea!) and objectified by the t.v. His anger–at least, I think he seems angry when he grabs the t.v.–is interesting, too.

But, oh how I wish, GHS had more spatial shots in there between the man and the t.v. I wish there was more of an implied story. It’s only a minute long, but you can sure imply a lot in that amount of time.

I don’t understand the extended shot of the beach. I don’t understand the birdcage at the end (why not show an empty t.v. set, since that’s the metaphor you’re working with?).

I Dun Get It.

But, yes, GHS is a nice person. -_-

I think the trailer has a retro nostalgic feel to it.. damn I feel old coz the tv set really looks like the one we had when I was about 5..

The music is nice, so I took time to listen to her album on youtube and boy, I was pleasantly surprised! Now I agree with her fans that she’s one multi talented young lady.

Her concept didn’t translate well in her short film.

If you read all articles on JB, those who got bashed a lot are;

i) Lee Da hae-not only her but her fans also got antis. I really like her acting but not on her other career .. SINGING, please ask her to stop doing it again. People also bashed her on her appearance etc.

ii) YEH-always labelled with overrated by people-but I still like her acting especially on comedy part

iii) SHG-also labelled overrated-but I like her beauty more than her acting. Hyun Bin is a lucky guy.

iv) Kim Ta Hea-you can see almost 90% reader bashed her acting. I feel sorry for her fans also.

So moral of the story GHS is not ‘untouchable’.

to film students and film makers and anyone else who familiar with short films this is just like WTF…. i absolute have no clue what she trying to say or deliver… one thing i know after watched it is her effort shows…. trying hard to make it looks cool …. and unable to understand its easily… well you make it~gu hye sun! i cant understand it at all… u are so artsy and random that i wont be able to understand u … i think i should go back to study short film 101 more to be able to understand the deeper meaning of …

i should study more or maybe i should just leave my brain out of my body to fully understand this piece of art…
