Park Jin-woo back in daily drama
by | October 6, 2009 | 22 Comments

Aw, bummer: Park Jin-woo is coming back to television (yay), but in a morning drama (eh). He’ll be taking a part in the new KBS2 series I’ll Give You Everything [다줄거야] as a simple, dense guy with good IQ and bad EQ.

Park explained at the drama’s October 6 press conference that he happens to share a lot of personality traits with his character, who is a proud doctor, such as enjoying being alone rather than being surrounded with others. Although I think it’s a disappointment that he’s in a morning drama (because I don’t watch or enjoy them), as a career move it’s probably not too bad — it gives him wide exposure among a mostly ajumma viewership. He said, “I think actors don’t differentiate between morning dramas and others. I think you should choose a project based on the character.”

The drama I’ll Give You Everything also stars Hong Ah-reum and Yoon Ah-jung, with whom Park Jin-woo shares a love triangle. It premieres on October 12, following the current morning series Janghwa, Hong-ryun.

I fell for Park Jin-woo’s charms back in the college sitcom Nonstop 5; it wasn’t a show whose popularity was based on good acting, but I thought he was one of the better cast members in the acting department (along with Jo Jung-rin and Gu Hye-sun). He went on to show his goofy comic side in Bad Family, which made me think that he could actually have been a pretty good gag man if he weren’t so pretty himself. I always thought he’d have a more successful career, even though he has had parts in dramas like Painter of the Wind. (I’m still waiting for him to break out.)

loved Park Jinwoo when he did Nonstop 5 too… he was paired with Hong Su Ah right? they had the cutest (and funniest) scenes.

he really needs a role that will be his “break”.

I love this guy! he was so funny and sleazy in Bad Family! I think a daily drama will suit him. the only sad thing is that I’m not sure if I want to watch all 100+ episodes of a daily drama….

My favorites in NS5 was Tablo, Han Hyo Joo and Jo Jung rin but not necessarily for their acting more because I just happen to like their personalities. Jo Jung Rin has the best overall acting ability out of the group though.

I haven’t seen Park Jin Woo since Bad Family and I thought at the time he was going to make a jump into lead actor due to his looks and not bad acting ability. Sadly I forgot about him until I saw a rerun of some old NS5 episodes and wondered what happened to him. I guess now I know. Thank you Javabeans! bonk bonk!

Yeah I first saw him in Nonstop5 too. I loved the cast and remember wishing GHS would end up with Lee Seung Gi and Jungrin with Minwoo..but of course it didn’t happen :(

He’s such a darling.. I squealed when I heard about this, even though I don’t have the patience for a long-running morning drama.

Maybe I’ll check out the first couple of episodes anyway, just so I can see him. :)

aww i love him in Bad Family. wish he was doin a normal drama though :(

he was actually the stingy guy in their group… everyone played a character… Hong Suah was the shopaholic, Go Hyesun was the artistic director, Han Hyojoo was the innocent girl next door, Tablo was the smart dork…

i miss Nonstop 5! lots of promising young actors/actress came from that series.

Did I watch Dasepo Naughty Girls because of him? Yeah. Did I regret it? Maybe, cause that film is something you can’t unwatch.

I saw him on TV for the first time in Unstoppable Marriage – he wasn’t a main character but he sure was cute and funny!! And then I saw him in Empress Cheon Chu – he played a totally different character but he was still cute! :) It sounds like this will be another fun character for him – too bad its a morning drama……

Thanks Racquets for the better pic! I’m not familiar with this actor, and JB’s pic really made me go ‘meh’. That boy is super gorgeous..:)

Ok you just gave me my daily dose of laughter. More in the snicker range but a snicker is nothing to sneeze at when your immune system is waging a war with a most uncommon cold that just won’t go away. I’d pay you if I could.

that film is something you can’t unwatch.”

How true! The thing is, I’m pretty sure one can make a fairly decent argument for why Dasepo Naughty Girls was a good (or at least worthwhile) movie. Unfortunately, I can’t come up with any of those arguments.

I think it had some funny skits in it but no overarching point. Some parts tried too hard to be gross-out, while other parts were actually kind of sharply witty (like the mother’s comments about America/Britain and poverty being a beast on your back). I dug the opening school scene with the STD jokes. And I did really like Park Jin-woo in it. Him and Big Razor Sis.

I like your action very much

I love him very much…………..the way he acts is very attractive
