I never love any korea dramas so much like this drama before . even i saw lots of drama like kim-sam-soon , f4 , take care of your lady , coffeprince , goong , etc., I saw the other drama just once time .

but this drama make me excited all the time and wait for wednesday and thurs day every week!!

of course! I rerun this drama everytime i have opend my computer.

i wouldn’t have watched “you’re beautiful” if they hadn’t disabled the link at mysoju for “iris”. i was distraught at first but am so taken with the story and the fun i always get from watching “you’re beautiful” that am not even all that anxious to watch the continuation of “iris” at mysoju.

to everybody responsible for “you’re beautiful” thank you so much for the sheer joy that you’ve given us, your viewers. i hope you’d extend to 20 episodes but whether it stays on at 16 or not, more power to you and keep on fighting!

Nah, I don’t see it. When was the last rom-com that you saw having 20 episodes?

Also, You’re Beautiful is already feeling the strain of the live-shoot. There’s a lot of logistical stuff the show is doing (i.e. the parodies, the pig scene, etc.) , that requires a lot of planning and so on .

Working through the first 2 episodes of Angel’s Temptation . . . and as a melo-drama fan, I think this show is brilliant. I’ve seen crazy plots, but this is up there . . . and yet the plot is also well executed. Everything fits. A rom-com is funnier if there’s good characterization. A campy melodrama works better if there’s more detail in the plot.

Let’s put it this way. What she does is really messed up. I almost root for the villainess because it requires a lot of thought to bail herself out of this one!

Because of the ratings, the YB crew had to shorten the episodes to 16!!! If it garnered ratings above of what its getting now then i probably think they would’ve made it to 20 episodes!! I HATE RATINGS!! I wish they also thought about the worldwide ratings as well!! ITS NOT FAIR! (of course…its a korean drama…if Koreans aren’t interested then so be it…!) I do hope by the next episode, the ratings increase ALOT!

On a whole, I like Dirty Carnival more as I feel a bit disgusting watching so many sex scenes in one movie. I feel sorry for JIS and the lead actress’s sacrifice for this film.

As for JGS, I think he has more potential. I cannot recognise JGS when he first appeared in Beethoven Virus. He tried his best to protray this role with a different image. I appreciate his dedication. He is not afraid of accepting roles which are supposed to be challenging to him for his age. But so far so good. I hope I can see him in the next role playing “bad guy”, “killer”, “calculating guy”…. I think he can also deliver these roles well. But maybe I set a too high standard for him after watching a few good dramas/movies from him.

I also find him to be too serious in some shows like YSMM. Maybe it is because he is a perfectionist.

Han Hyo Joo brings a lot of melancholy into most of her performances. (Of course, I’m leaving NN5 out of this. ) In good and bad ways, she’s the mopiest actress of her generation, and her specialty is in playing loners. She brought to Brilliant Legacy kind of an emotional credibility about surviving on your own and having to take care of your baby brother before you were ready. In that regard, it was similar to her role in the film “Ride Away”, where she had to take care of her alcoholic father and troubled brother. I’m a fan of hers, mainly because I kinda see the outside shot of being a Kim Ji Soo someday, who herself was a late bloomer in terms of acting. However, before that, she has to improve her relationship with the camera and work on “acting less.”

I like Jang Geon Seok in You’re Beautiful, but I also see this role as essentially the “Greatest Hits” of Jang Geon Seok’s young career. It’s a wonderful caricature of the “takes himself too seriously” Jang Geon Seok character that we’ve seen for a few years now. But, then again, that is also the thing — there IS a “JGS Type” just as there is a “Choi Ji Woo Type” or a “Kwon Sang Woo Type.” If anything, the beauty of Han Tae Kyung is how well it deflates JGS’s silly futility in upholding traditional masculine, brooding, “serious” persona in the roles he takes. The enjoyment of HTK improves when you are already informed of JGS’s previous roles. In the past, he was sometimes stiff, not because he was limited, but because he was stubborn and insecure. He is simply better when he’s allowed to be childlike and comfortable with the expectations of the camera. Why so serious JGS?
