SBS premieres new series Angel’s Temptation

Han Sang-jin of the just-ended Sons of Sol Pharmacy and Bae Soo-bin of Brilliant Legacy are two actors from the #1 and #2 dramas of the year (ratings-wise), and now they team up for Angel’s Temptation, which is SBS’s new revenge drama premiering today.

The interesting thing about this casting, as mentioned before, is that both men play the same character. And forget the nice, warm image portrayed by both men in their previous dramas; in case the guyliner wasn’t a tip-off, we’ve got a bad boy on our hands. Han Sang-jin marries the character played by Lee So-yeon (Why Did You Come To Our House) without knowing that she is solely out to avenge her own family; because of his father, her parents died and she lost her younger sister. Originally a nice guy from a rich family, he is a devoted husband completely in love with his wife, who only pretends to love him back. Therefore, he is heartbroken to learn of his wife’s adultery and undergoes a complete personality turnaround. Deciding on an extreme makeover, he undergoes drastic plastic surgery to emerge with Bae Soo-bin’s face and a revenge scheme of his own. (He also apparently shrinks an inch or so in the process, but we won’t quibble over little things like that, will we?)

If you’re only interested in seeing Bae’s appearance, you can wait until November 3; he doesn’t show up until Episode 8. But personally, I think Han Sang-jin is wonderfully warm, as we saw in Sol Pharmacy — enough that it might be painful watching his heart break into itty bitty little pieces onscreen.

Angel’s Temptation begins this week, and airs a full hour earlier than the traditional prime-time slot to avoid competition with MBC’s Queen Seon-deok.

Holy crap, serious guyliner alert. Why, Bae Soo Bin, why?

I love both Han Sang Jin (before Sol Pharmacy, I saw him in Yi San and he gave an excellent sympathetic portrayal of Hong Guk Young) and Bae Soo Bin, but I'm not sure I can stand the makjang elements of Angel's Temptation. After watching Lee So Yeon cry through the whole second half of Why Did You Come To My House, which seemed to forget it started off as a comedy, I'm not sure I can take another weepfest from her! It's the reason why I never even went near the rather crazy Wife's Temptation, either, but I guess we'll see how it goes. Will you be watching it, JB? I might wait for your comments if you'll be watching it.

Looking forward to this! And yeah it's going to be painful to see Han Sang-jin getting so severely heartbroken >____<

Oh, so the wife losts her sister... I have a feeling that the sister will turn out to be the fourth "main" character played by Hong Soo Hyun (who seems to be harboring feelings for Hang Sang-jin's character since way back). Considering the writer... I'm pretty sure he won't be able to resist that kind of twist.

I laughed out loud when i read the "shrinking" part :) you're wonderful, JB! Got me hooked on a few dramas because of what you've written!

this drama sounds pretty much awesome, but before i label it as awesome, i guess i'll need to actually watch the first few episodes.

i'll reserve real judgment until after i've seen a bit of it.

Please be less than 50 episodes. Aside from the gayliner, I'm really interested in this one. I wonder how Wife's Temptation ended? I hope it's not tragic.

Interesting plot though quite creepy. XD Reminds me of Kim Ki-duk's movie Time where the girlfriend underwent a surgery to get a new face and body too.

They should just call this drama what it is: Dramawesome.

After Temptation of Wife, I'm down with this. Han Sang-jin and Bae Soo-bin are waaay competent actors, and I can't see how this could be anything but "omg did you see it last night" kind of drama.

@1 Lemoncat -

It’s the reason why I never even went near the rather crazy Wife’s Temptation, either, but I guess we’ll see how it goes.

Actually, ToW wasn't weepy at all. It was oh so sweet and revenge-y. And revenge-y is pretty darn tootin' sweet when it happens. I admit it. When a girl (or guy) gets beat down enough, and then develops the strength to fight back, well, I'm a rooter.

I don't like revenge dramas where the revenger is the bad guy (or girl), but when the revenger is the sympathetic protagonist, then I'll stay up all night to watch.

I hate Bae Soo Bin's make-up - his eyes look gross.... He is a handsome man but the artist did a lousy job on him this time.

I just watched this drama. :-) Well...it's the fastest drama I've ever seen in my entire life. Even if BSB comes in Ep.2 , I wouldn't be surprised. However, you made a mistake in the posting. BSB will show up in Ep. 6, not in 8. And this one is supposed to be a total of 20 episodes. With this speed, I doubt how the writer extend until ep. 20. BSB can revenge LSY until ep. 10.

BTW, am I only one who like his eye make-up? :-)

@Suzzie, really? Did another article say Episode 6 instead of 8? Is this article wrong then? Thanks for the info; I'll have to double-check.

no, Suzzie I love the eyeliner too. I love eyeliner on guys as long as the eyes are beautiful and BSB has beautiful ones. Eyeliner usually means bad boy. BSB's character was so bland and boring in BL so it's going to be exciting to see him mixing it up.

But it's lovely when you quibble, JB. You actually quibbled very nicely without quibbling.

I don't think I want to watch this for the fear that I'll miss out the plot due to distraction of the thick eyeliner.

Bae Soo Bin and eyeliner!?
Oh, I almost passed out from laughing at this. I don't mind eyeliner on guys *TOP* but... He's an attractive man, but something is not right in that picture.
I wonder what Han Sang Jin looks like in eye-liner......

Anyways, anyways, even if Bae Soo Bin's father was wrong for being responsible in Lee So Yeon's father's death, I will be rooting for Bae Soo Bin to get his revenge.

LOL @ height difference. I guess he had more than plastic facial surgery... heh.

I'm always fond of Bae Soo Bin, but what's with the eyeliners?
It makes him look like Sayong in Jumong.

I already watched it. It's OK for me. However ,I like Han Sang Jin SO MUCH!!! Because he's kinda cute!! >-<

If he appeared until ep.7......I think that's too short

I'll wait and see Bae Soo Bin 's part.

Nooo...not the eyeliner! I know why they did it but can't they make him a 'bad' boy without the eyeliner?
